I could never do this place justice! If I could live off of grilled cheese and beer I would gladly make the hour drive from my home every freaking day! Some of their tables have old tvs and vhs players along with an extensive vhs library. We chose Aladdin to watch with a few friends and drafts. Outdoor space is neat and they have some great vintage arcade games. It is definitely a great vegetarian spot with several options. read more

Came here with my husband after a concert and we were pleasantly surprised with the service & food! Of course the place is cool and gives me Austin , TX vibes :) The person at the counter taking the orders, was running the orders , busing , and everything in between. I don't think they realized how busy it was going to be especially for one of the cooler places in the area and after a Paramore concert lol. He's was outstanding and so was the food! read more

The place is awesome. A lot of fun. Grilled cheese was fantastic and they had an IPA from Louisiana that was amazing. I hardly ever do this, but this place deserves it. read more

stopped in for lunch. Tons of kids running and yelling as it is mostly an arcade. The juke box & arcade games were very noisy. Probably a good place for parents to bring kids. Our sandwiches were fine but the noise was crazy loud. Not a great experience for us. read more

Spent two days in St Augustine and found myself at this place both days! Amazing unique munchies , beer (can't ask for much more else!), and an insanely entertaining atmosphere with so much to see and games things to do!! Super fun place and amazing food and drink. I loved the Sarbez melt which I paired with pineapple cider. Don't miss!!

So happy to find this place! Adorable, fun arcade theme with best grilled cheese ever! Cute outside patio, eclectic inside. Friendly staff!

Sarbez is a great place for live music, although for probably about 50 people comfortably? I enjoyed the video games, food, atmosphere and of course the live bands who participated. The layout of the establishment is conducive to an enjoyable night. There is a separate video games, pinball room with its own restroom (two total). Plenty of seating, back outdoor lounge area with dartboard game. The food focuses on a variety of grilled cheese sandwich options. The drinks are great and staff hospitality is excellent. It's a cozy place for locals and visitors. All ages are welcome when appropriate. read more

Cool joint! Enjoyed the arcade games. Loved our grilled cheese sandwiches. Sarbez Melt for him pineapple, jalapeño, broccoli, and mozzarella on wheat for me. Perfect topping to cheese ratio and bread was super crispy. Sarbez sauce has a nice kick. Maddie was good company and helpful. Will definitely be back next week! read more

Delicious and inclusive food with a super cool atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in town. Take cash for the arcade games!

Great food, nice atmosphere and the staff is friendly. We've been here a few times during the day and have enjoyed it

How's that for an EPIC grilled cheese?! I stopped in after a night on the town, and I'd heard that their grilled cheese sandwich was AMAZEBALLS so I asked to order one. Little did I know that's the only food item on the menu and their grilled cheese options runneth over. (Cue the blank stare I got) OK... So I regrouped and ordered the "Kimberly" sandwich because it looked great and it's my mom's name. Remember, it was a late night so "mom's name" was as good a reason as any! LOL! Well, my random shot in the dark was a WIN! The sandwich was friggin' incredible! I had a bite of my friend's "Sarbez" sandwich and it was great also. Almost immediately after ordering, I realized I should have actually looked at the menu for more than two seconds and ordered the "Wakin' Bacon" as I'm a sucker for breakfast food by nature (and even more so AFTER breakfast hours; especially at night). But oh well, I guess I'll just have to make my way back soon. If you are ever in "St. Auggie doggie," you'll definitely want to make it your mission to ease your way across the Bridge of Lions and look for Planet Sarbez on the right! You won't be disappointed. Trust me! read more

What can I say about this place? It's awesome. Came in here during Sing Out Loud and was super impressed. If you want a place that is fun, weird, and kinda divey, this is the place. My only regret is I didn't get one of their grilled cheese sammiches. Next time though, I'm getting cheesy. The decor is all over the place. And I like it. The backdrop is scattered with bright vibrant colors and 80's/90's memorabilia. For example. behind the bar there are a bunch of cassettes making up most of the wall and in the game room the arches were decorated with VHS tapes. If you go into the garden in the back, they even used old paint cans for planters. Pretty cool if you ask me. Outside of all this, the bar had a lot of old school video games to play. For example, there is a "World's Biggest Pacman" you can play on a giant LED tv. In the game room itself they had a bunch of pinball games, a ski-ball game, and even an air hockey table. There is also a stage in the main room for bands to play. Honestly, this place is just really different and awesome. Will definitely come back on our next trip to St. Augustine. read more

Real cool place to hang out. Friendly bartenders, cool owner. Lots of weird art, local original music, and cool places to hang. Smoking area outside. Real relaxed place. A pool table, foozeball, and shufflebord too. I saw some video game consoles too. They have some food, coffee and a real nice beer selection on tap. Beer served in mason jars. read more

This place has the most amazing grilled cheeses ever. We found this place by accident (there was a 1h 45min wait at a seafood restaurant next door and we were starving.) We walked down the sidewalk, saw this unusual but interesting looking venue, and Yelped it. Grilled cheese sandwiches?! SOLD! We originally came in to get a snack to hold us over until we were seated, but we ended up ordering 3 sandwiches and shared 1 big bag of chips. Each bite of my Wakin' Bacon sandwich was an orgasmic combination of ooey-gooey cheese, perfectly cooked bacon, and eggs perfectly sandwiched between two delectable and super buttery pieces of toast. Amazing. When we go down to St Augustine, we have to visit that previously mentioned seafood spot 99.999999% of the time. Not anymore. Planet Sarbez has definitely placed themselves on our radar, and we will be making specific trips down to St Augustine for their grilled cheese sandwiches. read more

