Such a gorgeous upscale Thai restaurant. Presentation was beautiful and the food tasted just as good as it looked. The only downside was that a lot of our dishes were super greasy and took away from flavor. Basil fried rice was especially lacking flavor. This review can be a 3.5. I wish it was better but they decided otherwise. What a shame. I was excited to try this restaurant. Great part- The food, which was excellent and filling as I hoped for considering this was my first time dining here. Poor / disappointing part was the service. Upon entering, I wasn't greeted for what felt like 5 minutes. I walked towards the kitchen door and asked someone if I can be seated. My waitress was wearing a soiled T-shirt which was a turn off. Just gross Service during dining was okay. After dinner. I didn't see my waitress for 10 minutes or more just to pay. I once again walked towards the kitchen door and my waitress was at a table doing her makeup and said it's our break time. I didn't even want to respond to that. I heard and saw a staff member lying down sleeping and snoring loudly. The waitress once again responded this is their break time!!! Are you serious? All this just happened. Yes they were serious. Staff breaks take precedence over the guest in this hospitality industry establishment. Yes it was quiet/slow for a lunch but why should my experience suffer because of this. Clean and tasteful decor, prompt friendly and efficient service, free lemon water was offered and refilled regularly, Thai teas were superb and festive, and the food was excellent. Price was reasonable and portions were generous. All dishes came out piping hot. Soups were delicious and hot in generous portion. Could have included more shrimp, though, as some of our other regular Thai restaurants do. The roasted duck curry was hot and delicious, and so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Crab Rangoons were some of the best we've tried. The Crazy Rolls were different, with not as much vegetable as we're used to, but generously filled with very tasty pork that was an excellent texture. The Drunken Noodle portion was the largest I've seen, and soooo very good. The special BBQ beef dish was a little disappointing, though, and would have benefited from some rice wraps or some kind of way to assemble the flavors into a more palatable bite. Instead, it was served with dry steak, separated from a bunch of dry greens, on a plate, with the steamed sticky rice in the basket, separate, and a peanut and honey sauce separate, so it was hard to figure out how to not have an overly dry bite. That could have used some explanation. But, we'd go again when we're in the area, because it really is so good! A definite go-to. read more

While driving the scenic route between Rockport and Salem, my dad and I happened to see Andalin and it's great reviews. We love Thai food, so we turned a U-turn and found parking. The restaurant is very classy inside, and has great ambiance. We were seated immediately and began the difficult choice of narrowing down what we wanted to eat. We ended up deciding on the Singapore Noodle and the Indonesian fried rice. Both were delicious! The Singapore noodles were very flavorful, with a generous portion of chicken. The Indonesian fried rice was also delicious, with a little spice kick that was perfectly balanced with the rest of the flavors. I am not the best with high spice levels, but for the fact that this dish had a one-chili marker, I loved it! The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. Service was quick and friendly, and we would definitely return if we were ever in Beverly, MA again! read more

Four of us went out to this restaurant for the first time tonight. My son and I both ordered pad Thai with duck. We were both excited to try this because we love both duck and pad Thai but had never had them together. I did a double take when the meals arrived because my son's dish was heaped with duck and it was sliced so it appeared to be the prime cut of it. On the other hand, I had much less duck and what I did have looked the ends and not the best cut of duck. I called the waitress over and showed her the noticeably contrasting plates. It's one thing if only one of us had ordered this meal but when you have two identical orders at the same table but with much different portions...that's a problem. She took it back but the my new meal looked very much like the first. I asked for the same cut of duck that was on my son's plate but it looked like I got the same plate back that I had the first time with a couple more pieces of an inferior cut of duck. I rarely complain at restaurants so I was stunned that there was no follow-up to ask how the meals were and to see if I was satisfied with the replacement meal. I was not. My son brought a good portion of his home but I had barely enough to feel satisfied at that sitting and certainly none to bring home. The meal still tasted good but the lack of customer service detracted from the experience. I don't think we'll be returning. read more

