Blackened Red Snapper
Mateo K.

We tried this place with some visiting family members on a Saturday evening with a reservation before a show at DCPA. We were seated in a private room which was very nice and quiet. The service was just okay for a restaurant with four dollar signs (should be five). I expect the very best food and service at this price point. I've had better service at family style restaurants. The goat cheese ravioli was good, but not worth $23. We also tried the Brussels, smoked Gouda tater tots, and the steak tartare, neither were exceptional. $10 for a mediocre, small, lukewarm bread basket is insane when you are already paying crazy prices to eat there. It should at least be fresh and hot. I tried the Blackened Snapper with Corn Spoon Bread, Haricot Verts, Red Pepper, Corn Emulsion. It was delicious and cooked well. Although it is pretty easy to make something taste good when it's literally swimming in a butter sauce pond. All in all it was an okay experience but was the most expensive food I've ever had. It was definitely not worth the almost $900 we spent for 7 people. I usually try to stick to family owned and small businesses, because corporate chains always seem to disappoint, and this one was not an exception. There are much better options at this price point in Denver.

Pretty easy to get a reservation. The place is more casual than any steakhouses Ive been to and the food is delicious. Crab cake was so good (will order again), scallops appetizer was a bit too rich for me, the fries are close to perfect (wish they were a bit crunchier but still great nonetheless). Blue cheese crust on my husbands steak was probably the best addition and version of blue cheese addition we've had recently--love that it's a bit burnt and crunchy! Wine list has great options...tried a few different ones on their "suggested prime menu" and the reds are worth it.

Really nice experience visiting. Had a party of 10 and they seated us in a private room. The wait staff was amazing and the food was superb!

Twin Lobster Tails

Got takeout and it was great. Twin lobster tails were tender, tasty, with plenty of butter on the side, and easy to eat. The chocolate torte was soooo delicious as well. Can't wait to order from here again.

We chose Ocean Prime to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, with my mother in law joining us. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, though it seemed the staff was a bit puzzled at first. They escorted us upstairs to our table, and we noticed a few curious looks. It turned out my husband had noted our anniversary on the reservation, and since we were a party of three, no one was quite sure whose anniversary it was! Once we clarified, everyone laughed, and the ice was broken -- it made for a fun start to the evening. We started with drinks, and if you enjoy a good espresso martini, I highly recommend ordering one here -- perfectly balanced and delicious. For appetizers, I had the spicy tuna sushi, which was better than many sushi restaurants I've tried. For my entrée, I chose the grouper with homemade gnocchi -- absolutely incredible, even compared to some of the best seafood spots in Florida. My husband started with the creamy lobster bisque and also ordered the grouper, while my mother had the scallops, which were large and beautifully cooked. We finished the evening with their warm butter cake -- it literally melted in our mouths. The service throughout the night was attentive and impressive. As we drove home, we all said the same thing: "Why don't we come here more often?" Thank you, Ocean Prime, for an amazing evening and a memorable anniversary celebration.

Black Orchid cocktail

What an exceptional dining experience from start to finish! We chose to sit outside on the beautiful patio, which created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening. The meal began with complimentary truffle popcorn, a thoughtful touch that was absolutely delicious. For starters, we enjoyed the Caesar salad and french onion soup, both of which were outstanding. The Caesar was fresh and flavorful, while the french onion soup was rich, comforting, and perfectly prepared. For my entrée, I ordered the sea bass with truffle oil, and it was cooked to perfection. The fish was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the truffle oil elevated the dish beautifully without overpowering it. The Black Orchid Martini was equally impressive--a perfect balance of tart and sweet, refreshing and expertly crafted. It was easily one of the best cocktails I've had. A special thank you to our server, Mark, who made the experience even more memorable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and provided attentive, professional service throughout the meal. Between the lovely patio setting, outstanding food and drinks, and exceptional service, this was a truly five-star experience. I can't wait to return!

Red Bird Farms Chicken

I very rarely order chicken when I eat out but I decided to try something different than times past while dining at OP. Let me say it did not disappoint. It was very juicy and flavorful. I am not a fan of chicken breasts but if they all tasted like this I would change my mind. :) Delicious!!! And the spinach bread salad was the perfect compliment to the dish. I sat at the bar and Mike was amazing. Gave great recommendations when ordering and was friendly and funny with everyone at the bar. A great meal for sure! @oceanprimelarimersquare, #oceanprime, #acameronmitchellreataurant, #greatfood

Always a fun place for good quality drinks and exceptional food , we sat in the bar area and enjoyed cocktails and champagne and complimentary truffle popcorn.

Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned -$20 - Excellent!

