We've gotten take out here before and food was good, but this time it was very good. We got boneless pork ribs and they were great. They were cooked perfectly (not hard) and the sauce was just sweet enough. The crab Rangoon were plump and crispy. We also had Thai style rice with shrimp and pineapple. Never had anything like this before and it was very good. Service was fast. Portions were enough for two meals for two light eaters. read more

I have been ordering takeout from Good Taste since I moved to Ipswich 8 years ago, the food is always great tasting!

Food is ok. Not the best but hits the spot. However, the added and hidden fees are ridiculous. Ordered take out last night, to be delivered - the order came to $35.70. They requested how much tip should be added, to which I added 20%. Then, after being charged, there is an additional $5 delivery fee and something listed as "fees" for $1.89. So paid $52.41. Not worth it, and they got one of the meals wrong. read more

The food arrived hot and on time. The gyoza were fine. The shrimp with lobster sauce was terrible. While there were plenty of shrimp, the actual sauce contained no meat and was a cornstarch laden mess with peas and carrots, unlike any lobster sauce we have ever had. I took my grandkids here about a month ago and we had a PuPu Platter that was outstanding! They were also very generous with their portions and the price was right. However, I went back this past Saturday on my way home to Georgetown and picked up an order I had made online. It was the General Tso's Chicken and when I got it home and tried some, it was the opposite of my experience with their PuPu Platter. I was the worst meal I have ever had at an Asian restaurant. The chicken was so overcooked, I could barely cut it with a butcher knife. I would suggest that they have NO quality control on the weekends. It made me wonder how long it had been sitting/cooking before I got it to go. Based on that experience, I cannot imagine going back and giving it another try. We are from town, ate there once when they first opened years ago. My husband wanted to give it a try and I went along with it. Sorry to say thoroughly disappointed. We ordered the orange chicken. The breading was so thick, looked a little too uniform and was frankly hard to chew. I suspected it was a frozen product. The sauce tasted ok but was thin and greasy. My husband said his noodle dish was ok good but not great. Asian food leftovers usually don't last at our house but no one seems to want these. read more

This little joint is crazy wild. I walked in after a long day of fishing and sitting on the beach and needed some grub. I ordered a lot. The general tsos chicken was elite. We ordered food from here last night. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious everything tasted. The pork fried rice had lots of pork. The vegetable foo young had fresh vegetables. I've gone here a couple times. Recently discovered they deliver to my house in rowley which is awesome... Overall, this place is good. Their chicken fingers are really good. Lo mein is yummy. I loved the Shumai and fried gyoza. The only thing is the beef terryaki was really tough both times I got them. First time I thought maybe it was the batch, but the second time they were just as tough. Really difficult to chew. Beef terryaki is my favorite, and I couldn't even finish it. I had ordered the Pad Thai what I had got was a good rice noodle dish, however not pad thai. My wife had ordered the Kung po chicken. She didn't like it. We swapped dishes and were perfectly happy. I have had food here before and it always has been good. The kitchen is one of the cleanest I've ever seen ( having worked in restaurants for many years I look for this). The food is fresh. We often eat or take out from Good Taste when in Ipswich. This last time could be the last. We've overlooked past boo boo's in the past. We ate in and requested no soy sauce, no msg and light corn starch because of food allergies. We had headaches the next morning and the "brown sauce" was brown and salty. If I had to swim in the light corn starch I would mostly likely drown. The salt/pepper dry sauté shrimp was excellent. read more

subpar food in my opinion. it is not very fresh, feels like the grease is too much or too old. staff are friendly & prompt.

