We made a reservation ahead of time (recommended by a friend since this place fills up quickly), and I'm really glad we did. We actually arrived about an hour early and were lucky enough to snag a patio table, definitely worth it. The mountain views at sunset were beautiful, and by the time our food arrived, the patio was completely packed. A big bonus: the patio is dog-friendly, which is awesome and makes it an even better spot to relax and enjoy the evening. We started with the combo appetizer and bread with dips, and everything there was excellent. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and it set a great tone for the meal. We also ordered the pig wings appetizer, which was a standout, juicy, tender, fall-off-the-bone meat with a perfectly balanced sauce. Easily one of the highlights. For mains, the salmon didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. It wasn't bad, just not as memorable, and we would've liked to see a bit more vegetables on the plate. By that point, though, we were already pretty full from the appetizers. We shared the lobster ravioli (which they kindly split for us), but it leaned a bit too salty for my taste. The steak prices ranges from $55-$70 (MP) when we ask for Sept in 2025. I ordered a grilled salmon and pork chop. Both were excellent and not dry. Salmon were scrumptious and love the sides of veggies (asparagus and cauliflower purée) but the salmon portion was so small for the price ($36) that I'm left still hungry. I love coming here, I came during a not so busy season and I love that because that means Service is also even better. Love to visit Balcony One when visiting southern Utah. The food is amazing and can't beat the beautiful patio surrounded by the beautiful plateaus and red rock of Virgin. I always order the Fettuccine Alfredo - it is tasty and not too heavy. The Oven Roasted Chicken is cooked and seasoned well. The drinks are excellent. Honestly, this place is perfection. The parking area is large. The outside is a bit deceptive because inside is much nicer than I expected. The hostess was excellent and gave us an option between the bar and dining room. She was very friendly. We chose the bar and our server was spectacular. Absolutely a must. We where referred by the Zion River RV Resort and the lady said that Balcony One has the best food around. That was a understatement. You will be hard pressed to find a better place to eat in the state of Utah. The food was cooked to perfection. When our waiter Brayden told us the head chef has personal ties to Wolfgang Puck we knew we where in for a treat. The unique food pairings was a real treat. My Ribeye steak had excellent flavor and cooked to perfection and my wife had the Salmon Fettuccine which too had a great flavor and taste and prepared perfectly. Almost forgot, make sure to save room for their desserts. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to try the Pork Chops on our next visit. With excellent food and exceptional service Balcony One is an absolute must whenever in the Zion Utah area. I made it for Thanksgiving week and I'm so glad I did. Luckily there was space for a large party of 8 and they accommodated perfectly for us. - Dark, dirt parking lot. Drive slow and carefully. There's some light but also lots of families who admire the fountain in the parking lot. - Kids menu is perfectly basic for picky eaters. - The food was piping hot and delicious! Our table tried a bunch of stuff and nearly everything was exactly what we expected. I tried the chocolate cake and it was just ok, but it could be we were all just stuffed from the plentiful portion sizes. Clean bathrooms, family friendly, delicious food. I am not sure what the rave reviews are for? I think I would even give this place a 1 star, but feel badly doing that since the owner was sweet and came by to welcome us. That was a nice touch. This was the worst meal we had during our 5 day trip to Zion. I think it would be fun to come and have a drink and listen to live music on the patio out back...that's about it. The food was terrible. Our party of 4 all agreed. One got the rib-eye, I got the chicken, another got the French onion soup and a salad, and the other the baked potato and chicken. The chicken had a strange taste and the lemon sauce on top lacked depth and was not enjoyable to eat. The rib-eye, that was supposed to be prime - was just ok. For $65 it should at least be "good". Why 3 stars after seeing all of the 5 stars. That was my question as well. We are traveling from Bakersfield to Bryce Canyon for a spring time vacation. We split the travels in half and stayed near Zion. As I always do I go to Yelp for recommendation on places to eat. When took advantage of the reservation system they have on Yelp which worked perfectly. The young lady at the door greeted us and informed us that the wait time could be up to 