    Vegan cheesecake

The food is not only healthy and delectable but beautiful! Decided to go with a couple of apps this time and add some rice. That way could split the vegan cheesecake. The Thai curry puffs flaky and delicious. But the COCONUT SOUP--wow! Don't miss this. I will dream about this soup! Service was warm and attentive.

I kept saying that I had no idea how this food was this delicious, the textures were somehow PERFECT this is the best fake chicken I have ever consumed. 11/10 for the nuggets. The other food was also amazing we had the spare ribs in addition to the apps. Our server was fantastic he talked to me about how the food was made I was so impressed with his knowledge of the food. We will return next time we are in the area :)

Such an awesome vegetarian Thai restaurant! We ordered the Thai basil fried rice, which was fantastic, and the Siamese Dream Curry Noodles. The curry were amazing, a rich creamy broth with a generous portion of noodles, veggies, and meat alternatives (tofu and soy meat). Definitely will be coming back soon!

Green elephant is excellent for food and service - Roti canai - 5/5 Curry puffs - 5/5 Siemese noodles - it's one of my favorite items but it lacked veggies first and then when they added veggies it lacked sauce - it was also not spicy which is a bummer / hopefully they fix it for next time

Almost everything is vegan, or can be made so, and Oh. So. Delicious!! One of our fave meals all week long We ate dinner on a Friday night, and my only complaint is how LOUD the place was. The all wood interior seemed to amplify the sound. Def not a quiet, romantic or date night place, at least on the weekend. We could barely hear our server, and forget talking to each other. That being said, the service was outstanding, and the food was, every bite, phenomenal! For an appetizer, we ordered the King Trumpet Oyster Mushroom Tempura, and received a HUGE bowl of delicately crispy mushroom bites with a delicious light sauces to dip it in that took the savory factor up a million degrees! SO GOOD, I can't recc it enough! We had the Spicy Vegetable Stir Fry, at a spice level 3/4, which had a red curry sauce and tofu "meat" that was out of this world! I had a Green Curry Bowl loaded with green veggies, and spicy hot at 4/4. It was heat hot as well, which was perfect for the cold night. Overall, the food was some of the best we ate anywhere in Portsmouth, with service that equaled the best anywhere else. Don't miss out on such a fab place to eat - just find a quieter time to visit!

We really enjoy the Green Elephant, even though we are not vegetarian. The menu takes plenty of nods from Thai cuisine, the staff is always nice and friendly and the food delicious. On our most recent visit, we stopped in for lunch. It seems they do not offer a lunch menu, but the dinner menu is varied enough that you can pick and choose to scale down to a delicious lunch. We started with a few appetizers, a very delicious version of "Curry puffs", with light flaky dough and a delicious filling that did not overwhelm with the curry flavor. The Singapore noodles were enough to share for two people, especially at lunch time. Lot's of fresh vegetables, and crunchy fried tofu. I like that you can customize the heat level for most dishes. While we did not have alcoholic beverages, they do have a full bar and creative cocktails which we have enjoyed when visiting for dinner.

Nice clientele, nice light fixture, cool vibe upon walking in. My friends and I were walking around Portsmouth and wanted to grab a light dinner before a long drive back to VT. We each ordered something different: chive pockets, Singapore noodles, samosa appetizer, and peanut curry. This was definitely a trendy place with eclectic Asian fusion.

Miso soup was delicious and hearty - just what you need on a cold day outside. Both, noodles and fried rice were great. Btw their spice levels are catered to North American taste buds, so if you're an Asian just tell them highest spice levels and you'll probably still feel like moderate. It is a tragedy that I was only planning to visit Portland for less than a day, so I didn't have the opportunity to dine in at the Green Elephant. However I would contemplate driving up from Boston just to have their Singapore noodles again. It was so flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. The level 2 spice in the online ordering menu was not spicy at all, but the food still had a good amount of sauce and flavor. The dish was definitely heavy on the noodles and probably only had 4-5 bite-sized pieces of tofu for protein, but the noodles certainly were my favorite part. And for only about $15-20 per main dish, this is one of the more accessible/affordable restaurants for vegan options in Portland!

The sprouts were just right and managed to avoid the overly chewy texture a brussel sprout salad can sometimes have. The whole thing was creamy yet light and the cashew flavor was fantastic. This is a new favorite salad. I'd been eying their street carrots for a while. I believe they used to have a Moroccan version I missed but the Argentinian ones they have now with chimichurri sauce were awesome - warm and comforting. The Thai style noodles had a great combo of ingredients, though the noodles were a smidge al dente for my taste and I prefer a less tart sauce. I did love the combination of tofu and peanuts. I hope to try more things on the menu, especially the KFC (cauliflower sandwich) I keep hearing about. I will probably have to repeat that brussel sprout salad every time though! The seating was surprisingly generous - both a table section and a large window counter area. You order at the counter and there is a convenient self service water area. They brought out our order quite quickly to where we were sitting and the self bussing was easy. There is also a grab and go cooler section with meals, sides, cookies and drinks. Truly a great find - and so nice to leave a place feeling you ate healthy!

After being a customer for many years I moved to RI and on occasion would come back when visiting. Noticed the menu has been through lots of changes, I miss the "raw" aspect of it. We ordered online 3 hours ahead and still ended up waiting another 40 mins for it. The pizza is no longer on a homemade raw base it seems to be on a typical packaged crust. It wasnt what I was used to from this place but it wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was really bad; The macaroni wasn't cooked and it had no flavor. The nachos were very good but super soggy because they were probably waiting for the other foods to be cooked . My sister liked her bowl and I liked my wrap.
