Saw a couple of reviews saying this was a good spot, and they weren't wrong! The Sunday brunch wait was way longer than I would have expected, took us about 45 minutes to an hour to finally get a seat (we were initially told it would be about 20-30). There were quite a few tables that were empty, but it looked like they were short on some staff. No worries for us though, not in a hurry. Our server was super kind, our table was clean, and the atmosphere was really nice. We got some fried pickles, and then the new French toast stacker special. A little silly and not the most practical meal, but it was actually really good. It had every single meat, 2 kinds of cheese, hash browns, and a fried egg sandwiched between two slices of French toast. If it's still available in the future, I would recommend others try it. Restaurant is pretty big from inside, from outside you feel it is a coffee shop. I guess they should put signs both ends of the restaurant. Food was good. Stopped in this cafe as the halfway point in my road trip. We were looking for a diner with a big menu to appease everyone in the group and this place did not disappoint. We were seated at a booth right away. Our waitress was courteous. I was happy to find a vegetarian sandwich on the menu, and it was delicious. We did get pie for dessert and unfortunately this was a miss for me. It didn't taste fresh. Not even a few days old, but frozen and never fully reheated. We were driving through Hurricane on our way to Zion and had picked out a spot to eat lunch at in Springdale (not super excited to be paying $30 for a burger but whatever). Out of the blue, our 8 year old hit us with a "I have to go pee right now," causing us to divert and change our well-deliberated lunch plans on the fly. We happened to be driving by and quickly turned into the Rooster Run Cafe to avoid a bathroom catastrophe. Rooster Run exceeded our expectations! The menu had great variety and was reasonably priced, especially when you compare to most Springdale lunch sport. We got the tuna melt ( delicious with grilled rye bread and what tasted like chopped up sweet pickles in the tuna) and the BLT. They had a nice kids menu too. We sub'd fries for side salads for $2 and got 2 pretty big salads. All in all, I would recommend and would return when coming through Hurricane. read more

I normally don't complain but we were disappointed. Due to our hotel being crowded, we wanted to go somewhere close for a hearty breakfast since we had a long day ahead. When we arrived, there weren't too many tables filled. We were seated quickly, and our waitress did a fairly good job taking our orders and delivering our food, but it went downhill from there. My breakfast was good - crispy bacon, rye toast and over easy eggs. The fresh fruit was basically cantaloupe, honeydew, & 1 grape. My friend ended up going somewhere else and also had strawberries and watermelon so we know the fruit is readily available. Hubby was disappointed. Home fried potatoes were cold and soft and no seasoning. The "house made" corned beef hash was from a can and also no flavor. The coffee was burnt. When I got the check, it was the wrong one. Not even close to what we ordered. The waitress corrected it, but never apologized. By the time we left, the place was packed. Came here on a Sunday morning after a night of camping at Zion. Read the reviews and many people had some negative things to say about the place. My expectations weren't so high. So I paid close attention to our visit! We were a party of 12. It was a pretty busy morning and they said it'd be about a 30-45 minute wait. There was one large table with a big party, so we had to wait for them to leave and the table to be cleaned. I was a server before so I understand that big parties can sometimes be a pain in the booty. 9:45am - we arrived 10:20am - we were seated 10:30am - we ordered drinks & food 10:50am - a bowl of chili came out (yes, chili in the morning) 10:55am - everything else started coming out So in all honesty, the past reviews of time being an issue was obviously way different for our party. Our server, Amy, was quick and to the point. She also had other employees helping her with drinks and bringing condiments. Teamwork is what I like to see! Large shout out to SPIRO who was awesome, friendly, always checked up on our waters and coffees... seriously he was a delight! The decor was cute and subtle. The whole menu is available all day. (Game changer) And it's affordable due to the very LARGE portions. You get lots of toast (2 pieces cut in half) so I'd say if you don't like toast opt out so you don't waste it!! We left at 11:30am. I've been here a total of 3 times. One because i stumbled upon it and 2 because i deliberately drove all the way out to eat here. The exterior looks rather generic but please don't let that fool you! Once you get in you'll realize just the opposite. The decor from the chicken coop fencing to the windmill ceiling fans and wood tell you that you are in for some good country cooking. The place smells new and clean. Lets get to the food, oh the food!! I cannot express in words how of quality the food is. It's just plain good. You can tell it's prepared with care & concern for each plate rather than how many can they haphazardly pump out at once. I haven't had many meals at restaurants lately that were this tasty and fulfilling. For example- I had the Tri tip sandwich and the meat was very tender and flavorful, the grilled onions were tasty because they tasted like they were sauteed in butter just little details, made the meal. Came here because I saw previous Yelp reviews about their fried chicken but now they don't have it anymore. So we ordered steak instead at a chicken restaurant. Service was excellent. The poor waitress was on her own with a busy night but attended to our every need. When you order salad you get a big portion of dressing on the side which is awesome because most restaurants give you a tiny side. The steak was nicely cooked to our order and came with a big baked potato and steamed veggies. Ambiance reminds me of a Cracker Barrel or Polly's pies. Four orders of chicken steak that didn't disappoint. The California Benedict was okay. Loaded with potatoes and the sauce was a bit overwhelming. Staying in town at a hotel with free breakfast but decided to try something local. Service was fast and friendly. The small stack of fruit flapjacks is enormous, and very tasty. With the blueberries it didn't even need syrup. My 16 y/o could only eat about 60%. The chicken fried steak and eggs was also overflowing.
