The food here was delicious, but the real star of the show was our waiter, Alberto. So smiley and friendly - a professional server and a kind man. He saw a woman struggling through the door with a toddler and a baby carrier, so he immediately ran over and carried the baby all the way over to a table. Alberto, your mother would be proud. read more

Closed early, Front door was locked just let me try and pull the door, no note on the door I won't be coming back any time soon.

They just don't care. Yesterday, my turkey was severely over cooked. I couldnt cover it with salsa because the salsa was old as well as the cottage cheese. So i paid $9 for a cup of fruit. And they only have me a $3 discount when 3/4 of my dinner was bad. On a previous visit my chicken was under cooked and all they offered me was a kids milkshake. Some servers are good, but most are hard to track down. I cant come back here anymore. My kids will be disappointed, but too much bad food. read more

Worst experience ever besides the fact we did not get our food well done and the fries tasted old as if they were just reheated. I must say it was not worth my money we were kind enough to not make a scene or cause any lack customer service complaints but I do not recommend this place for a family with children the restaurant environment is so depressing. read more

Disappointed. We stopped by for dinner and were immediately seated. Unfortunately no one came to our table to welcome us or take our order for over 22 minutes. It seemed like no one knew we were there and plenty of servers were walking around us and serving guest around us. The family that walked in with us were served their food and we didn't even have someone to take our drink order. I finally had to stop the manager to tell her about the situation. She was apologetic and took our order. The food was fine but the experience was bothersome. I was hoping for the manager to stop by again to acknowledge the mistake but she did not. We were disappointed again. read more

I'll start this review off by saying that I have worked at Ruby's for a year and recently left a few months ago for a better opportunity. I decided to come in today for the nostalgia but was thoroughly disappointed. Nobody greeted me, I had to sit myself, all the employees here look like they would rather be anywhere else, and when our server (naqibullah) finally took our order he seemed completely uninterested. When the food came out, the fries were cold and my burger was of lackluster quality... I don't think even a homeless man would want to eat that... I recognized an old busser (Alberto) from the other location I used to work at and he was polite as always. Alberto actually took my drink order since the server failed to even acknowledge or greet our table. Definitely not ok for a server to disregard a table like that. I won't be coming back to this location and I hope the manager required to read the reviews on yelp speaks to their employees about improving and even acquiring the appropriate customer service needed for this job. read more

IMHO, they make a very good, juicy Hamburger. My preference is their Cheeseburger. Always dressed to order & to my liking. The fried green beans are on hit as well. The service at this location is 5 stars. They really love their customers & you will feel it! read more

Such a great feeling to be out and semi normal again! Ruby's did not disappoint with their service, delicious and hot food, and store front. One star is deducted for an unclean bathroom. Thanks for the Friday night family fun, Ruby's! read more

Today I was able to get a quick seat at the birthday all day burger special for lunch. Servers Chantal and Alberto were excellent service , made my visit a nice time. Busy day with all the folks coming in for a 4.49 burger special. Thanks guys, great food.look for the once a yr special .ruby's birthday celebration read more

Great place to take the family. Of the kids get a red gumball out of the machine, they get a free root beer float with the next meal. Love the hickory burger and onion rings. Their ice cream shakes are delish. Oreo, strawberry, and holiday pumpkin are my favorites. read more

It used to be delicious. Now the ranch is watery. The fries are, ugh. The managers are all I'll mannered. Did management change. I wont be back, unfortunately....oh, and watch your receipt. They WILL sneak things in.... beware. read more

Excellent take out experience! Ordered lunch for the family over the phone, and it was ready at curbside pickup in 10 minutes. It's been a while since I've been here, and I forgot how good their food was. Excited to add Ruby's back to our regular rotation! read more

Yeah hi why is everything so expensive??? Shakes are $7 for some reason, and it doesn't say so ANYwhere on the menu??? WHAT?????

good food, consistent quality for years... but I notice there are a few ants by the sugar containers when i sit towards the parking lot, hopefully they can take care of that but otherwise its a pleasure to visit. read more

Me n my kids love the old school hot fudge sundaes here! The employees are always nice as well

Once again I got sick on the clam chowder. I thought they would finally make a fresh batch but boy was I wrong. They keep trying to dr it up but its a gluey, pastey mess and brown in color instead of a white creamy, smooth soup. I was vomiting for 2 days after that. They just dont care anymore there. I feel the health department needs to go in there. The food is not healthy or fresh. read more

