Cowboys & Angels in Springdale was such a great surprise -- we honestly didn't expect to find a cocktail spot this good. The drinks were consistently excellent both days we visited, which says a lot. The ambiance is clean, stylish, and well done, but we especially loved sitting outside on the patio. It made for a really relaxed and enjoyable experience. The little touches stood out too -- the complimentary pretzels and trail mix were a nice addition and were constantly being refilled throughout the night. Service was excellent as well. Jenn (Hopefully I'm spelling her name correctly) the AM was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we were enjoying everything. They genuinely cared about the experience and were more than happy to remake or swap drinks if something wasn't your style. Definitely recommend trying the Espresso Martini and the Pornstar Martini -- both were standout cocktails for us. The hubs found this place while searching for things to try while we were in Zion. He said I'd love it because of their cocktails -- and I gotta say, I was impressed. We ended up going twice during our vacation. The first time was Sunday night around 8 PM. It was busy, but Tristin helped us pretty quickly. They also had a Sunday special on Old Fashioneds for $9. My husband said they were delicious and the price was a bonus . I ordered one of their signature cocktails -- the Cactus Fruit Margarita -- and it was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. We went back again on Wednesday night after our Narrows hike as a little treat before heading home Thursday. It was even busier that night, but the power team of Gabriel, Ethan, and Tristin was on deck. Gabriel and Ethan's hustling orders left and right. Tristin was cleaning, preparing and helping the guys out as much as possible when needed. This trip made everyone feel welcomed while serving drinks to perfection. This night I had -The Lasso and Pornstar Martini. These were my favorite ! Husband had the same -House Old Fashioned. We had a great time both visits and definitely recommend this place as a perfect nightcap spot. One thing I'll say -- if you go and see it's busy, be patient with these guys. The only reason this place gets one star is for the location and decor -- both were great. Everything else was frustrating from start to finish. The service was incredibly disorganized. No one explained where to go, how ordering worked, or even where the menus were. We were left trying to figure everything out on our own. When we finally ordered drinks, we didn't even receive what we asked for. The bartender apologized and said they were supposedly out of the drink we ordered and that "someone should have told us," yet moments later another woman ordered the exact same drink and was served without any issue. Instead, I was handed an Old Fashioned I never wanted, and it wasn't even properly made -- no cherry included. What made it worse was that they didn't ask if a substitute was okay. If you're out of a drink, don't just bring back a simplified version of something completely different and expect customers to accept it. They also claimed they gave us a discount for the mistake, but the charge was exactly the same. Overall, aggravating experience with poor communication, inconsistent service, and disappointing drinks. The atmosphere can't make up for how badly everything else was handled. read more

When I visited Utah a lot of years ago, adult beverages were hard to come by, especially in Southern Utah. I was delighted to see this Speakeasy on our journey through. To get to the Speakeasy, go into the Coffee Shop and on your left, enter through a door with angel wings on it. Inside the speakeasy, it is cozy indeed. GORGEOUS decor, Western but upscale and a bit glam while still being kinda Cowboy. I love the vibe. When we arrived, it was BUSY. Being on vacation I dont mind a wait at all. What a hidden gem in this mountain town! I was so pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this sophisticated speakeasy bar in Springdale. The décor is both tasteful and playful, perfectly capturing the "Cowboys and Angels" theme with a creative blend of Renaissance (e.g., oil painting, statues) and Western styles (e.g., horseshoe, animal fur). The ambiance was lovely: soft lighting, gentle music, and spacious indoor and outdoor seating options. Both of our drinks (the Conway and the Jolene) were excellent, with very reasonably priced for the quality ($17). Honestly, the cocktails would hold up at any good bar in a major city. Due to Utah's alcohol laws, we were required to order a snack, but they offered an affordable $3 snack plate, which turned out to be a fun addition to our drinks. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and impressively fast, especially considering there were only two of them handling both the bar and table service. Another table was kind enough to lend us their menu so we could at least look at the drinks, but after another 15 minutes of not being able to get any staff's attention, we decided to leave. The quality of the drinks here rivals what you'd find in major cities like Detroit or Chicago. The bartenders are true mixologists, crafting elevated cocktails that really awaken your senses. The Smoked Old Fashioned is my go to it has High West Campfire Rye Whiskey, Benedictine, orange and aromatic bitters, and is smoked right in front of you with applewood chips. It's as much an experience as it is a drink. One of my favorite things about this place is how the mixologists will recommend something new based on what liquor you like. After a long day of work or hiking, it's so nice to just relax without having to make more decisions. They make it easy to unwind. Another big plus: this is one of the only places in town where you can enjoy a drink without having to order food, a rarity in Utah due to strict alcohol laws. They have a special license that allows for this, which makes the experience even more relaxed and enjoyable. Ty our charming bartender is one badass guy and puts out some incredibly smooth cocktails. Beware because as you sip on some of these you don't feel like you're even drinking alcohol. It's not until after a few sips you realize how relaxed you feel and your soar muscles from hiking all day are no longer soar. Then you try to standup and realize you might not be walking the same way you did when you first came in. The espresso martini had the perfect balance of sweet & bitter with strong coffee notes. Just what I needed! The pornstar martini offered a very bright tropical flavor from the passion fruit, pineapple, and lime, and included a champagne sidecar. Wow.. This was not as good as people make it out to be. First, the location is not a secret as there are tables outside. The secret door was left wide open the entire night I was there. No one came to take my order and to top it off, I even had to pick up my own drinks at the bar. The service here is not good. My receipt also didn't add up. I only got two drinks which I have pictures of the menu too. They don't itemize the receipt, rather just providing a total. I didn't complain but rather I just didn't leave a big tip. Be careful drinking here and check your receipts. The concept is cool, but it's slacking a lot. read more

I recently visited Cowboys and Angels Speakeasy while in Zion. It's definitely a unique spot, part bike shop, part ice cream shop, and part bar/speakeasy flowing out onto a small patio that faces the main road through Springdale toward Zion. The concept is neat, and the space itself is small with a nice ambience. I also appreciated the historical touches and information displayed on the walls. The bartender was young and seemed like a nice kid, but it was a bit difficult to interact with him. He wasn't very chatty, which made the experience feel a little flat compared to what you might expect from a true speakeasy-style bar. Keep in mind you're in Utah, so cocktails are carefully measured and regulated. Because it's branded as a speakeasy, prices feel a bit higher and with the alcohol strictly portioned, you may feel like you're paying a premium. Overall, it's a cool and interesting place to check out while in Zion, but for us it was just OK, compared to a true speakeasy. The atmosphere is probably the highlight.
