Brought out food, and spilled 'juice' on the floor from my plate of Nachos. Food was so so. Beef on my Nachos was watery, had no Mexican flavor at all, and way too salty. This restaurant is located in Clovis, on the border of Fresno. Parking can be challenging during the prime hours of the evening. You might have to park further down the block to find an open space. The service was very good and attentive. The chips and salsa was a nice touch upon arrival. I ordered the steak burrito and was a bit disappointed that the steak didn't seem marinated and was a bit plain for the taste. The dish was larger than expected though. Big fail. Last time I'll be here. Seated at 6:30pm got our food at 7:40. During that time the table on our left and right were seated, ordered and finished their meals. Our server never asked us for water and we had to ask several times for water. Never got napkins and I grabbed them myself from the bar. When we got our waters never got refills. Had to ask for chips. Had to ask them to clear our appetizer plates and drinks. And the whole time all the female servers were at the bar chatting and gossiping. This was the WORST service ever that I can recall and I'm pretty chill. I never do this but when I checked out I left ZERO tip. The food was ok, not worth going back. The prices are kinda of inflated for what it is. If you really want true Mexican food there are plenty of other places to try. But I'm the chili relleno with mushrooms is good. Drinks are kind of weak- got the fruit margarita and was a little disappointed. For 16$ I would expect a nice kick of tequila. The service is great though and the servers are nice. And i feel like it stays consistently busy so it must be good for some people. They also don't let you split checks and they charge to split entrees. read more

Service: we were greeted once we entered and placed at a dirty table which was cleaned after we sat down and the table was broken with screws poking out and wobbly chairs. Our server greeted us placed our drink order and we asked for guac to go with our chips and salsa that was very watery and came back 15 minutes later for our food order in which we still didn't receive the guac. After we received our food we didn't see didn't see her again for about 15 minutes when she asked us how we were doing and walked away quickly. Upon eating my food I found I did not enjoy the tacos as they were very inauthentic and bland with moist lettuce and I express my lack of enjoyment for the tacos and the waitress said there is nothing she can do about it and I should've told her earlier. I had one bite of the tacos. Food: food is very inauthentic and anyone reviewing that it is authentic doesn't eat much Mexican / Hispanic food. Very gentrified down to the rice. Rice and beans edible but nothing to rave over and tacos are very disappointing. Not worth $16 plate. Guac was almost $10 and was very bland almost like mushed up Avocado with a few onions thrown in was left barely touched. As you can see in the photos I did eat the rice and beans as they were edible but was very unhappy with my tacos and this is exactly how I left them. $16 for an inedible plate of food. First and probably last visit. Service was pretty good, drinks came promptly but had to remind the server several times for a glass of water. Chips and salsa were refilled promptly. The Cadillac Margaritas were ok..tasted like they came from a premixed bottle. We got jalapeno poppers as an appetizer and they were the strangest poppers I've ever seen. Huge peppers in a muddy brown coating. My husband got the chicken fajitas, said they were so-so. I ordered one of the chili rellano dinners and could eat 2-3 bites. The coating was burnt dark brown, not the fluffy batter coating one usually expects from a chili rellano. Others in our party seemed ok with their dinners. Just underwhelmed in general. read more

My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for quite a few years now and it has been great up until the last two. In my opinion the quality of the food had gone down hill. Tonight, was not busy at all, and I got the grilled chicken chimichanga. The waitress said the plates were hot. Maybe, but the food (chimichanga, rice and beans) were not hot. The chimichanga was overcooked. The chicken was over seasoned. Wife enjoyed her food but said it wasn't hot either. But we didn't complain, got the check and paid. Btw, they charge a $1.89 fee for using a debit card. We also ordered a chile relleno burrito to go for my daughter. As she was eating it she found a large piece of some kind of plastic wrapper about 3 inches in length and about an inch wide. I took it back to the restuarant, spoke to the lady in charge, showed her the burrito, explained our whole experience this evening, and she said "Well do you want another one or a credit?" I'm thinking to myself 'Really??' I told her to do whatever you think will remedy this situation. She spoke to the owner and the owner advised giving a refund just for the burrito and that's it. Are you kidding? Had I been the owner I would have refunded the whole meal. The entire meal! Do you think we'll be going back after this? Nope. We're done. Would you? I recently had a burger at another restaurant nearby that was way undercooked, like bloody bun undercooked. They didn't charge a dime. Why? Because it was a bad experience. They refunded our whole experience so that we would come back. They failed and they made it right, and we go back to the restaurant. Because they cared. Salsa's failed and didn't give a sh*t. They don't care. So now my wife and I don't care to return. So to the owner; in my opinion, if you want to continue being just another crappy restaurant (and there's quite few in the Old Town Clovis area that just plain stink now) serving mediocre food and lose customers, then keep doing what you're doing. I've had good experiences here before but the other night my wife's plate of enchiladas had been microwaved so long that she could not even cut through the cheese in itit. They apologized and said they would replace it asap... 20,minutes later,nothing. During that wait ,I found a toothpick size piece of plastic in my food. I asked to see the manager and reported all of this. She apologized and came back with our check and magnanimously announced that she had comped my wife's enchilada. Wow. (I've never been impressed with their salsa as it has no heat or freshness, and tastes like a commercial jar salsa, but their entrees always made up for it!!) But today I ordered my favorite dish, and the meat was dry, rice was dry, and the refried beans were pasty and inedible (tasted like they were straight out of a can!) service was decent, but $50 for two lunches, it will be awhile before we go again. Some of the best Mexican food Clovis can offer at a reasonable price for being a restaurant. Have had the burritos, fajitas, fish tacos, and carnitas. The star of their restaurant is their empanadas. Any of the ones you choose will be great. A lot of their sides taste homemade such as their beans and tortillas and of course salsa. The service is quite attentive and they are on top of it when they can for being such a young staff. At times they may need reminding because it can get quite busy on the weekends! The interior of salsas is clean and very homey! If you're thinking about going on the weekend prepare for a wait just in case. Get the margarita while you wait for the food. :) read more

I've been coming to salsas for years now. The food is amazing, the drinks are god awful. This is alarming because the first time I ate here about 4 years ago I had consistently amazing margaritas, then something changed. Their margs taste fake and cheap, no quality ingredients there. If you want to order a "skinny margarita" they don't have any simple syrup or agave syrup to add so you basically have to choke down a warm glass of lime juice and tequila. I would have given this a half star but the food is so good I couldn't bring myself to do it.