Came in with a party of four for a local business event. Had a great time, lots of options and took care of one person that had some dietary restrictions. I had the Salmon and it was large in size and definitely with a few shared sides plenty for me :-) Had the yummy Old Fashioned and service was top notch throughout our stay. Nice area around the location and would love to come back if in town. Prices are in line with other top locations around the country, and the service and options they provide :-)

Ribeye (16oz)

Amazing atmosphere not only at its location with proximity to larimer square but also the decor and environment inside. Our server was great, very friendly and energetic but not overbearing either. Got us a few items waived with discount too. Food itself was also delicious. The warm bread basket was a big surprise, a variety of bread freshly made and extremely soft. Steak and sides were amazing!

Possibly the best ahi tartare ever
Bruce E.

Our group of 6 was met promptly and guided to large comfortable table that made conversation easy. Soon a delicious crab cake arrive and cooked as request. Also there was possibly the best ahi tuna tartare I've ever tasted. Next was a blackened red snapper which was cooked perfectly as well but the star was a beautiful grouper with lobster, gnocchi, spring peas and a hint of lemon jus Dessert were good but the surprise star was a peanut butter pie with a deep chocolate shell. Everyone at the table had a fork out for a second bite of it. Service was attentive and relaxed. A great evening with great food

Also the fact that from what I could tell the speciality here for drinks is their espresso martinis which I am a huge fan of. The overall vibes and decor did not disappoint! They had dim lighting with red and spooky decor including a coffin you could take pictures in. First night we came here we snagged some bar seats and received stellar service from all the bartenders but Michelle in particular made us feel like regulars and we had a great time chatting with her. We ended up booking a reservation and revisiting a second time because the drinks and service were so great! With the spot being busy during both our visits the bartenders expertly handled the chaos like it was nothing, very impressive. They had so many good sounding special espresso martinis it was tough to pick. My wife loved the red velvet the most and also enjoyed a pumpkin spice too. I sampled a variety including Tiramisu, Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies & Cream, and a S'mores version. All of them had incredible flavor and I don't think I could pick a favorite honestly. That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

My mother and I had booked a reservation for two. We walked in and waited a good 5 minutes till anyone even noticed we walked in. After finally seeing us we were seated at a table in the corner. Right as we were about to order the hostess (a brunette with glasses) walked up asking if we would move tables so she could seat a walk-in party of 8. We accommodate despite being confused as to why a walk-in had priority over our prior made reservation. This is when things got bad. We were seated in a middle table between two other parties. We could not hear each other whatsoever. After 10 minutes, we realized no one was sitting at our original table. My mom asked why we had to move and she said the party of eight decided not to come in. We asked to be moved back to our original table so we could hear each other better in converse. This was met with an eye roll and hostility, saying she had other people she wanted to seat there but if we were so insistent, we could move back. We moved back to the other table. My mom had her drink brought to her and as soon as they arrived at the table, the woman with locks in a bun (Savana) asked to see my ID. Mind you I had not ordered a drink. I handed over my ID and she looked at it then said I'm taking this into the back. No explanation at all. I was astonished. I've never had a bartender remove my ID from my hand and take it all the way to the back. This made me extremely uncomfortable as it has personal information on it. Who knows what they were even doing with my ID in the back. When the host came back to our table, I simply asked why they took my ID into the back. She immediately got ridiculously defensive. She began to state this was common protocol to remove someone's ID completely and take it to the back. I questioned why that would ever happen and why they didn't bring the manager out to look at my ID. My mom called them out for it being coincidental that they started treating us bad after we complained about our table being moved. This is when the hostess told us we were "being rude and being disrespectful". The host then continued to escalate the conversation by overly saying how "rude" we had been. We repeatedly tried to shut the conversation down, but she continued over and over again. After, the host eventually left our table of the women seated next to us leaned over to say they were also in shock at the hostess's behavior. We paid our $20 check and left. Overall, the staff were horrible. I will never be coming back here and will warn every one of the horrible service. I'm disgusted and in complete shock I even spent $20 on a drink just to be treated like trash.

The entire area is beautifully designed and feels like a high-end cocktail bar without being pretentious. They also wanted to make sure us as well as other parties knew us enjoyed their cocktails they ordered and would change them out if that was not the case (which did happen to a table next to us). Really a text book example of what you want from service! Cocktail wise my wife and I knew we needed to sample more than one each. Some more traditional offerings but a lot of unique drinks on their menu. I first tried Ghost Machine, imagine a spicy cocktail mixed with a refreshing watermelon to bring you that relief, excellent! She thought the mint brought a shamrock shake flavor to it. Secondly I had a bartender riff on a paper plane which was great as well.
