The service was friendly, attentive and very helpful with recommendations. Plus, they offered a bowl of water for our doggie. Moreover, the food was exceptional. Scallop crudo with watermelon. Drunken noodles with roasted duck. Both dishes were a big YUM. This place has been on my list for over a year and here we are unknowingly walking in during restaurant week. My man got the preset meal - soup, fish and dessert (see photos) and I went ala carte and got Brussels sprout and Thai noodles with chicken. Everything was delicious, our server was amazing. Dishes were almost too pretty to eat but prices were reasonable and the flavors were fantastic. The sprouts and the soup were the stand outs for sure but it was all sooooo good. read more

Our dinner here was an excellent experience from start to finish. The menu offerings were different and unique enough to be immediately interesting, and I really enjoyed their focus on curries. My party of 6 had a wide variance in the degree of spiciness they could tolerate, all the way from "very" to "none," and our server was able to indicate which menu options would work for which tastes, and which dishes could have their spiciness moderated. The drinks were equally interesting, and some have a nice, unexpected, kick due to their homemade spicy agave. Another unexpected plus was that on Thursday evenings, a pre-fixe dinner for 2 menu is available, which 2 of us selected. Your options are much more limited but equally delicious. Everything tasted quite fresh, all our dishes came out quickly and at the same time. Unfortunately, they had run out of a few menu items, but each time we ordered something that was unavailable, we were given alternatives added for the evening which were just as good, plus some complimentary desserts. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and contributed to our overall enjoyment. First timer. I was fortunate enough to have the personable and charming Casey as my server. Bartender Danny made two wonderful rum-based cocktails, May Flowers (rocks) and Takedown ( straight up). The Thai coconut soup was mushroom-loaded, and absolutely delicious! The garlic calamari was perfectly cooked. I proceeded to the Lobster Lahsa to try and with a plan to take much of it home for another meal! I was not disappointed. One of the desserts Casey recommended was the Dubai chocolate Basque cheesecake, which was smooth, sweet, and delicious. Five enthusiastic stars, wish I could give more. From beginning to end, the food was off the charts. This is not your typical Thai restaurant, nor does it fall into the Street Food category. You will experience a master chef's improvement on many of your favorite dishes. They use top quality ingredients and proven recipes from the homeland. The bartender is fabulous as well. I had the Dealer's Choice and would have had 5 of them if I wasn't driving. The coconut brown sugar dessert was incredibly good and quite light. ..I'm gonna say it, this is the best restaurant for Thai in the entire northeast. Chefs know what they're doing. It's more sophisticated culinarily than most things in Boston. Don't miss the papaya salad. Get the duck curry. And if the coconut ginger sorbet is an option, get that too. read more

Lots of potential here, and I trust this restaurant will improve as they gain more experience. I believe they have only been open for 7 weeks when we dined. First, the room is beautiful, and they did a nice job reworking the space. there are some awkward tight corners if you try to navigate from the front of the room to the rear restrooms, but perhaps more a problem for the staff than diner. We have many many Thai and Thai inflienced restaurants in Portsmouth and the surrounding towns, and this menu is a bit different than the others, but still has some of our favorite Thai dishes. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed to know her way around the menu. She was candid about her likes and reservations about some of the dishes. Her comment were more of texture and taste that were not clearly represented in the dish description. She steered us well! Overall the food was good, but we did find some of the portions exceptionally small as compared to other Thai restaurants. If you go, order a few more dishes than you think you would need. We are not big eaters, but we under ordered, a rarity for us. Usually we have way too much food, and honestly we are not fans of leftovers. As we were dining rhe restaurant became packed and people were lined up outside. It was a chilly night, but that did not deter people from dining outside. They have a very nice setup with fire pits. You absolutely need a reservation here. Our only real service issue was with dessert. It took a really long time, at least 25 minutes to show. Our waitress came over a few times to check, went to the kitchen, hostess came by our table and seemed to be wondering why we had not left. The coffee flan/panna cotta finally did arrive, and it was tasty, perhaps not an authentic Thai dessert to my knowledge, but it seemed worth the wait. I think the growing pains will pass and this will be a great addition to Portsmouth's great lineup of restaurants. read more

