Everything was delicious and fresh. The fries were crispy and had a nice kick from the sauce. The beef Kafka was tender and juicy, with a great grill taste. The chicken shawarma and gyro were well-seasoned and flavorful. The humus was creamy and smooth, and the yellow rice was fluffy and aromatic. The pita bread was warm and soft, perfect for dipping and wrapping. The price was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. I paid around $40 for my meal, which was enough for two people. I was very satisfied and happy with my experience at Saba's Mediterranean kitchen. First time at Saba's Medeterarian Kitchen. Sat outside on the patio with friend for lunch. Menu has lots of choices. Had the smokehouse pita and baklava for desert. Pita was large with caramelized onion, cheddar cheese, gyro meat, and a chipotle barbecue sauce. Interesting combination. Wasn't quite sure why they called it smokehouse until I got to the BBQ sauce and then everything clicked together. Service was very good as was the food. Patio was perfect with a light breeze. We just moved to the neighborhood today and heard amazing things about this place! I popped in for a big takeout order and Tim at the register was very friendly. The service was fast for takeout and omg wow the food is AMAZING!! The gyro fries are a MUST and a perfect large portion and the pitas are delicious. Came here with co-workers. Have not experienced a lot of Greek/Mediterranean food aside from the occasional Gyro ("Guy Row" if you're from the part of Illinois I'm from). I was really impressed with everything! My friends insisted that I try something new, and because I wasn't paying for it, I did! Everything was really good. Staff is nice and the services was great. I enjoyed this quaint restaurant and would not mind going back to it in the future. The atmosphere is really nice, and our waitress was just amazing . She was incredibly kind and fun! My only complaints are the fact that the dolma is from a can and because of that, my platter was incredibly overpriced. Of course I don't expect a restaurant to be able to prepare every single thing on the menu in house, however I strongly believe that at least items that are "main items" and cost more than other sections of the menu (like sides) should be made in-house. The food was still tasty, especially the lamb shank and baba gannouj. The hummus was really lacking in flavor. I did enjoy the baklava, I liked the addition of cinnamon although it could use less and could definitely do without the sweet sauce. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would be willing to come back. Edit: Thanks so much for the clarification. My apologies for assuming that all of your dolmas were canned. That makes a lot of sense. When I went, they ran out of meat dolmas so the veggie was my only option. Looking forward to stopping by in the future! I am really craving that baba gannouj now. YUM! I hadn't heard of this place before and I'm so glad I know about it know! Located in a strip mall, that is easy to find and has ample parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. Back in 2022, we gave this place a 5-star review. We'll never go back. The service went from "super chill and friendly" to "rude, bullying, and hostile". The food quality has gone WAY down. The "greek" salad was a GIANT bowl of iceberg lettuce, with a couple of cucumber slices on top. The falafel was like eating dried chalk. Everything was SUPER salty. Didn't love the "Jesus loves hummus" shirts that staff was wearing... we aren't religious and felt like we were getting preached to. First timer ! And won't be our last. Large menu with some unique twists on Greek food. Able to create your own entrees out of some of their top menu items. Portions are quite large and great for sharing. The hummus was knock out as well as the falafel (crisp and flavorful) and the creamy baba ghannoush. Pitas were fresh and doughy. The interior gave a very country/homey vibe. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty packed, but we were able to get seated right away. I ordered the SmokeHouse Pita (gyro) with fries and my friend ordered the Chicago Gyros Pita with Greek fries. SmokeHouse Pita (gyro) with fries: The dish wasn't bad, but the sauce was very overwhelming. Every bite was as if I was eating BBQ sauce alone. However, the meat and pita itself were pretty good! The fries were too--basic cut fries that were crispy! Chicago Gyros Pita with Greek fries: My friend didn't hate or love her dish. She didn't say much about it except that it was alright. Home girl was too busy crying (story below lol). In general, I don't think the dishes were bad, they just weren't typical gyros--very American fusion. If you like American-style Mediterranean food, it's probably a good stop, but for authentic Mediterranean food, I would pass. Also, prior to getting our food, our eyes were stinging a lot because of the onions being cut in the kitchen. With stinging, watery eyes, it didn't give much of a great eating experience. I have been coming to this place for years and have always liked the food. Something feels very different now. The chicken is dry and pitas hard. The grilled veggies are still outstanding however. The people are super nice. While I can appreciate their passion for God, it is thrown into your face. The not-so-subtle brochures at the desk, sweatshirt mentioning Jesus and the Christian music blaring over head so loudly you can't hear what is being said are left with a headache. From a cultural perspective, it may be a turn off for anyone who is another religion. Mixing religion and business may not be the best idea. I think going forward, I may order for pick up. read more

I went to there to scout the place since it had a 4.7 rating on google to possibly do a YouTube video on it. Was really dissapointed on the food's abundance and service. The food was o.k. regarding freshness, but if you order a greek salad on the side you actually want chunks of Feta cheese on it. Not just pile of lettuce and a little portion of scatted Feta on it. The service could of been alot better even thought I talked it out with the server. Could of been more attentive since my main courses took about 30 mins to come out, due to miss communication. For me having to wait that long after I got served my hummus as an apetizer just took off the zing of the experience. Lastly went you travel to a Mediterrenean country, one thing that prevails is the abundance in their servings, with plenty of Virgin Olive oil, cheese, and meat. I am going away from restaurants that are practicing this shrinkage of portions. If those poorer countries can do it, so can we here in the U.S. read more

The lamb shank & beef kofta the best. My girlfriend loved the chicken shawarma & the gyros was good. The ambiance is somewhat upscale for a little place located in a strip mall. The service was fantastic. Ultimately, this place is very highly rated for a reason. I'll definitely be back & I'd definitely recommend it! I really wish I could've enjoyed my food and written an unbiased, fair review. But I can't. Why? Because... ONIONS! My girl friend and I spent the week in Arizona and we were so hyped to try this place because of all the positive reviews. Came in with high expectations and was let down. The moment we were seated, I noticed that my eyes started to sting. "What the hell is this...?" I thought to myself, "Can it be...? No, it can't be, right?" I looked at my friend... she was crying too... Was she thinking about world hunger? All the adorable dogs and cats at the shelter? No, impossible! She's not the emotional type... I looked to my left, then to my right. And there it was - a gaping window cut-out that led straight to the kitchen. The gateway to EVERYTHING - including onions... I'm 1000% sure the chef was cutting onions - and because the kitchen was so exposed to the dining area, our eyes were first to feel it. For what it's worth, I ordered the Chicago Gyros Pita with a side of Greek fries. My friend ordered the Smokehouse Pita. The Pita bread was soft. Everything else was... I don't know.
