It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! Our group consisted of approximately 30-40 mature adults, and we occupied more than half of the restaurant. Our table alone had around 10-12 people. Given the size of our group, we understood that service might take a little longer than usual. Our waiter initially asked how we want our check. We requested individual checks, which he agreed to accommodate. However, it quickly became apparent that he was overwhelmed and struggling to manage our table. When we tried to get his attention to order a second round, he never returned to our table. Eventually, one of our group members had to walk up to the bar to ask for assistance. He was told that the waiter would be sent over. When the waiter finally came over, instead of taking our order, he told one of our guests that he was cut off. Our guest asked whether he was the only person being cut off, and the waiter responded that he wasn't going to try to figure out who had ordered what. Seriously? Rather than taking the time to clarify the situation or handle it professionally, the waiter made a blanket decision and escalated an already frustrating situation. Words were exchanged between our guest and the waiter, after which the waiter walked away to get the manager. The manager then informed us that our guest had been cut off because he was supposedly intoxicated. This was particularly ridiculous because, as far as we knew, he had ordered only one drink. The claim that he was intoxicated was difficult for us to understand, especially given the circumstances. What made this entire experience even worse was that our entire group, not just our table, was eventually forced to leave the restaurant. We were a large group of adults gathered to celebrate a friend's wedding, not a group looking for trouble. Yet the situation was handled in a way that turned what should have been a happy celebration into a very unpleasant experience. I understand that restaurants have the right to refuse alcohol service when necessary, and I appreciate that managing a large group can be challenging. However, there is a difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers poorly. If the waiter was overwhelmed by the size of our group or the individual checks, that should never have resulted in such unprofessional service and the entire group having to leave. The lack of communication, the waiter's dismissive attitude, and the manager's handling of the situation were extremely disappointing. We came to celebrate a special occasion and spend time with friends and families, but instead, we left with a terrible impression of this establishment. The Thirsty Moose seriously needs to reconsider how its staff handles customers, communicates with large groups, and resolves conflicts. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this place for group gatherings or celebrations. There are plenty of other establishments where customers can expect to be treated with courtesy and respect.