I ordered takeout for my family and the food was top quality. The kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and shake. We had their double deluxe burger which was a great deal for $5.99 online. The shakes are delish and enjoyed by all. There was a little bit of wait but there were three staff members working diligently, so I did not mind waiting. read more

Great breakfast but they changed menu and got rid of my potato pancakes! The manager Dean is an awesome people person and makes everyone fill welcome that came in! read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. Bathroom was not properly stocked (luckily the person with me had napkins in her bag) which the host only went in because I told her she needed to. Once seated at the table we were not greeted by our server and the host never said our servers name or that they'd be by in a minute. Nobody came by, not even when my grandmother tried getting the hosts attention. After a total of 10 minutes of nobody providing us service we left. Absolute worse experience I've had at this location. read more

My mom, uncle and I went 2 this Ruby's b4 I went 2 c the Endocrinologist 10min away. When we walked in we right away were seated. I had their Cinnamon Roll French Toast with scrabble eggs. I could really taste the cinnamon. This was so good. I've had it once b4. I also had a lemonade with my food and it's taste was unbelievable. U could really taste the lemon. I highly recommend this place and dish. read more

We have not gone to the Tustin Ruby's for 2 years because of poor food quality & taste. This includes my getting deathly ill after eating a burger there. I returned to let the Manager know - he said I got ill over something else, not Ruby's food! Never even discussed possible problems, just dismissed me out of hand. Today we decided to try it again for breakfast. BIG MISTAKE! My companion had a professional relationship with Ruby Executives in the past and knows that their mission was to serve quality food. He can't understand how Ruby's could have sunk to this level. He had eggs Benedict, which were totally tasteless! I had the breakfast burrito. Essentially it was unseasoned scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla. No salsa, no taste, no good! And the potatoes were limp, lukewarm, grayish things. We will never go back to this Rubys, even to see if it's improved! read more

Ruby's got it right. this is regarding kids drink cups. Ruby's get the extra star for getting the kids cups right. First the service was friendly and courteous as always. The food is consistently good and timely. Back to the kids cups. Short, sealed tops and.... wait for it. ..BENDY straws so it is easy for a toddler. Every restaurant should do this. read more

The lady at the front desk was soooo nice! Always with a positive attitude Ruby's is delicious but a LITTLE pricy, still definitely worth it. The beef from the hamburgers always taste fresh. I prefer Ruby's over Johnny Rockets anytime! read more

I grew up on Ruby's at the Balboa Pier and so I have always had a soft spot where Ruby's is concerned. While I think the overall quality as a whole has dropped over the past couple of years, this was by far the worst Ruby's meal/location I've experienced. I didn't even want to finish my burger & the service was slow and unimpressive. They have a such a great ambience, but the staff does not match. read more

My fiance and I decided to stop in here on 05/05 at around 6pm.... It was a little busy but there wasn't a line out the door or anything. We got seated and it took the waiter 15 minutes to take our drink order and then 15 minutes after that just to take our regular order. After that our food was dropped off and we were asked if we needed anything else, I asked for a side of ranch..... long story short, our waitress never came back with my ranch or to ask how the food was or to get us a refill. So we had to sit there and eat our food with watered down cokes. To make matters worst, there was a hair in my food. Needless to say next time I will drive down to Tustin Market Place and go to Hopdoddy. read more

Ok - so I realize I wasn't going to a five star steakhouse but I did expect to get a decent burger at Ruby's and that definitely did not happen. Ordered a strawberry shake for more than five dollars and it was really bad. The strawberry had a strange metallic flavor that overpowered the entire shake. As for the burgers, greasy is the best way to describe them. My half pound burger was under cooked it was completely raw on the inside and still it was a greasy mess. My son ordered the sliders and they were so greasy by the time they reached the table, the bottom bun was soaked through and completely wet. Took some burgers to the kids at home and had to leave the car windows down to air out the stink of old grease- maybe the fries? I have been to Ruby's in the past and while it was never great, it was always ok and the kids enjoyed it. This time even my son said that the food was gross. $10 burgers should be better than this! Should have gone to In N Out - better food and way cheaper! In a word, YUCK! read more

