Made reservations on OpenTable, even though we really didn't need to. Our server was Stephany, she was just OK. I told her to make sure that she checked us in on OpenTable because I didn't want to get any emails from them that I didn't show up. She finally did. She sat us but then didn't come around for a little bit. I had coffee which was quite good and I was treating our friends so one of them had cafe at lait. One of the guys had the bacon, avocado omelette, and the other one had farmhouse tacos. My girlfriend and I shared farmhouse tacos, along with avocado. They were made with bacon and I wish they would've had Carnitas. My girlfriend also got one of her favorite muffins and I think she ate the whole thing. We go to Mimi's frequently. We have seen the on going decline in food and service. We went in mid morning on Sunday. Not too busy, yet we waited at the front podium for a few minutes before anyone even acknowledged us to be seated. We ordered eggs Benedict, omelette and a burger. Burger patty was burnt to a crisp. The waiter was courteous and had a good attitude but the service was extremely slow and inattentive. He would disappear and took forever to request anything. The place need's renovations Perhaps it time to look for alternative place. read more

Do you like really good food served in August in The Mississippi Delta? Do you like to bring coworkers and clients to lunch and have your finely pressed dress shirts stick to you like you just fell in a swimming pool? If the answer is yes,come to this restaurant. The management for some reason thinks that customers enjoy eating in a 90* humid environment. the air has been broken for over a month and I have reached out to the company and nothing is being repaired. I think the labor code in California has a provision about excessive heat,so management should wake up and smell the corn chowder. Anyway there is an excellent blast furnace down the street if you want to go somewhere cooler. What I'm saying is call before you waste your time. You were warned. read more

Stopped by Mimi's Café in Tustin for the first time in over a decade--it definitely felt like a blast from the past. The bread basket is now just sourdough, which is still decent and better than many places, but I really missed the old carrot raisin loaf they used to offer for free. Now you have to order these medallions instead, and unfortunately, they just don't compare. We brought the kids along, and while the menu has variety, most of the food had that mass-produced, frozen feel to it. The restaurant was pretty quiet, and it's easy to see why--there's a nostalgic charm, but it seems like it's struggling to keep up. That said, the staff were kind and doing their best. Our server was clearly overworked and looked exhausted, but still managed to be friendly. We left a good tip and wished him well--it's hard not to feel for the people still holding these places together. All in all, a bit of a bittersweet visit. Not terrible, but not what it once was. Came in on August 12th around 8:10 PM and ordered the croissant beignets through Uber Eats for pickup so I wouldn't have to wait. When I arrived to pick up my order, an employee told me they were out of the item and that I would need to speak with the manager since I had ordered through Uber Eats. I spoke with the manager, who had bleached blond/pinkish hair, and unfortunately, she had a major attitude. I explained to her twice that Uber Eats had told me the restaurant needed to cancel the order since the item was out of stock. She kept insisting that there was nothing she could do and that I needed to contact Uber instead. I had already spoken with Uber twice, and they specifically told me the restaurant needed to cancel the order or mark the item as out of stock. I also called the store three separate times afterward, and each time she answered, she acted like she couldn't hear me and wouldn't stay on the phone for more than a minute. Because the order was never canceled or marked as out of stock, I ended up being charged for an item I never received. The whole situation could have easily been resolved by simply canceling the item or marking it as out of stock, but instead I was left paying for something I never received. Definitely the worst service I've experienced at this location, and honestly, I won't be returning. read more

I went there last month with my two sisters for a birthday sunday brunch, when we walked in was ghost town. We were served cold food, I told the waitress I didn't like my omelet and if I could pick something else, she asked what I didn't like about it, then walked away. She never returned to take my order to choose something else, so I let it go. I thought she would take it off the bill, but no chance. It cost $100 for 3 omelets & coffee. Unimpressed. Came here for brunch and 2 of the 3 of us did not like it. I had the chicken and waffles and they literally looked like frozen waffles with 2 overcooked and thin chicken patties. Won't be coming back to Mimi's. Mimi's used to be a go to restaurant for a reliable tasty meal. No longer. Went for breakfast with a few friends and even though the place had been open for an hour and very few customers the bathroom hadn't been cleaned from day before. It was a mess. Service was so slow. But worst of all was the food. Waffle was not cooked completely. Bacon was literally raw and limp. I believe server should have noticed that and never even brought that to our table. Potato's seemed like leftover from previous day were awful. Eggs were low quality and no flavor. Even the carrot muffin was not fresh and had a gummy texture. This is the place I have gone to with my elders for the past 30 years. Vaguely French with a huge menu, plenty of seating, and attentive service, it's a comfortable casual dining spot for multiple generations to gather. I prefer their breakfast fare, which is served all day. Whether you want an omelet, french toast, quiche, or a giant muffin, these are all fine selections. I have also enjoyed their soups. While you are waiting for your food, you will get a basket of toasted baguette slices and butter. They could probably stand to narrow down their menu and play French music to improve upon the ambiance, but honestly what they do works well enough. It's a great alternative to any big diner chain. We ordered the 3 course "valentine special"offered by Mimis this weekend to eat at home for lunch on Saturday and were very pleased. The chicken cordon bleu was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes and gravy. The broccoli was cooked to perfection rather than what we typically receive at most places, barely cooked and almost raw. Our salads were good and so were our desserts. The odering online was easy and pickup was uncomplicated. We were thankful for their courtesy to expand their "valentine special" to include all day Friday, saturday, and Sunday which is way more than the typical valentine evening dinner only choice which often doesn't work for everybody. Absolutely horrible organization. My family came here on a sunday with an already-booked reservation. They proceeded to say we had to wait an hour even though we had this reservation.
