Put an order in at 5:45. Got two emails, one with a 15 min range and then a second email with a specific time at 6:10. 45 min later I'm still sitting here with no food. I asked to cancel my order and refund me and was refused. She comes out 5 min later with 5 orders...none are mine nor for the 5 people waiting. The ordering system is horrible because it requires the front counter person to print off when she gets to it. Then the kitchen gets backlogged. BE WARY OF ORDERING TAKEOUT!!! Ordered food online at 7:06 pm. Got a confirmation email saying it would be ready 7:21-7:36. Got there at 7:40. There was a line of people waiting to be helped. No one in line had been acknowledged for over 15 mins. I asked those waiting in line. I, along with others, waited until 7:55 and was still not acknowledged. I left. Called over and over until someone picked up after 5 attempts and just left the phone on the counter. Called back and got off hook tone. Still not acknowledged. Ridiculous. Hard pass next time I'm ordering Thai takeout. Now I get to deal with cancelling the order via my credit card company since they won't acknowledge me in person or via phone. Living in Rockport there's no Thai on the Island. Spice Thai Kitchen is the closest we have 1 hour drive round trip. It was well worth it. I had the pumpkin red curry with chicken extra spicy and it was excellent. We will be sure to spread the word of this great family owned restaurant. read more

Highly recommend!!! If you want some authentic and delicious Thai food, this restaurant is the best!!! - - I've been to Ipswich several times because I have families living there. But as a visitor from Asia who always need rice for some comfort, it's always pretty hard to find a good Asian restaurant in this area. Luckily, I found this restaurant and got the most amazing Thai food through my whole trip! And the owner was supper friendly and recommended me lots of good dishes! The owner told us the same location used to be another Thai restaurant. But they took over it in Dec 2022 and redesigned the menu. So I guess a lot people haven't realize the restaurant has changed since then. Last but not least is that the environment in the restaurant is super comfortable, so highly recommend to eat in with your friends and families. read more

Had a wonderful dinner here tonight with family. We started with spring rolls, triangles and scallion pancake, all were great. I had the duck with red curry and it was one of the best I ever had. Several people in my part had different versions of the fried rice, all good. The Thai iced tea was exceptional. We were the only people in there at 5:30pm on a Friday. I'm not sure why since the food was so good. The building smelled a little stuffy when we walked in, and the AC could have been a little cooler but it was a great time overall. read more

Excellent food! A few of us ordered take out for lunch and it was great. Great flavor and a much better variety than any places in the Ipswich area. The portion for lunch is a little small compared to other places, but they make up for that in flavor! Tried the Massaman curry dish: sublime!, crab rangoons: nice, but small sized, Orange chicken: Really yummy, better than most places, but tiny portion and there was no substitution for the white rice, scallion pancakes: delicious, but tiny size. that's all we have tried so far, but can definitely recommend going! read more

I am picky about Thai, very picky. The menu here is extensive, almost too extensive. Came here for lunch with 8 people (we had a reservation) and the service was good, albeit fairly slow and some people were nearly half way through their lunches before others got theirs, unacceptable especially given that the restaurant was almost empty. Also, if you sat in the back, good luck ever getting a refill on your water! The food was ok, but there was zero and I mean zero spice in my dish which was disappointing. Would I come back? The Thai food here was ordinary. Not superb at all unfortunately. I realize it's hard to find that great Thai restaurant where the food is extraordinary. The Green Elephant Vegetarian in Portsmouth and Thai Basil on Newbury Street Boston are exceptions in this greater area. The pad thai here at Spicy Thai Kitchen was disappointing. the default selection comes with chicken and shrimp. Way too much bland chicken and only two little pieces of shrimp. Had I known I would of requested they hold the chicken and add more shrimp. Especially since I order the Chicken satay which was exactly the same bland chicken pieces. Could of used more vegetables also. The spring rolls tasted like frozen kind and were...meh. Shrimp mermaid was ok. Peanut sauce wasn't bad. read more

