We felt mixed feelings about our meal. While many of the dishes were alright, it was not worth the money. I would say that there are better places to check out in Denver. This spot was almost empty at dinner time on a Friday. Tortilla soup 5/10. Pasole 5.5/10 Salad was very plain and basic 4/10. The desserts were alright but nothing to write home about, the chocolate mousse was a 6/10. The staff was friendly and the food came out alright for the most part. The fish I had was pretty small, four bites of fish and was not something I would get again 4/10.

Shrimp & Scallop Seafood Salad

Stopped in for dinner with friends who have raved about this downtown spot. Plenty of seating both inside and on the patio. They are known for their Oaxacan cuisine and chilhuacle (old chile in Aztec). Service was very friendly, but I was surprised there were only two staff members--our server/bartender and the owner/chef. Fortunately, our server told us to put in our order when a large party arrived. They have an extensive tequila and mezcal menu, and their margaritas have fresh-squeezed lime and are on the sour side (just how I prefer!) I ordered the shrimp & scallop seafood salad, which is a hot salad with cooked seafood and sauteed napoles, onions, jalapenos, tomato, and a delicious chilcosle dressing. I only wish it came with some bread or tortilla to soak up that delicious sauce! Colorful alebrijes are displayed throughout this welcoming space.

Caramel-Banana Crepes

Loved it so much I already went back! This time I tried the pozole which was warm and hearty. The caramel banana crepes were out of this world delicious. The service and beautiful modern yet culturally rich atmosphere still does not disappoint. I want to convince Zopalito to expand to Texas!

I happen to be in Denver for a convention, and I had a craving for Mexican food. First of all, Matt the waiter was terrific. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. You can't get any better. Granted, the restaurant was relatively empty on a Thursday night, so he wasn't terribly distracted. However, the food was outstanding as well. I started with the Cuban black bean soup, which was excellent. Had plenty of complex flavors and a portion of sliced guacamole on top. I practically licked the bowl. Then I have the beef tenderloin, which was served with potatoes au gratin and a sweet/savory corn mixture that was delicious with the potatoes. It was served with green sauce on top of the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was delicious piece of beef. For dessert they had a fantastic selection. I picked one they call caramel - banana crêpes.. I picked this because I had a craving for bananas, even though supposedly the chocolate mousse is their specialty. It was covered in caramel and chocolate sauce, and had a large number of walnuts on top, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream as well. I thought it was a bit sweet, and in retrospect I should've gotten the mousse. I ordered coffee and Matt made a pot of regular just for me, although they don't have milk, only cream, which is a mortal sin, considering I'm from New Jersey. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for Mexican food, but not the typical Tex-Mex stuff you get at most restaurants.

Want REAL Latin flavors?? Come here! This is the first true Latin restaurant I've been able to find in the Denver area. The food was outstanding!! Things are hot here so keep that in mind if you're not into that. I got medium and it was "hot" to me but still had great flavor.

Food was pretty good, albeit smaller portions... not really a big deal for me, but my big- portions-are-a-must-of-a-husband, he was a little bit disappointed in the small portions. Also, the scoop of guacamole that was probably two tablespoons was $15 with a sprinkling of 12 tortilla chips felt a little chintzy and like over-priced for what you got, as well as presentation. Drab. Prices like this, presentation goes a long way. Expectations and perception matters to a consumer. Our server was nice, but seemed a bit distracted, or maybe uninterested? Not sure we'd return.

Very good food, nice blend of spices and flavors. Lacking in ambiance, unfortunately. Could be due to time of day or location in CBD.

This restaurant is in the heart of Cherry Creek and as such, is in a really nice area. The building is beautiful and clean. The decor is tasteful and attractive. The food is absolutely amazing. I had a Connecticut lobster roll and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Pinot Grigio was chilled and went with my meal perfectly. The only drawback to this place is the parking is terrible. It's drive around for twenty minutes looking for a spot a block away or pay to valet your car. The key lime pie was world class.

I will say for the oyster deal it has been good, but sometimes the oysters aren't cleaned well. Again a hit and miss. The ambiance is nice and soothing, very ocean blue. We have also tried some sides and other entrees. The shrimp entree was good but lacked some salt. The burger was amazing with the bacon jam and always have the best shoestring fries. I also got an order of the crispy rice that has a salmon and a tuna. The salmon was way too sweet and had a fishy aftertaste that I disliked. The truffle tuna was definitely the better one of the two. However, the rice itself was absolutely mushy and not necessarily crispy. It also didn't have the best flavor. Desserts tried were the olive oil orange cake and the brownie. both are OK and nice and sweet, but not something I would spend money on Overall, truly think this place is a hit and miss. Just depends on the night.

I'm from the Bay Area me and friend went here to celebrate my birthday…read more It was both our first time eating at Ocean Prime Denver. After reading all the reviews, It did not disappoint. We were immediately greeted by host and asked for a table outside, but when it started to drizzle they accommodated us to inside no issues. Ben was our server, was very knowledge of menu. Often checked with us with a smile. We started with the goat cheese ravioli. Yum! We both had the fillet mignon steaks cooked to perfection. The baked potatoes were soft, fluffy buttery. I recommend the brussels sprouts for some greens. We were too full to eat dessert but Ben took care of this and provided a comped bday carrot cake for me to take home to enjoy. But why no happy birthday song bro??? Bottom line Great Service Great Food. Nuff said, just book your reservation already!

Seamless, thoughtful, and genuinely exceptional! Highly recommend!…read more We were welcomed into the bar area while waiting for our table, and the bar staff immediately set the tone for the service--attentive, efficient, and warm without being overbearing. Drinks came quickly, were beautifully made, and the space itself was clean, organized, and clearly well-managed. We were seated shortly after, and the service continued at the same high standard. Our server was prompt, attentive, and proactive--checking in at the right moments without interrupting the flow of the evening. What stood out most was how knowledgeable and accommodating the team was. They handled dietary restrictions with ease and confidence (no hesitation or guesswork), and their menu recommendations and wine pairings were thoughtful and spot-on. Each course arrived with perfect timing and presentation--nothing rushed, nothing delayed--and every dish delivered on flavor. It's rare to find a place that gets everything right: service, food, pacing, and overall experience. We are so thankful that this one did!
