This is single handedly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I don't know why we even went there. I think someone in our group actually felt pity for how poorly the reviews on yelp were and/or didn't think it could be that bad. Oh, honey, trust. IT WAS. First thing, we walked in and the guy at the front asked us if we were a group of five. We confirmed. He walks to the back kitchen, (it's a somewhat open kitchen so you have a view of what's going on), and yells out who would like to take our table. There's a small debate going on while we're watching who wants to bother taking us but regardless of outcome, he escorts us out to a table and seats us. Our waitresses is adorable but we can immediately tell that she is new. She asks us for our drink orders and takes off. She returns with some of the drinks at a Time and I am the last one to receive my coffee. My coffee cup is stained. Please see the photo. She then goes off for a bit, and then returns to take our order. She takes her order and then vanishes. A bit of time goes by, and by a bit of time I mean 20 minutes, and she shows up to ask if everything's okay. We ask for refills and for some Waters that we never received, and then she hesitates and then asks if we would be interested in bread. Complimentary bread, that was offered halfway through our wait. Not at the beginning, but 20 minutes later when we should have received our food. Cold bread, mind you. With how long that took, we could have had fresh bread. At this point I look around and I noticed that people who have been sitting there with no menus and obviously waiting for their food are still sitting there. I instantly regret coming there at this point. I knew it was going to be a while more for our food if we were just getting our bread. After this, we do not see her for another 25 minutes. Yes, you read that right, if you are doing the math we waited 45 minutes to get our food. We are talking Burgers, a soup which was already pre-made, and salad. The fries that came along with the burgers were cold. You can tell that the fries had finished a while ago but they were waiting on the burger to deliver. Once we managed to flag down our waitress, we told her that the fries were cold. SHE THEN TAKES AWAY THE WHOLE PLATE including a burger so two people were sitting there with no food despite the fact that we finally received our food and were quite hungry. Rather than apologize and bring us fresh fries, because obviously we're not eating the other ones, she decided to take the entire plate. Even when we asked her not to. The french fries finally come hot along with the burger, delivered by a kitchen guy with a filthy apron. Our waitress has not checked on us at all as we finish our meal. At this point we know that other tables, some of which who have been sitting there waiting longer than we have, are starting to receive their food. Finally. We flagged on our waitress again to get our check, and finally leave. An hour and a half it took for all of this nonsense. It is screamingly obvious that there is zero proper experienced food Management in either front of house or back of house. Zero service, lackadaisical quality of food, lack of management, lack of professionalism, an absolutely miserable experience that I would not wish on anyone. Arrived here with a party of 7, and a party of 15 was behind us. From the beginning, the older woman working the counter made it a point that the party of 15 was priority. From trying to have us sit in a booth, which I voiced wasn't gonna fit us, she told us they have a party of 15 next and they're trying to make room. Just to sit these 15 people on the opposite side of the cafe. We sat there for 40 minutes, nothing and nobody said anything. The people before us & after us were all getting food, and we just sat there waiting. I made my way to the counter to let her know that I will pay for our drinks and leave, she made it another point to mention that they have a party of 15 & only 2 waitresses. Ok that's fine, but at least communicate that with us. Instead of us sitting there for 40 mins with no word. Party of 15 was priority and more important, and to be honest, we even told her we were gonna order a lot of food. So you would think for the inconvenience, she would let us just leave. But no, she asked if I would like to pay for our drinks with a card. The waitress told her they would comp us, don't worry about it but she actually wanted us to still pay. All our soda cups were still full, nobody wanted to sit there and drink it all - we were waiting to wash down the food! Even while voicing our disappointment, the older lady still proceeded to try and lower our voices because she didn't want to disrupt everyone else's meal. Like be for real?! You know what the honest truth of what we felt, we felt like we were shunned against cause we were brown. Because what other reason would there be? Hands down the best place to get breakfast in probably all of Utah. No joke this place out beats ANY AND ALL restaurants I have ever been to. Every single item on the menu was amazing. I stayed in Hurricane for three days and ate at Rooster Run Cafe for almost every meal; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can promise you that more than 80% of the review that are negative are fake. I mean just read them! It is common sense and very obvious that some people (cough cough