After running a 5K I got a little hungry and called in an order for a chorizo, papas, eggs & bean burrito. It was ready within 10 minutes. The red salsa was spicy just how I like it. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. read more

I pass by here on my way home from work and keep saying I'm going to stop and thankfully today I did! This place is amazing!! I ordered carne asada and carnitas tacos, carne asada burrito, beans, rice, chips and salsa , everything was amazing. The meats are tender, flavors all blend well and are very tasty. Rice is awesome and we said it's the best beans ever. Our order was ready quick, it's going to be a good place to go for lunch also. So looking forward to going back again read more

This is my favorite Fresno taco spot. If you get tacos here you have to get the grande tacos. They had about 7 or 8 meat choices. But the grande has cheese, onion, cilantro, avacado anddddd beans but they're cooked right. You can tell these ladies cook for you the way they cook for their own families! I've been coming here for over 7 years and so glad it still tastes just as good now as it did back then! read more

Taco Grande - Lengua and Al pastor grande tacos - Mexican Near Me - Fresno, California

Looking a for a little hole in the wall place, this is a good place for tacos and burritos. I got a breakfast burrito #6, I could eat that again. It was big, wish it was wrapped a little tighter but still kept together throughout. The green sauce is really good the red sauce is super spicy, lacking some salt to elevate it. I also got chips and salsa, the salsa is just pico, not impressed, but after adding some red and some greens sauce, it was good. At 830 in the morning it was pretty packed. The lady at the counter is super nice, speaks English and Spanish, which is always great! Was super helpful with ordering, even though the menu was pretty self explanatory. I was talking to one of the customers and he said he comes here at least 2 times a month just for the tacos grandes. He definitely recommends those. I was already too full after the burrito. The place was pretty clean all around. No buildup around the walls. It could use a face lift, but with this economy, I can understand. read more

Yummy burritos - tasty menudo and wonderful staff! We stopped by Taco grande on a Saturday afternoon and we are so glad we did. The burritos are huge, carne asada is my favorite. And the food comes out so fast. Staff were so accommodating and nice - we def will be back soon! read more

Top tier asada, solid flagship taco. Breakfast burritos are also top tier. I haven't tried much else but I know if I'm in the area and want good asada tacos that come with avocado and beans!! Taco Grande is the spot. read more

I've seen this place for years but had not tried it until yesterday. I walked in, it wasn't busy, the restaurant was quiet and very clean. I was immediately greeted by the staff. They asked what I wanted to order. I asked what was on the tiny tacos. She said meat of choice, salsa, onions and cilantro. I told her I wanted four but no cilantro. I asked if they had verde salsa, she said yes and asked how many I wanted. I asked if there was a charge for them (I know some restaurants charge for them) and she said no. I got them to go. My order was ready very quick and when I took the first bite I experienced a flavor explosion. These tacos were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant. Great staff, quick service and reasonable prices. I will return again and again! read more

COVID-19 phase: My mother ordered 2 Grande Platos with chicken and jalapeños. The worker asked burrito or plate. The worker spoke very little English and wasn't very nice. She said it would be ready 10 minutes. We went to get it! Workers are masked and they are required to enter. They do take out only and the restaurant shows that in not the cleanest manner. You will see in pics. The plate charge on the yelp menu is different from on the app. It is more on their menu in the restaurant from what is on Yelp. FYI everyone! The order was ready. We got it and left after finding out why the price was higher than on the app. My Grande Platos plate looked really tasty and it was delicious! The chicken was shredded, tender and really good! It came with pinto beans and those were great. The rice was too! It also came with a flour tortilla that looked homemade and tasted really great making it into a little burrito with everything that I got with it. Good salsa too! Plus, it is a lot of food! Two meals in one order! My mother thought hers was good and liked the flavor. There were no jalapeños in it like requested, but, luckily, it was still really good! Not sure if I was charged either. A receipt was not given. Hope not. Delicious lunch! The food was very good! read more

I've been coming to Taco Grande for years and have been a fan for quite some time. I haven't been here in a while since I stopped working in Fresno years ago, but I was in the area and craving some tacos so I dropped in. Taco Grande did not disappoint. It was as tasty as ever and still made fresh to order. The Asada tastes exactly like I remember. It tastes like someone barbecued it and chopped it up then threw in some melted cheese, whole beans, pico de Gallo and topped it with avocado. Man this place is crazy good. Service is great as well. They really do appreciate their clientele. read more

My first time here and it did not disappoint. I came because I wanted a breakfast burrito to go and I was at the Target nearby. The #4 chili verde breakfast burrito was generous in size, reasonably priced and delicious! When I got back home, after a short drive, the burrito was still nice and hot. I chose the green salsa but didn't even try it yet as I wanted to taste the chili verde spicing first. It was muy bueno. Don't come here for fine dining, but if you want some tasty fresh made food this is your place. read more

This was my first time back since moving back to the area. It was delicious as always & service was great. El Taco Grande has been serving up yummy food for 30 years. The inside has about 7 tables, it's a tight fit. They don't skimp on portions whatsoever. The Tortas and burritos are very popular items. They have a variety of bottled & canned sodas along with beer. If you happen to be in the area check them out. Support local. Happy National Burrito Day (First Thursday of April) read more

Taco Grande - Happy customer - Mexican Near Me - Fresno, California

The guy on weekends wouldn't give me additional sauce. I never had to pay for it, the nice ladies during the week always give us extra. Been going to this place for years. This is ridiculous, for spending $30 you don't get extra sauce, only 2 tiny containers of green and 2 of red, that's a joke! read more