30-45 minutes. I let her know that we had the reservation and she said give her a few minutes to get our table ready which she did. Super nice and very friendly. A few minutes later a young man came by and asked if we had been here before which we haven't and he welcomed us and gave us his recommendations and brought us some water. Sorry for not remembering the names. This young man should be a server as well. He was absolutely awesome. Then this is where things went South. We waited for over 20 minutes without seeing anyone other than the young lady seating other customers in a different section from us. Which they were waited on by their server fairly quick. Finally the young lady came by with even more customers and looked over at us and noticed we still had our menus and I asked if anyone was going to help us. She quickly responded ask said Lauren hasn't been here yet? She immediately went and got her. Not sure it this was just an off night for Lauren but she was about the spacey and seemed to either be real new at her job or this was just the way she was. She asked for a drink order any starters and if we wanted to go ahead and place our dinner order which we did. The table directly behind us seemed to have had people that she new which unfortunately for us the ended up getting their drinks, starter and salads before us. As for the food, the empanadas were absolutely awesome. I really like the way they used puff pastry instead of the typical dough pocket It had great flavors and I will try to make this at home. The salads were really good. They have some house made dressing that were out of this world. I ordered the Ribeye which was one of the suggestions and added a baked potato and it came with roasted brussel sprouts. The steak was good cooked perfectly but to me was under seasoned especially for a place that is known for steaks. The baked potato was under cooked and Lauren forgot to put the butter and sour cream. The brussel sprouts were really good. My wife ordered the New York Strip that came with potatoes au gratin and asparagus. The steak was cooked a perfect medium which is how she ordered it. The au gratin was absolutely delicious as was the asparagus. The steak on the other hand was a little tough more so than she was use to. All in all is was just an ok experience especially when you drop close to $200 for 2 people. I am hopeful that this was just an off night for Lauren and that she will hopefully get this corrected. read more

I made reservations for this restaurant on Saturday evening. It was for a birthday celebration and this restaurant did not disappoint. I have been wanting to check out this restaurant for quite a while and was glad I finally had the chance to go. The restaurant is really nice inside with all of the wood and has a beautiful bar area in the back. You can sit outside as there are plenty of tables and they sometimes offer music on the weekends. I ordered the pork chop with brussels sprouts and baked potato. I really liked the brussels sprouts and I thought the pork chop was cooked nicely. Prices have significantly increased. I was looking at previous reviews and as of August 2024 the pork chop was $33 where just a few months ago, it was $24. I do think the price is a bit steep but the food, but it is such a fun unique place to eat at. I do see myself coming back here to eat again. With a rating of 4.7 stars, I was expecting a very nice dining experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The name Balcony One, and its location in a spectacularly beautiful area not far from Zion National Park suggests we would have pretty nice views, but wrong again. We were seated at a half moon shaped table in front of a window covered with stained, orange translucent curtains. That was not very pleasant, and due to the chairs being positioned along the arc of the half moon - we had no choice. Opening the curtains gave us a view of the parking lot, which while not great, was better than staring at stained curtains. The food was okay. I ordered ribs and they were pretty good, but nowhere near awesome. Typically ribs are served with baked beans and coleslaw, however none were options. I skipped the vegetable and chose the flash fried potato. Good choice; it was delicious! My wife had the Seared Ahi Tuna. It was very good, but portion size was surprisingly small. She almost never finishes her meal at restaurants and we almost always ask for a to-go box. She ate everything... because there just wasn't that much of it. The service was solidly okay. I do resent paying a fee to use a credit card, and that's Balcony One's practice. So, would we go back? Maybe in a pinch, but we're certainly not in a hurry to. Would I recommend Balcony One to others? No. I take my recommendations seriously, and recommending something is putting my stamp of approval on it. I can't do it. read more
