Talk about a fun whole in the wall spot. This place was walking distance to our hotel and after reviewing their many grilled cheese options while scouting we area, we decided to hit up the place one night. Talk about cute. What hits you right away is the decor. It is fun, bright, and everywhere. This place is geared to 80s and 90s babies and I fit right in. For food they have many fancy grilled cheese options along with other snacks like rice krispies, chocolate, and chips. They have craft beers (yum), but no liquor. A band from NY was playing the night I went, so there was a small cover that went to the band to help with their travel. No biggie. The were talented, charismatic, and funny. This place is big. There's several indoor areas and also a patio. There's several video games which totally took me back so I had to partake in. This place has it all! Very cute concept and a good time. read more

This place is very cute with arcade games and crazy beer. They do not brew their own. They also have gourmet cheese sandwiches. I did not get to try the sandwiches, but I had a key lime sour, that was really good. The bartender gave me a taste before I had it. Had no idea this cute place was here! The place is huge, with lots of nooks and crannies. Craft beer and lots of gourmet grilled cheese options, including design-your-own are available; a wide variety of arcade and carnival-type games spread throughout- most are $1 a player, which might be the only downside- particularly if you go through games fast. Hit the happy hour for $2 "dad" beers and half price grilled cheese sandwiches. They call them grilled cheese but I don't really think they are. I had the 4x4 sandwich which was four meats and four cheeses. I also had about six of the 16 oz $2 Naragannsett beers which made for a damn good evening. Still the best grilled cheese in St. Aug! The vibe is quirky and fun, and the staff is pleasant and non-pretentious. They have expanded their drink menu to include Kombucha on tap and Kenyan coffee from a local business down the street, and local produce. If you're interested in kombucha, there's now a dedicated tap for three flavors from Gnarbucha (Jacksonville based). This 'booch is the best I've had in the first coast area. I've heard that their milkshakes are to die for as well. During our most recent visit, I had the Kimberly (as always) and my husband had the Sarbez Melt. They no longer sub Oreos for the default Lays Classic chips, but the chef offered apple slices instead. I gladly agreed. Both sandwiches were great with generous portions. This is one of those one-of-a-kind type places. It's definitely home to the hipsters, but give it a shot regardless. They have an interesting tap list on the wall, but also carry a variety of "normal" bottles and cans in the fridge! They not only have a detached arcade which you must exit the initial storefront and go through the back yard to get to (it had pinball, ski ball, racing games, big buck, and others), but it has a small handful of other games in the actual bar/grilled cheese sandwich restaurant including darts and billiards. Occasionally there is a cover because a live band is playing, but it's a good time regardless. Now the grilled cheese menu: it's quite extensive. My friends and I chose the Tommy Pickles and we were just mutual feeling about it. The pickles are still quite large of chunks so when you bite the sandwich, pickles squish out the other side. They should be sliced for a better, cleaner experience. I love what they're going for here, but could use a little more thought/training. read more

Tempeh Reuben is a good substitute for a corned beef sandwich, but definitely doesn't satisfy my craving for the real thing. Hashton Kutcher is excellent, but very fatty. My boyfriend and I are vacation in St. Augustine and our waitress last suggested this place! As soon as we parked we were welcomed with the beautiful artwork outside. When we went inside, nostalgia hit us with all the cool arcade games like Pac-Man, space invaders, pin ball machines! We were greeted by the lovelies Madison & Magdalena, who kindly told us about their menu and made us feel welcome! They have a nice selection of craft beers & wine. And they're known for their grilled cheese. So yummy!! I had the Tommy Pickles grilled cheese that pickles, local mustard with was delicious, cheddar cheese on Rye bread. My boyfriend custom made his sandwich with smoked Gouda, bacon, turkey on White with some spicy mayo! Can you say comfort food!!! Loved the atmosphere and vibes! The owner who is an artist decorates the place frequently and makes use of random objects for different purposes around the store! Would love to come back and I highly recommend for a good time! I read another review and heard about all the grilled cheese choices and the fact they had arcade games and draughts. I'm in! This was a great place for the family (before 8 when it gets more adult and bar-like). Kids live grilled cheese (mine do at least) and heck so do I. While we waited for the order we were able to play arcade games including a great selection of pinball machines (Iron Maiden and Star Wars!). I got the Tommy Pickles and a sour beer. Delicious. Usually I love places like this, but I was disappointed: very slow service, average beer selection and just OK grilled cheese sandwiches. Considering that the place was not busy and we had to wait for an hour just to get our sandwiches - will not come back and do not recommend this place. This place opens at noon and we arrived a couple of minutes before that with three hungry kids and patiently waited outside. At noon we could see people inside but they didn't open. We waited for a while and were about to cross the street to the chicken place when a delivery man that was apparently trying to deliver something there asked us if they were open and when we said no he went to the service door and they let him in and then someone came over and opened the door with no apology for the late opening or even a hello. We went to the counter to order and waited several minutes there before a woman came and took our order. The appetizer we wanted was not available so we went straight to the grilled cheese. After ordering we sat down to wait and the food arrived in good time. It was all pretty good. We then played a few games which we really enjoyed. The pinball machines were especially fun. Some of their tables have old tvs and vhs players along with an extensive vhs library. We chose Aladdin to watch with a few friends and drafts.
