The food was common and there were enough pictures so I didn't take any I am surprised they had bread as a paid appetizer but it looked good but I ended up getting French onion soup and sharing a wedge salad with my wife. The waiter had the kitchen split the salad for us. First, the French onion soup was a bowl but it was very good. I like getting the soup at all the restaurants we go to to see how well they are made. This one was very good. The wedge salad was good and it had chunks of blu cheese which I like. My wife had the teriyaki salmon. She said it was very good and would get it again. I had a filet with a lobster tail. The steak was cooked medium rare as I asked for so they did a great job with that and the lobster was good as it's a lobster. Now for the side we got and highly recommend the black truffle Mac & cheese. I don't know how to describe it but it was good. We also got the Parmesan broccolini which was cooked on a grill and was good. To finish the evening we ordered the crème brûlée. It has seasonal fruit that my wife ate and I had the cream dessert. Last visit during lunch was very good and wanted to try for dinner for a last minute celebration. Made a reservation using the Open Table which was very easy. I did want to let the restaurant know that it was for a birtday celebration but there was no place to put that info. However, when we checked in at the restaurant, our friendly hostess did ask which was wonderful. Took few moments to get to our table but they were busy setting it up for that special occasion. Our waiter was prompt greeting us and we ordered drinks and bread serivice. Our waiter was very nice but slow due to so many tables he was tending. This restaurant ran little different than the Eddie V's or Merlots. He did have assistance waiter (water person) but things were slow. At other locations, it was someone from the bar who delivered drinks but our waiter was doing that. Also, taking the dirty dishes were mostly handled by the waiter. This slowed down the actual things he should be doing like.. if we needed anything right after the food was delivered, checked on us more frequently..things like that. Overall food was very good, drinks were little bit expensive for the price being charged and slow service. At the end, he relized we were not a happy camper and wrapped up faster. What an exceptional dining experience from start to finish! We chose to sit outside on the beautiful patio, which created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening. The meal began with complimentary truffle popcorn, a thoughtful touch that was absolutely delicious. For starters, we enjoyed the Caesar salad and french onion soup, both of which were outstanding. The Caesar was fresh and flavorful, while the french onion soup was rich, comforting, and perfectly prepared. For my entrée, I ordered the sea bass with truffle oil, and it was cooked to perfection. The fish was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the truffle oil elevated the dish beautifully without overpowering it. The Black Orchid Martini was equally impressive--a perfect balance of tart and sweet, refreshing and expertly crafted. It was easily one of the best cocktails I've had. Pretty easy to get a reservation. The place is more casual than any steakhouses Ive been to and the food is delicious. Crab cake was so good (will order again), scallops appetizer was a bit too rich for me, the fries are close to perfect (wish they were a bit crunchier but still great nonetheless). Blue cheese crust on my husbands steak was probably the best addition and version of blue cheese addition we've had recently--love that it's a bit burnt and crunchy! We chose Ocean Prime to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, with my mother in law joining us. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, though it seemed the staff was a bit puzzled at first. They escorted us upstairs to our table, and we noticed a few curious looks. It turned out my husband had noted our anniversary on the reservation, and since we were a party of three, no one was quite sure whose anniversary it was! Once we clarified, everyone laughed, and the ice was broken -- it made for a fun start to the evening. We started with drinks, and if you enjoy a good espresso martini, I highly recommend ordering one here -- perfectly balanced and delicious. For appetizers, I had the spicy tuna sushi, which was better than many sushi restaurants I've tried. For my entrée, I chose the grouper with homemade gnocchi -- absolutely incredible, even compared to some of the best seafood spots in Florida. My husband started with the creamy lobster bisque and also ordered the grouper, while my mother had the scallops, which were large and beautifully cooked. Stopped in a very busy Ocean Prime last night and the hostess and bar staff were just the sweetest. I was having a mom son day downtown before seeing a musical and completely spaced getting a reservation anywhere. We came in to Ocean Prime at around 530pm and were initially told they didn't have any availability until 830pm. They saw the concern on my face because this had been happening everywhere we went and immediately got ahold of the bar staff to get us a spot (we needed up downstairs). The bar staff working last night (10/25/25) were the absolute best! They were so busy upstairs and down but were so accommodating. We ordered the breadbasket and it was super yummy. The kid ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and I got the surf and turf appetizer, since I saw how busy they were and I just didn't want to be late to the show! This place is definitely not cheap so if I had more time and didn't already spend a pretty penny on other things that day I'd have splurged on more food and desserts for sure! I chose it for my birthday dinner expecting the level of quality and service they were once known for, but unfortunately the entire night fell flat. For a bill close to $400, the food was underwhelming, portions and presentation felt inconsistent, and the overall experience just didn't match the price point at all. Service was also noticeably lacking compared to what I've experienced there in the past. What's most frustrating is this used to feel like a special occasion restaurant worth splurging on. This visit honestly felt overpriced and forgettable. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium experience but this was not that. This upscale fish/steakhouse doesn't disappoint! Inside, you will find a modern, warm feel, with a spacious dining room upstairs and down. We were seated upstairs, overlooking Larimer Street. We recently visited for my wife's birthday before heading to the Denver Performing Arts complex for Hamilton. Our waiter Danny was very in tune with our time constraints and started off our visit discussing these details. We started with some delicious cocktails. My wife had the Black Orchid, and I had one of their signature Old Fashioneds. Both were excellent. For an appetizer, we had the "SURF N TURF," which consisted of two scallops, a braised short rib, and a potato puree. This was perfect. The scallops were perfectly prepared and melted in your mouth, and the short rib was rich and just as tender. Our entrees were also excellent. My wife had the Florida Grouper with lobster, gnocchi, and spring peas in lemon jus. The fish was again cooked to perfection, and the jus was rich and flavorful. It was a delightful dish all around. I had the Blackened Snapper with corn spoon bread, Swiss chard, and corn emulsion. This was every bit as good as a dish you would find in a high-end fish house in the South. Danny made some fantastic wine recommendations that complemented the meals nicely and were precisely what we desired. To finish the meal, they bought my wife's dessert, the Mile High Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing and pineapple syrup. This cake was 10" tall and had about two dozen layers. We started with the calamari & bread basket and the portion of calamari was disappointing although delicious, the break basket was generous tho & indicated as baked fresh and it was pretty darn good. Our entrees are what left something to be desired. Mom & I had the scallops & risotto which had celery leaves as garnish & while it was pretty the flavor is very pronounced so it was overpowering upon taste & the risotto was overly salted and slightly dry. My husband had a ribeye that was cooked beautifully but had quite a bit of fat on it (disappointing) with a baked potato (good but not upscale great potato IYKYK) & the corn side (which pretty much salvaged the scallop dinner by tapering the salt) was very good. Our daughter had the lobster Mac n cheese which she enjoyed but again good not great. The cocktails & mocktails were delicious & fun to try.... We thought the glass wine storage was a cool feature. We started with the Prime Sliders on the kids menu for our little one. We had a Paper Plane and Yuzu Sour cocktail for drinks. Royce was awesome! He answered all of our questions and helped us come to a decision on the perfect combo for us.