On recommendation of relatives who live in Ipswich, we ordered take-away during our visit there over Father's Day Weekend. It was all that they had hyped it to be -- incredibly clean, fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and cooked (fried octopus was not soggy nor over-battered = perfection; curry beef with udon noodles was totally delish!). Only sad that we didn't have room in our bellies to order more dishes and have to wait until our next visit. Also, the staff is so thoughtful. I left something behind on the counter and did not realize it until the next day when we had returned to CT. I called and they had it in safekeeping. Safina mailed it to me right away. Not only excellent food, their care of customers puts them at the top of my list of "don't miss when visiting Ipswich"!! read more

This is one of the greatest take out places around. Not much of a place to eat in due to high foot traffic & delivery. Speaking of delivery, don't do it. The delivery people are some sketchy looking folks. If you go you'll get large portions of really good food, a larger than expected menu and Thai dishes as well. I ordered a delivery on Saturday night 5/19/2018 and after an hour I had to call to find out where my order was. Subsequently when it arrived it was cold and the food was overlooked. This was a 30 dollar order with tip. Orange Chicken - over cooked and cold Pork Fried Rice - cold Chicken Teryaki - so over cooked you couldn't chew them Boneless Ribs - so over cooked they looked and tasted like shoelaces. Chicken Wings.- they were cold but acceptable. All in all , most of this meal went into the trash. This is totally unacceptable. I expect a credit or my business will be taken elsewhere. read more

Recently discovered this take-out restaurant. It's the best Chinese/Thai take out I've have had in a while. The Pad Thai variations are excellent, as is the cheerful service. You can also see the chef at work behind the counter which is terrific. Something most places don't let you see. Since discovery I have been back numerous times and the lunch specials include a health pork/mixed fried rice. Have revised my review. The original chef is not there anymore. However, the counter service is still terrific. Just doesn't have the snap and savoriness as it once had under the original cook. read more

This is absolutely the best and most flavorful American Chinese Food I have ever ate! I have ate well over 30 Chinese Food Restaurants in the past 35 years. This by far is my favorite. On New Years Eve we spent $165 dollars on food from here because my kids said they really liked it and I had only got pork fried rice from there once before and loved it. So I figured why not try it. Wow it was great! Kudos to the cooks and service very very friendly. They even called to let us know when the food was already for pick up. RACIST OR JUST DISGUSTING? This really floored me. Good Taste is a convenient restaurant for us, and we get take-out there often, though sometime we feel a little sick after easting their food. But last week, as I picked up my lunch order, the middle-aged Asian woman (who I believe is one of the owners) rang up my purchase, looked at me, and spit on the floor behind the counter. At first, I thought she felt under the weather, but when I thought about it more, it seemed pretty clear that an equally valid explanation was that it was a display of disrespect (I am and look Jewish). Good Taste is the newest Chinese/Asian restaurant in Ipswich and I've eaten food from here three or four times. Maybe I'm just spoiled from New York take-out Chinese, but this was consistently some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Since our usual Chinese restaurant closed in Essex, we decided to try Good Taste. The reviews were not great or consistent, but out of desperation we gave it a shot anyway. We called and placed an order and was told the wait was 35 MINUTES!!! That should have been our first clue. When we went to pick it up 35 minutes later, I paid and was looking around for the to-go bag. Nothing was handed to me and nothing was said. 7 other people were waiting for their orders and I was getting a little concerned. Three young employees were standing around the cashier looking clueless at each other and messing with their phones. Then all 4 employees were constantly staring at the cooks in the back and whispering. The cashier woman kept going in the kitchen and whispering and coming back out front but not updating anyone about their orders. Through the windows into the kitchen you could see the chaos between the cooks. I waited about 15 minutes and finally went and asked if they had even started my order, and if not, I wanted to cancel. She came back and said maybe 10 minutes. Meanwhile it was coming on an hour since I first PLACED the order! One gentleman said he had been waiting AN HOUR in store already!! Ridiculous. I canceled my order and got my money back. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME and terrible customer service!! How they are even in business is beyond me. If I could have left zero stars, I would have! read more

Clean, quiet environment. I was excited to try lunch there. The staff was very friendly. I went in between lunch and dinner and food tasted fresh and hot. However, the taste was not so good. The outside of the rice was a little overcooked, while the center tasted undercooked - like it had cooked strangely or wasn't great quality rice. The chicken wings were cooked well, but had a strange flavor, like maybe from the oil used to cook it? The chicken terryaki was a little drier and chewier than I like.