The tapas-style small dishes offer an array of remarkable flavors with heavy emphasis on southeast Asian cuisine. Hint of lemongrass, mint and cilantro was found in many dishes, each exquisitely presented. The small plates are executed with distinctive flavors and robust colors. All the meats (beef, chicken, shrimp and pork) were tender with the exception of duck which was slightly overcooked. The cocktails are creative and well crafted. We got take out- I didn't go inside but my partner told me it is absolutely stunning inside- I'll take their word for it and believe them. We got 3 entrees- duck curry, korat noodles and drunken noodles. The duck curry had a lot of flavor, the actual duck was a decent portion, but I found it a bit overcooked. The curry sauce was flavorful, the asparagus as minimal though esp for $32.00. The korat noodles were tasty, tasted similar to pad Thai, the chicken was tender and juicy and crispy pork rinds pieces on top gave it more flare. I do wish for take out they packaged the pork rinds separate because they were soggy by the time we got home- and it was only a 20 minute drive. The drunken noodle was good wok hei flavor, however I found the chicken pieces in this dish to be bland. The noodle flavor was good, we prefer it a bit more spicy and sweet- but overall a solid dish as well. Price point- each noodle dish was $19- made the total order over $75. Pricing is about on par for the area. Portions were fine to maybe just a smidge small. Placing the order online was easy and it was ready impeccably , almost too fast at about 10 minutes. read more

Love to try different cuisines and this restaurant hit the mark. We live locally but take a week or two at the beach and experiment with restaurants we wouldn't normally visit. Husband was a reluctant participant but was willing to try, which is why I can tag 40 years married. I'd suggest you study the menu and try 3 or 4 shareable plates. We liked most of them, heat isn't my fav these days so those dishes were difficult but overall I'd encourage you to try this place. When you first walk in, you are immediately struck by the design, unique and yet familiar, almost decadent but still comfortable, with a center stage bar and a clever use of seating to create a pod type separation that feels intimate. I should also note that this is not your typical neighborhood shop that sells dumplings and pho. It's elevated and the prices reflect that. A bowl of pho was $25, but I assure you it is worth every penny. We split an order of dumplings and the papaya salad with shrimp. The dumplings were astounding, perhaps the best I've had. The filling was tasty and soft without being gummy, and the wrap was soft and yet still retained some chew, with the pan fried side slightly crisp. Usually, eateries serve dumplings with a rather non descriptive soy sauce. This sauce was so good that we found ourselves using spoons to finish it once the dumpling were gone. The papaya salad was quite good, adequately spicy, refreshing, and the toasted peanuts gave it needed crunch. I will say that just two smallish shrimp in the salad seems a bit tight, and 4 would have been the perfect compliment. We both got Pho. I got beef, she got chicken. The broth was perfect...spicy enough that we didn't need to add any of the provided chili paste, and once that first burst of umami left our palates, a complexity of flavors lingered with each sip. Well done! Pho rice noodles are usually mushy, but not these. With a bit of a chew still evident, they were perfect slurping noodles. Too often, proteins in pho seem like an afterthought, like maybe they were reheated in a microwave, and the can be tough and dry. Not here! The chicken was juicy, and the beef ( a better choice in my opinion) was moist, soft, and delectable. Wow x 3 ! She claimed it was the best bowl of pho she has ever had. I wasn't going to quibble. We did start off with a couple of cocktails. The descriptions are intriguing, and while they were fine, they didn't knock my socks off. Both drinks were a bit too heavy handed with the lime/citrus for my taste, so I found them a bit too acidic. I think that is likely just a matter of taste, and when I return, I'll try something else. Service was spot on. Every time a waitstaff or kitchen person walked by, they'd glance at our table or see if we needed anything, so it was more than just our assigned waitress taking care of us. Plating was creative, and different enough for us to notice and comment. Little touches! We got a dessert that was described as a soufflé style cheesecake with lemon curd and raspberry coulee. I really liked the raspberry and lemon and was less enchanted with the cheesecake itself. She loved it, including the cheesecake. So you be the judge. Unfortunately, we traveled into town from points afar to see music that night so it will be a while before we return. That being said, I look forward to my next excursion to Portsmouth so I can come back and try the several things on the menu that sounded intriguing that we could not get to. Excellent! Traditional Thai wedding dresses on mannequins greet you when you open the door. They are beautiful but at first we thought we were in the wrong place. Then you step inside to a stylish and unique space with a beautiful bar and high ceiling highlighted by spectacular light fixtures and semi circular booths. Definitely a cool vibe. They have an imaginative drink menu but we opted for wine. The waitress returned with 2 glasses with the smallest pour we have ever seen. They looked more like a sample of the wine. The menu was intriguing and we selected a couple entrees. They were excellent but more like tapas in size. While the ambiance, service and food was exceptional, the small pours and small portions were not reflected in the price.
