    Chicken fajitas

Savina's was great spot to check out in the downtown Denver area. The upscale vibes make this the perfect spot to grab dinner or margaritas with a group. The food was amazing as my wife and I got the fajitas to split. The warm handmade tortillas were delicious! The fajitas came with a spicy verde sauce that we couldn't get over. The restaurant overall was clean, inviting, but a little loud. I'm not too old so it didn't bother me, but just a note. Service was amazing and had no complaints there.

Savina's was a great choice while we were in town for a convention. We made reservations ahead of time, and it came highly recommended by a local friend--which always feels like a good sign. It's a solid Mexican spot with a lively atmosphere. The place was very busy, and the bar was packed, so it took a little while to get our drinks--but once we did, it was worth the wait. We ordered margaritas, and they were delicious and clearly made with fresh ingredients. I had the jalapeño margarita, and it definitely had a kick--in a good way. Just a heads-up for anyone who isn't great with spice. The food overall was good, and our waiter was super friendly, attentive, and helpful despite how busy it was. I'd absolutely dine here again the next time I'm in the area.

My coworkers and I went to Sabina's for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon which was formerly La Loma. This was my first time there and pleasantly surprised! The chips and salsa were fresh and very tasty. The wait staff was also very attentive. I ordered a mocktail along with their Acapulco Grilled Chicken Salad. Both were delicious! The portions were also HUGE so come hungry or be prepared to have leftovers.

Beef brisket Chimichangas with green chili sauce.

Why were these the best chimichangas I have ever had in my life? The brisket inside was perfection. The green chili sauce, an out of body experience. I was even given a homemade tortilla to dip in the green chili. I was in heaven. Mauricio was an attentive server and made this an experience. A must stop for any visitors! Go Bills.

We came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and were able to walk right in but we also got there quite early at around 5. The service was great and the waiter routinely checked in on us. I ordered the enchiladas and got one chicken and one brisket and also half green chile and half red sauce. I liked the brisket better and the green chile was very flavorful. They also bring you unlimited chips and salsa and the chips come warm and fresh. It is more of an upscale Mexican restaurant and a good place for a couple people or even large groups.

Shrimp was overcooked, beans and rice were good

This looked like a nice well decorated restaurant. The booths were very comfortable, they bring you good salsa and chips when you sit down. Service was a little slow even though it was late afternoon and not very busy, they were understaffed. Unfortunately, I couldn't recommend the food. I ordered the tequila shrimp, and while the rice and beans it came with were tasty the shrimp was overcooked and tough.

Come here for the green chile and shredded beef (in burrito/enchilada/chimichanga/etc) and you're go to go for the whole meal. Other things are good too (guac, salsa, chips, beans, rice, chicken) but the green chile and beef are incredible. Can get pretty busy even on a weekday evening so food may take 20-30 min to come out, and parking is tough but there is paid street parking or garage nearby. Rustic vibes, on the fancier end of Tex Mex.

I think in transition of the rebranding, something was lost. This former Denver hidden gem felt soulless - our server was spotty, barely speaking to us, which maybe speaks more to being overcapacity. The food was basic, chimichanga not crispy nor flaky, filled with very plain brisket - which was tough. Same with the tortilla soup, it was okay, but the chicken was somehow dry and tough? Quality is okay, but this spot lacks the flare it once had. Come here for drinks and the green chili, the rest feels manufactured.

First time here with my partner. We came in around lunch time today and it wasn't very busy. Darkly lit, relaxed atmosphere. Our server was amazing, super sweet, great energy. She had been at the restaurant for 9 years and explained that some minor family mishap created the split and change in names of the place. Savina's Sampler: 4/5, good sample of their food options & green chile if you mainly wanted to try everything without committing to food with a lot of rice and beans. Good balance. Beef Brisket Chimichanga Combo (1 chimichangas with rice and beans instead of the specialty that came with two. Was quite full from the sampler). 3.5/5, the food is good, we got red chile instead of green to try it and didn't love it as much. Lots of rice and beans.

The green chili rellanos are so delicious they are worth the visit by themselves. Additionally the portions are huge, service is friendly and location is quiet in a good way.

Honestly, this was the best Mexican I have ever had in my life: chips were extremely crisp, meal was juicy with flavor, the atmosphere was high class and very well kept, service was professional and, and it all came at a great rate. Check this place out!!

Food was solid! We ordered the steak medium rare, it was nice and tender, though verging on the edge of rare on some slices. The side of green chili was delicious - definitely worth the try. The service was incredible! Our server was super friendly and made our experience that much better.

We visited this place for a work dinner and I was extremely impressed! The atmosphere was fantastic, walkthrough it was busy, the restaurant did not seem overly crowded while we were at the table. We reserved a spot for the group in advance and the staff set up a nice large round table for our moderate size group to dine at. We were able to interact with everyone throughout dinner. Every dish that came out looked fantastic - and mine was delicious. The portions were arguably too large - they were definitely plenty. Our office is near the convention center and we walked over here. I was a moderate walk, but easy. I've tried a lot of Denver Mexican places and this one stands out! I will defiantly be back on an upcoming trip into town!

Is a reservation a must? I'm trying to go Saturday evening but there are no openings until 9PM.

You should call the restaurant. If they are fully booked until 9 PM, you might want to choose another restaurant.

    How is parking?

Parking downtown can be difficult and there is very limited parking on that block. I'd recommend using the valet service (Mon-Fri at 5pm, Sat/Sun at 11am), using Uber/Lyft, or taking the RTD.

How is outdoor seating going to look during Denver's cold winters?

Most tables are on the patio with overhead heaters. They are pretty toasty. There are two tables outside the patio on the sidewalk. Those aren't heated, and aren't too comfortable after the sun goes down.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

Death & Co is a bar that has been on my list to go to for a very long time. We made our reservation ahead of time, which I would highly recommend you do. We originally sat at a lower table with a large couch and two side chairs. We had a group of six and we fit pretty comfortably. The only error we had was when the waitress was bending down to give us our first round, someone from the table behind bumped her and the tray of drinks went over. Honestly not really her fault and she was very apologetic. It did splash one of my party members, which is why they offered to comp us the drinks and we had to unfortunately move the table because of broken glass. They were fortunately able to get us into another table pretty quickly. It was close to the bar, which wasn't inherently bad. They gave us a fresh round of drinks. The food that came out was all amazing. We ended the meal with their chocolate chip cookies, which were divine. I'm pretty sure they were brown butter chocolate chip cookies because it had that excellent specific flavor you get from browning butter and baking.