the mormons) are trying to drive this place into the ground. This restaurant has the most friendliest service I have ever met. The owner, Spiro, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is a great guy, and is a perfect embodiment of what a owner, business man, employee, and friend should be. Even though he is the owner of the business, he worked tirelessly alongside his employees taking orders, delivering food, and checking on customers (asking if we need water, napkins, etc.). The food here is great. I was only able to take pictures of three of our meals because all the other plates were consumed instantly. I also love the environment of this place and felt very welcome. I tend to wear a style of clothing that the towns people looked strangely at me for. I came into the restaurant with my boyfriend, both of us wearing Led Zeppelin attire, and felt so welcomed. Spiro even came up to us and told us we look really cool and we bonded over rock music. Also a side note: it is NOT required by law to wear a face mask in Utah. Any comments crying about employees not wearing face masks or wearing face mask should keep it to themselves and leave the entire state of Utah. Because almost any restaurant you go to in Utah won't require employees to wear them. I saw some employees wearing them and others not, but there is no point in crying about it when it is NOT a requirement. Anyways, this place is GREAT. Great food, great staff, great ownership, great everything. If they were based in california I would go there everyday for a meal. I highly recommend this place. Don't listen to the reviews that are negative get out of your societal based shell, live a little, and try something new. Go out and try it for yourself! Went to hurricane UT for my bday weekend. Had breakfast here. Huge portions, friendly service and fresh coffee. It was super easy to be seated, not overly packed and it was super tasty. This diner spot is way better than its 3.5 star Yelp rating. Very solid food at very reasonable prices - our cheese curds were amazing when they came out hot (they stopped being so after it cooled off). My chopped steak was super tasty and a steal for $13, considering the portions. Service was solid, but disorganized. We grabbed a later meal here around 9 pm, after driving in from Vegas and finding that much of everything else was closed or closing. This place is expensive for what it is. I had a chicken melt sandwich with onion rings and a side salad. The chicken melt did not have a lot of flavor. Also they charge extra for onion rings (which I knew- that was fine) , but extra $ for fry sauce , and then they also charged me the house salad price instead of a side salad. The omelette comes with some side items, but they all are extra charges. The waitress did not tell us about anything that would cost more. Not a lot of communication. We got: fried pickles, chicken fried steak breakfast, steak sandwich, and kids macaroni and cheese. Everything was really good and we're looking forward to going back! First the young hostess turned tourist away because they wanted coffee, told them to go across the street to Scooters. It's noon and they had multiple seating available. Then she handled people's payments and then took food out to tables while she wiped her hair out of her face. Last but not least, I ordered chicken strips and got chicken nuggets, on a bed of rotten lettuce all for $12.00 (I think they thought I was child and gave me kid size) the hostess told me the cook said this was the chicken fillets and didn't know what else to tell me. My wife and I have been here several times, both for breakfast and dinner. The breakfasts of Ham and eggs is awesome!... Sausage and eggs also very good! Generous portions, good hash browns and crispy English muffin. Wife also had the ham and it's now her favorite. We also did a stop for dinner with friends from California. We waited about 30 mins for our fried chicken to be done and while it looked good, our chicken cooked on the outside but still cold in the inside. Told the waiter that it was not cooked and that the meat was still cold...he took our chicken back to the cook only for them to REHEAT the chicken. Wow! Completely bad! We were greeted immediately and seated promptly - no wait! Our server took our orders of a Denver omelet, veggie omelet, a kid's pancakes and sausage. Our food came out hot and quick! Portions were very generous and coffee refills were frequent. I would definitely come back here for breakfast (or lunch and dinner, too!). Went in to Roosters for lunch today with my GF.We eat here at twice a week. Well today I ordered the bowl of chili which I always enjoy once in-awhile. But was very disappointed in portion size. It usually comes in a large bowl but today a was served a small bowl at the price that I normally am charged for the large bowl. When I inquired as to why the size difference I was informed that the owner noticed that with some of the meals food was being left on the plate. So the owner decided to cut back on the portions of some of the meals. Unfortunately they kept the prices the same. Now why would you change the portion size but not the price? If you offer a nice good size portion of food even though some people can't finish it while others can finish it why penalize the patrons that enjoy and finish the portion that was once presented to the customers.