Usual (dinner)portions are large and plentiful.Massaman Curry delicious- Their sauces and dips are tasty pleasures. Our good friends G & R had Crying Tiger and Sweet Chilly Fish and we got Vegetable Pad Thai to go for our daughter--all highly recommended. I rarely give bad reviews because I usually find something nice about a place, but my recent visit had me disappointed. We came on a week night and the place was completely empty except for one other table where the people were already eating when we got seated. I had my two young children with me along with my husband. We placed our orders pretty quick as we know children do not do well with waiting despite me giving them a snack before we got there. We got small open cups of water with straws - my kids can drink out of an open cup, but there is a big chance most of it will end up on the table. I had to ask the server to take it away (we brought sippy cups for the children, but still why would you offer something risky like that for little kids). I ordered the crispy tofu squares as an appetizer. It's one of my favorite things to get at any restaurant that offers it on the menu. They were soggy. They looked crispy, but the shell was soft and kind of watery as they had not been fried long enough. During our meal we had to constantly flag down our server. We needed more water, my husband wanted a second beer, or I wanted more rice for my meal. No one was dining in the restaurant and we had to actually get up to find the server. It wasn't a crazy night where you are more understanding about poor service. Our 18 month old had spilled some of her dinner on the floor. Little kids do that. Some lady came over, not sure who she was as she wasn't one of the two servers we saw that evening and told us that it's hard to clean food off carpet and we needed to pick it all up. WHAT?!?! Excuse me, but this was the first time I was ever asked to clean up the floor at a restaurant. We already feel bad every time our children drop food on floors. Do you know what happened when we did it at another restaurant? The owner of this Greek restaurant came over and told my husband to stop picking up the food off the floor. He said he understood children spill food, but we are a guest at his restaurant and we do not need to do that. For the most part, we try to leave a place as clean as possible, but we have never been told to actually clean it up. Honestly it wasn't as much as it could be as earlier I had already picked up some of her rice she spilled. So the mess was minimal. I have worked as a waitress in a restaurant in high school and college, I have cleaned plenty disaster zones when families of small children come in. It's part of my job and I never grumbled about it because I was getting paid to do that work. As much as my husband liked his meal (I didn't get to eat much of mine as I was busy making sure the kids ate something and not make a mess), that experience left a sour taste in our mouth and we will not be returning again. The only reason I ate some was I came in tired & starving. Upon recovering a bit, I stopped eating. The server asked if we wanted to take the large amount of leftovers. In a world, or region, where there is a "chinese" restaurant on every corner, it is a breath of fresh air to have a good Thai place in town. They have added a little "shop" in the store where you can buy things from food items to trinkets. That's pretty neat. The restaurant itself is very clean, and the waitstaff is friendly. Service is prompt and always polite. Normally we do take-out from here because it's so easy to call ahead, and pick-up on the way home. The menu selection is clearly Thai for the majority, but has a few "asian cuisine" entrees like a few Korean dishes. This is a good place to dine in, or take-out. I dinged them one star because the food is good, but knowing a couple of other places I can say I've had better. It's a minor difference, but it's there. Also, to be super picky, their Korean dishes aren't quite up to snuff for me (having had authentic Korean). If it's on the menu, I have high expectations. read more

this place is tucked away at the end of the building. when you enter the restaurant you walk through their version of a mini snack shop. they have some asian candy and chips for purchase. the host stand is there where we were met bet by a friendly asian man who sat us promptly. the restaurant is nicely decorated and well maintained. we started with the naan with roti ($6.95). the bread was thick, soft, and warm and the sauce was tasty. Then we got the chicken pad see you ($10.95) and beef with macadamia ($13.95). both were well portioned and very good. the beef came with a small cup of white rice. the service was very good although i could have used more water refills. i asked if he could change the TV to the world cup game and he found out the channel and switched it over. i appreciated that. overall, i would recommend this place. read more

I had a nice Pad Thai from here - lots of flavors, more than you get in the average Pad Thai. Only thing was that there were no shrimp. Oh, and the Chicken Satay was awesome. Yummy! Spice Thai Kitchen never fails to make my full and happy. I have had many meals here. The food is consistently delicious and the product coming from the kitchen is very fresh and cooked to perfection. Portion size is great as I finish each item and never feel as though I am going to explode from over eating. My go-to item on the menu is the Crispy Chicken and Spring Rolls. They Spring Roll sauce is divine. I could spoon that stuff over my entire meal. The chicken is always golden fried and crispy with each bit. The plate includes a large portion of fresh mixed veggies and choice of white or brown rice. All this sits in a tangy / spicy orange sauce. The service never fails and they are happy to serve you. I regularly eat lunch with a large group and Spice Thai is very accommodating to serving my lively friends. Spice Thai Kitchen has a simple clean atmosphere. I have no complains when it comes to the overall feel as the rooms comfort me and I find it easy to enjoy my meal. I highly suggest eating here for lunch or an intimate dinner. read more

This is really a 4 1/2. I am rounding to 5, as it is a place often overlooked. If you like American Thai food, you will love this restaurant. Very good, high quality food, clean restaurant, pleasant staff. I have had many meals from here over the years and can not recall ever having a bad food experience. It is a very quiet restaurant, very Thai in decor. I see it as a 4.5 only because we have occasionally had slow service over the years, maybe 10% of the time. I've been going to Spice Thai for years. My experiences have been so inconsistent but our take out today was the lowest experience. Our food was clearly not freshly made, soggy chicken and limp crispy pad thai. Even the mango fried rice looked and felt that it had been reheated. I'm sorry to say I am done with Spice Thai which is too bad. I love their flavors but the price is too high for the quality I received today. I never see the same workers in there twice which makes me wonder if the kitchen operates the same way....that might explain the inconsistency. read more