My 200th review is in: Seedy strip mall with homeless camped out right outside a liquor store, you'll want to keep your eyes out. The parking lot is tightly cramped and I suspect the odds of getting hit are statistically high here. The restaurant appeared to be well kept. I enjoyed the taco I had but felt the burrito could have been a better value. The onion and cilantro was plopped to one side and not evenly distributed throughout the burrito. At over $7.00, it had no cheese, lettuce, or sour cream. I like more texture in my food. The pork verde meat was good but I could taste none of the green Verde sauce and it was pretty bland overall. The staff was pretty friendly and I will give them another try sometime. One thing I did really like was that the tortilla was perfectly steamed, hot and soft. A nice touch that a lot of places no longer bother with. I'm full now and await for the hunger cycle to begin again in a few hours from now. Sigh... I tried this place on a whim and it far exceeded my expectations. I ordered the burrito grande with asada meat and my bf ordered the taco grande with al pastor. We got our food in less than 15 minutes and it was warm and fresh! The asada meat in my burrito was tender which really surprised because other places I've tried have hard chewy asada meat. So right away, I was already impressed. Additionally , the beans, rice, cheese, and avocado made it all the more flavorful and fulfilling! The flavor was on point and the burrito was huge! It was well worth the money ($9). Now on to the tacos. I personally think they are overpriced. It's a little over $3 for 1 taco and my bf bought 2 and it did not fill him up. But personally, they were really good (according to him). Their Al Pastor was a little more liquidy than he was used to but he really liked the tenderness of the meat and the flavor/seasoning. They also had red hot sauce and Chile verde hot sauce in squirt bottles. These have to be the best tasting hot sauces I've ever tried and I've tried many Mexican restaurants. The red hot sauce especially had so much flavor and a good kick of spiciness. The peppers tasted roasted/smoked which I absolute love!!! The service was also amazing! The cashier was super nice and informative when we asked about the food items. They also came to check up on us and give us the hot sauce bottles. Very very good customer service! I will definitely be coming back to this place! It's a hidden gem. I highly recommend it! read more

This place is great. Our go to spot for breakfast burritos. The chili verde is on point. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Greedy portions ! Soggy 8$ chicken Tortas! Coming here not once but twice no improvement. I suggest you save your money and go elsewhere.

I was introduced to Taco Grande from a friend, and instantly became a fan. It's probably the avocado on the taco that did it for me. They are a bit pricier than say, Lola's or Al's Rico's, but worth a try if it's your first time. I then transitioned to the burrito, which I felt was more bang for my buck. That is, until I discovered the nachos. OMG! These nachos are absolutely to die for. Best I've ever had. I know every time I order them, I'm going to get heartburn, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Of all the meats I've tried them with, I only don't recommend the chilli verde if you're not a fast eater, because the chips will get soggy pretty quickly. And for the price, you get a huge plate. So bring your Rolaids, or Pepsid, because you're going to be feeling the burn later. Today, I came for a breakfast burrito, and made the mistake of taking the burrito out of the foil to cool it down, because it was super hot. The burrito slowly started to drip, and was too hot to rewrap. So I suggest you keep it wrapped, and you're going to have a hot mess on your hands. Imabigdeal@yelp.com read more

DONT GO HERE! Such a RIP OFF!!! Less meat MORE in price! Such a rip off!!! Not worth it plus they charge $1.89 for card use and NO sign stating it! The medium burrito was not worth $11 and a lot of beans and rice and NO MEAT!!! GARBAGE! Avoid this place!!!! read more

I'm surprised that this restaurant doesn't have 4-5 stars. If you love carne asada tacos.. this is the place to buy charbroiled style. It's usually hard for me to find carne asada that I like. It was my first time coming to this place yesterday. The cashier lady was really nice. I got 2 medium asada tacos with beans and rice. The tacos are big and delicious. The meat quality is good not cheap. About medium cooked so definitely not hard and rubbery tasting like other places. Thinly sliced. Seasoned perfectly!! I was very happy. I'll be passing by at least once a week. Glad I found Taco Grande. read more

So glad I decided to try this place. I thought our only local option for a quick taco run was Robertitos. Great service! Our family tried the tacos, burritos, and tortas. Good quality meat. I've been eating at Taco Grande for ages. The staff are very friendly and respectful. They serve the best Mexican food in my opinion. I used to go to the old location on Bullard and 168 all the time until they closed. Found this location the other day and I've been back twice since then. Love this place. I like how they use pinto beans instead of refined beans. Also, their pico is bomb. Don't sleep on a Taco Grande read more

I first discovered this place about a year ago. I love the way they prep their meat. I usually get a grande burrito, half chicken half lengua. Today they kinda messed up my order. They made a lengua burrito, instead of the half and half I asked for. I let that go.. not a big deal. But they did not add any salsa (cilantro/ onion) either. Being currently pregnant, I just could not enjoy my burrito... when i paid over $10 for it. So although the food isn't bad, they get 3 stars for being inconsistent over the 2 years I've ordered from them. read more

One of my favorite spots for asada burritos in Fresno (go for the burrito grande). The breakfast burritos are OK, I'd say average. In terms of service, it really depends on who is working. There are a couple of folks that are very friendly and a pleasure to talk to whereas a couple of others pretty much talk to you as if it's a burden to take your order. All that being say, the food is still worth it :-) read more

Taco Grande - Small spot with big flavor - Mexican Near Me - Fresno, California

My impression is that this is just straightforward Mexican food. I can't claim any great knowledge of what is authentic or not, but this seemed very plain and to the point, which is what I imagine is relatively authentic. Which is why salsa/hot sauce was invented. I think that is what I was missing. As I stood up to leave, I noticed it was in "serve yourself" squeeze bottles in the refrigerated beverage case. Wish I knew that before I had that burrito! (My fault for not asking; service was good!) read more