Grilled cheese just got off the chain! Planet Sarbez ups the ante on an American staple by offering not only.house recommended custom grilled cheese sandwiches but an amazing selection of ingredients so you can build your own...including Li'l Debbie Zebra Cakes. In case you didn't notice Sarbez is Zebras spelled backwards, and yes a grilled cheese with a Zebra Cake has in fact been ordered and made before although you will not find it on the menu anywhere. My experience here was pure joy from beginning to end. The decor alone keeps you busy for quite sometime. This place screams 5-star dive bar. The level of food and craft beer is incredibly high and the decor and fixtures are not. Don't get me wrong here. The place is clean. The fixtures are the charm of the place. For instance, the walls that are covered with cassette tapes, LPs, and VHS tapes boast a sizeable collection and make for unique wallpaper. There is also a stage for live music. The owner makes a point to brag about the success of open mike nights. I had a great time perusing the place and the menu. The owner was incredibly cordial, helpful, and knowledgeable about the local area. The food was unique and absolutely amazing. I would argue that they should make their own potato chips instead of using the Lays single serve bags. If they can make a sandwich this amazing, surely they can pull off potato chips fit for a foodie. Never-the-less it's a 5-star experience all the way. I highly recommend Planet Sarbez. read more

This bar is SO FUN. Sarbez! has a huge inside area with room to eat, drink and jam out to your favorite bands and an outside patio area with a secret door to an arcade. It isn't on the downtown square, but it's definitely a MUST on your list when you visit St. Augustine and less than a mile away from the historic district. They also have really good sandwiches and a large selection of various beer/mead. The employees are super friendly and amazingly attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

This place is a must go if you go across the bridge. Very cool, eclectic vibe with great food and beer. There's also an arcade!

My family loves to come here. Usually get drink were I'm a designated driver. I end up getting a root beer and playing games. The last couple times I have been here. I have gotten burned grilled cheese. As well as terrible customer service. This one particular bartender. Is always in a pissed off mood and talks venomously. She has refused to open a tab before. Also, talking down to me and my family. Her hostility is aggravating and makes me not want to come here anymore. read more

What a colorful place! The first thing you notice when you walk in. My boyfriend was CRAVING hotdogs. So we looked up local restaurants on Google and fell upon this place. Total laid back vibe and the food was really good! I don't normally think "yes, I'll have a grilled cheese WITH MANGOES ON IT". It's one of those instances where you go to bed, have a really weird dream and you're like "woah that was effed up" but the dream became a reality and it was like the best decision ever made... like a pickle disguised as a hotdog wrapped in cheese, deep fried then topped with an aioli sauce. Seriously? The man liked that more than the normal beef hot dog. It was SO GOOD! And he shuns vegetarian meals... usually. Beers are pretty good. A little something for everyone. Families are welcome and it's totally enjoyable. Look, if I lived in St. Augustine, this would be my local watering hole. And I would not say something like that... that's just how cool this place is. I loved the charm. Keep going with the biz! It's a gem! read more

We stopped here after the fireworks on the 4th. The place was primarily filled with college age people, so the atmosphere was pretty young. The staff was courteous to us (family of four with young kids) and we were served promptly. We tried four different grilled cheese sandwiches - the green ranger, yellow ranger, basic smoked Gouda, and a mango sandwich. All were decent and reasonably priced for a sandwich. The boiled peanuts were pretty good but too spicy for everyone but me. The variety of beer was also decent. We were able to find a local brew that we enjoy. The band (Remedy Tree) that night was pretty good and had the patrons dancing. read more

My best friend is a local, so when I came to town on vacation for the first time she took me to all of her favorite spots. Sarbez blew them all out of the water! I'm already a grilled cheese fanatic, but they truly take it to another level. SOOOOOOO perfect, no matter what you order! They have a great drink selectionThe atmosphere is also just super cool and nostalgic and radiates good vibes. Every time I'm in town I make sure to hit this place up at more than once! read more

Went to this spot to try the dairy free grilled cheese. The staff member told me that if the sandwich does get dairy on it/ regular cheese on it that it will get "cooked off" so you'd be fine after I told her about allergy. Lol no and they cook cheese sandwiches on same area as non dairy. They are not dairy free. You'd definitely get regular cheese on your sandwich. I ended up eating elsewhere. Poor customer service. read more

Do not miss out on Sarbez. Locally owned by a Flagler Grad, this place is mesmerizing. You can spend and hour looking at the detail of the decor, all hand built and original. Great cheery vibes and a welcoming hip atmosphere. The food is incredible. Grilled cheese done better then anyone else. This guy lives to build a great environment and he has succeeded. Great beer selection. Bravo Sarbez, I hope you find your way up to Jax Beach. read more

I am over the moon excited this place made it through Covid!!! We are vacationing in a few weeks in the area and will be bringing the whole family this time!! Owner is wonderful! Place is unique! I went here on feb 20, it was late the bar was about to close however, I just wanted to play one more game. Took a walk over the bridge last night and came upon this place. Craft beers and grilled cheese! If, like me, you've been in St Augustine for a couple of days and you're looking for something better than crappy fast food and less pricey than a full sit down restaurant, this place is great. I was quite happy with the beer selection, and the sandwich was good too! Probably more expensive than it would be at home, but pretty reasonable in the context of what they charge for food in saint Augustine. Cool fun decor, definitely bringing my kids here when I'm back with them. And, contrary to what I have read in other reviews, I found the staff to be perfectly friendly/ professional/ whatever. Basically I was glad I came across this place and have no complaints. read more

Looked forward to coming her for months, I was let down. Sandwiches were good, not great, and small. $11 on average with a small bag of chips. Service was not good. The person that brought the food out asked us to open the sandwiches to see who had what. Person who took our order not attentive and seemed put off. Last time I leave a tip before I leave. 20% for crap service not going to happen again. I have learned my lesson, stop paying tips before your leave the establishment. read more