Always great service and today the potatoes and sides were cooked perfect but the whole grain pancakes just crumbled. Not the usual. Disappointing! read more

I ate hear last week and decided to treat myself to a burger with their bottomless fries and a shake. Normally they don't expect someone to eat more than one helping of the fries, but I explained to my waiter that I had just gotten back from a business trip and the flight's food was so terrible I decided to wait half a day to enjoy two, maybe three servings of their fries. He was such a good sport he brought made sure my fries were full up until I asked for the check and even gave me a carry out bag for the last of it. He earned a bit extra on that tip and this Ruby's earned my regular business. read more

I have to agree with some of the folks here ... The food was decent, the service mediocre ... 3 stars for the ambience mostly ... Disappointing ... read more

It it 445am. I am up with stomach flu. I ate at Rubys at 6pm last night. I had half a blta sandwich and a side of cottage cheese. I have been on the toilet since 2am. I know I did not over-eat. I want my $12.00 back. Bad times, Rubys... Bad times. :( read more

Decided to try this place out on a whim while I waited for an event. I had never had Ruby's before and decided to opt for the bacon burger. It was so delicious! Will definitely be back here again! read more

Since COVID we have ordered from this Ruby's often, usually for delivery. We've rarely had an issue. However, a few weeks ago when we ordered, the delivery driver spilled our milkshakes all over our driveway. They were completely gone. Ruby's contracts out their deliveries to Postmates, but since it was $8 worth of milkshakes, I emailed Ruby's to see if they could do anything for us. The general manager kindly offered to give us two free meals on our next order. I thought this was very generous and he told me next time we ordered just to call and give my name and they would comp me. When I called tonight I spoke with a different manager, but he had the information and took our order. He then told me not to worry, that the entire order would be free. When I went to pick it up, he apologized again and was so kind. I really appreciate this kind of service! Thank you Glen and Jorge for being so kind. read more

My second review. Been coming here for 2 years. 2 reasons. Food is always great and done right. Service always great. Tanya goes her way to treat me right. I love their breakfast it's always hot and fresh. Shakes are top notch. Keep up the good work. read more

My husband and his Business partner had lunch at this Rubys today. The service was unbelievably terrible! His friend asked for no french fries and no croutons with his burger, the salad came loaded with croutons and fries !. He tried to flag her down to let her know about the salad, but ended walking over to the register to speak with the manager. And forget about getting a refill ...you get one soda and apparently that's it at this Rubys. read more

HAIR IN FOOD! Manager did not stop by the table to apologize. He sent the server over with a coupon for a milkshake. Server said, my manager said to give this to you. Well, thank you for the thought but, I'm allergic to dairy and I don't live in California to use it. On top of that the server forgot to ring in my cousins food. So not only did I have to wait for a new meal, but so did my cousin!!! When I brought the bill to the manager he casually says so I hear you're not from California so you can't use my milkshake coupon..... (Still no apology for how gross hair in anyone's food is) I let him know that the server also forgot to ring in my cousins food. So he said hey, how about I take 8 bucks off your meal...leaving me at $30. I'm sorry, most restaurants that I choose to dine with would have comped the whole meal and had been so apologetic about the experience. No one really seemed to care. Even though I'm dining from out of town. You will be losing my families business that lives here in Tustin and comes on a weekly basis. This was very poor customer service. read more

Food was good to until it was ruined by a roach crawling on the table! Unfortunately we saw it after finishing our meal after moving an orange slice we left in the table...then there was a bug flying over our table the whole meal. Spent dinner trying to swat it away. read more

I hate to give bad reviews, but the last 3 times I've been here I've had the same experience. The service is just not good. The food is ok, but really not worth the bad service. This last time was the worst. There seemed to be a bunch of younger waitresses behind the counter chatting. None of them were helping the patrons in the restaurant. We waited almost 10 minutes before someone even came over to our table. The gal that served us wasn't even one of the many girls behind the counter. Our service was terribly slow but I don't know if it's because it seemed our waitress was the only one that was actually waitress-ing or what. It sure seemed that way. My grandma said her chili was terrible and my mom and my meals were just ok. With the truly horrible encounter I had over at Ruby's Streamliner Lounge in Orange and now the last 3 times this Tustin restaurant has been poor, Ruby's is no longer going to be getting my business. read more