My husband and I tried Andalin's for the first time on a suggestion from a friend and have never looked back!! This gem of a restaurant has become our number one favorite place to relax, have a drink and enjoy a delicious meal. My husband wasn't even a huge Thai cuisine fan until we discovered Andalin's. Never have. I tasted pad Thai as amazing as what I experienced there. Every dish arrives piping hot and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The service is quick, and the staff could not be friendlier. They are completely accommodating to any special request and food is served with a smile. Patti and Sophia, just to name a few, always make you feel like you're right at home from the moment you step in to this beautiful classy establishment. Creative and delicious food! My family came here because our friends tried Andalin and they loved it. We ordered the iced Thai tea with the popsicle and the presentation was breathtaking. My mom said her Pad Thai was the most flavorful she had ever had, and I have to agree with her. Sadly though, the best one I have tried is thousands of miles from me here in MA. The best crab rangoons (of the non-curry variation) and best koo-chai, and best pad Thai. The ambience is much more upscale than most Thai places I have been to boot. Service is very attentive and friendly as well. My former Thai favorites are on notice... Sorry I didn't have the willpower to wait and take photos. Note that parking around the restaurant can be hard to find, but there is some free parking near the train station meets bagel place a block away. read more

I've tried a few things and the fresh rolls and curry are my fav. When you sit to eat the presentation is so pretty! Andalin is a beautiful restaurant tucked in the heart of Beverly Farms. The interior is so lovely, the art work and lighting are gorgeous. We made a reservation for 7:00 on a Thursday but we were surprised that there were only a handful of parties in the place. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu is huge. It was honestly hard to decide. Vegans and vegetarians will rejoice because there are tons of great options to swap Seitan in for a protein in many dishes. After the waiter brought our drinks we ordered coconut shrimp and chicken satay. The shrimp were coated in coconut and served with a honey sauce. The chicken was tender, perfectly cooked and came with a peanut sauce. Both apps were excellent! We decided to share the edamame and Tofu Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was absolutely loaded with crispy tofu and crushed peanuts. The sauce was a little sweet and just a bit spicy. This is the best Pad Thai I have had in years! Our meal was heavenly and we even had leftovers to bring home so this will tell you the portions are large! Our only disappointment was that when we finished our meal nobody asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. The staff seemed anxious to close although there were a few other folks still in the restaurant. They all looked a little tired by 8:30. I will definitely be back soon and tell your vegan friends! Some of the best Thai food I've ever had, including in Thailand. Their rangoons are super legit, using fresh seafood, as opposed to the ever popular imitation. The simple fact that you can vary the spiciness of your entrees is incredible, and they aren't shy if you ask for a 5. I've had the duck multiple times, and its always cooked to perfection. The bar is a fun place to hangout and the bartender always mixes craft cocktails; I once had a rift on a whiskey sour with a cabernet floater, which was all-time. read more

Andalin is definitely near the top of our list of Thai spots! We had the butterfly dumplings as an appetizer and enjoyed them a lot. The filling had a pleasant texture and there was plenty of crunchy garlic on top. I ordered the spicy pad thai with chicken. While it wasn't terribly spicy, it was very flavorful and aromatic! I've eaten a LOT of pad thai and this one stands out. It had a kiss of smokiness that I can't get out of my head. The staff were all friendly and seriously on top of the refills. Excited to have another local option and something other than pub food. The atmosphere is really nice, and the food was amazing. The wine and cocktails were delicious. For apps we had chicken satay and steamed butterfly (veg) dumpling. Both were excellent. For entrées we had a salmon curry dish and pad thai with tofu. Both were truly incredible. The ONLY unfortunate part of the evening, which is not the restaurant's fault, was the behavior of the people sitting next to us. A couple, much older than us (we are in our 40s), who started laughing and staring at me when I ordered a glass of wine, and then again when my boyfriend ordered a Pellegrino. I turned to them and asked, is something funny? They averted their eyes, but they continued to look at us and laugh at us part way into our dinner. They refused to make eye contact or respond to us when we made it clear we weren't going to be bullied. I can not recall the last time I have seen such rude and classless behavior, and from an older couple! Apparently they take pleasure in soiling our evening. They should be ashamed of themselves for finding fun in trying to embarrass and humiliate fellow diners. I don't know if they live in Beverly Farms but , if they do, their behavior reflects very poorly. People, be better. read more

Outstanding experience. My friend and I were looking for a decent Thai restaurant near an event we had attended. Not being familiar with the area, we let Yelp lead us to Andalin. I'm very pleased that we did! Friendly and efficient servers, a clean and cozy establishment, and absolutely delicious food. The chicken satay were plump and tender, the Thai tacos were unusual and satisfying. We had Salt & Pepper Calamari, which were really terrific (no tentacles though-my favorite part). We also had Spicy Pad Thai with assorted seafood (huge hit), and the Taro Rice with Thai sausage (unusual and delicious). In short, a wonderful meal and experience.
