    Fried pickles

We stumbled across BRGR bar when staying across the street at the Hampton Inn. Great little spot for happy hour and would definitely go back for a meal! We loved the poutine fries and fried pickles (ask for some ranch, too!). Happy hour deals were awesome and we had a great table outside. Would definitely try again!

Felt a little old and slightly forgotten about a little inside. It was a Sunday afternoon in the summer. The town was bustling but barely anyone was in BRGR and it was 12:30pm (plus it was rainy.) we were seated immediately but as much as the restaurant was pretty vacant we were seated ad an odd table with a piece of the wall obtruding cutting down sitting space at a 4 top table as we were a party of 4. Odd... The waitress was nice. Food came quick. I have the fig burger. It was cooked perfectly and tasted good but what a mess! I know some people may enjoy messy burgers but that's not my style. I looked over and my husband was a mess from his burger! Tip: parking is on street and this is a congested hotel area.

We ordered a bison burger which my husband loved and I ordered a smash burger which was alright. The service was really good. The waiter was attentive. I ordered a rum punch and I wasn't impressed. Sitting outside was nice.

We came in with a party of 8 this weekend and this is not the place for a crowd that size. The bar takes up a majority of the restaurant which implants the seating capacity. The food was fantastic but it took a hot minute to get. Our table was serviced by the bar staff and we felt very forgotten at some points. But no complaints about the food.

Good food and service on a cold Sunday afternoon, what else do we need to end the weekend well! The service was amazing(I wish I remembered the server's name). She was kind, patient and very honest with her recommendations. The restaurant itself as well as the restrooms were clean. It is a small cozy restaurant. All the food was we ordered sooo good. The wings, burgers, veggie burger, jackfruit taco, croquettes, fries and Brussel sprouts. I cannot wait to have lunch here again when I am in the area next! Highly highly recommend!!!

I definitely recommend Brgr as a casual date spot or a spot to catch the game with friends. The food is good and they do the burgers well. I'm a little bit of a wings snob and for me the "crispy buffalo wings" were not crispy at all. And the sauce wasn't that good. Service was great and friendly. It's hard to say what specifically, but BRGR is missing something to get it to 5 stars. Still a great Portsmouth spot tho.

Can I just say @ 2 pm on a Friday OMG freaking ridiculous burger. The flavor is out of this world cooked perfectly. My fries are cheesy and gooey but yet crispy drinks are phenomenal and staff is off the hook! Haven't been in since the nearest homey bought many burgers for staff employees locally will definitely be back and a redo !! Pop in and get food you won't regret! Bartender Bret and the chef Jason should be commended well done !!!

There was a bug in my water the food was good and the coke tasted like it was watered down

Stopped in on a business trip and wasn't disappointed. Bellied up to the bar greeted by a very friendly bartender and started with a cold beer, Ordered the Philly smash and fries. Super fast service, burger was absolutely delicious. It was election night and happy they had sports on the TV's nice needed break! Great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend this establishment.

We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Portsmouth - we'll definitely be trying the deviled eggs, wings, and fried oreos!

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!

Ok fine, it was maybe an $8.00 margarita at best. We ordered the queso app- and two burgers- on a Monday, when it should've been two for one burgers. We were charged for both, and when I mentioned this to the bartender, she said it was taken off after we rang up- hmmmm....but really? Had we not said anything, I'm not sure it would have happened. Blue crab cocktail was covered in a giant slopped on pile of cocktail sauce and horseradish, which absolutely overwhelmed much of the delicate crab meat even after peeling off as much as possible. Why not put this on the side? Maryland sensibilities offended. Shrimp roll was good but menu should explain how it's served. Coleslaw it came with was awful.... Too much vinegar. Dinner rolls were excellent. Mac & cheese was also very good. Kids cheeseburger and fries were fine. Heirloom tomato salad was ok... tomatoes were a little overripe but flavor was good. Roasted oysters were terrible.... If I wanted a mouthful of warm flavored bread crumbs I can eat them out of the pantry. We sent back the crab dip... it very much tasted like whitefish... they checked and said it was the crab dip, but it tasted nothing like crab to us. Maybe it was just poorly balanced like a lot of the rest of the food. Drinks- 5 stars Great cocktail and very solid beer menu. Atmosphere- 1 star I CAN'T HEAR YOU?!? Maybe a little less tile and metal next time. Sooooo loud the lady we were walking out with said "your ears need a break from that place.... Never again!" Same lady... same. Service- 1.5 stars Our actual server did a very good job he was timely and friendly and dealt with our crab dip send back very well. However- we reserved a standard height table but when we got there they said that only high tops were available. We specifically chose the dining room not a high top when we reserved and the hostess completely blew this off like it was our fault. When she asked if it was a problem and we said it was she simply stared at us. Value- 2 stars A meal at this price should hit on all cylinders and this was more of a "it runs but it smokes a lot" experience.
