Came across this place & decided to celebrate our wedding here after everything was done! Made a reservation online assuming it could be busy for cinco de mayo. We were able to be seated without an issue, they just opened around the time we came in. The ambiance was cool & different & the secret door was a cool touch. Drinks were great. Loved the variety they offered. I took a star off because the guy who checked our IDs in the front didn't tell us it was open seating, so we just stood there waiting to be helped not knowing what to do if we can sit anywhere , or needed to wait. The bartender didn't stop to welcome us , or let us know it was open seating. We aren't locals, nor have we been before, so standing there without any direction was kind of not welcoming. I was looking for a unique cocktail experience to while away the hours while on a recent trip to St. George and was pleasantly surprised to happen upon the Spiritual Speakeasy. It's tucked away in a tiny courtyard in the middle of town and you just have to pull the knob to ring the bell - and voilah! You enter a small, but beautifully mysterious room for a quick ID check and then a secret door opens and leads you into the bar itself. Greated by the host, they'll find you a spot to tuck in. Bartenders were welcoming and had recommendations if needed. I ordered a King Louis. Delicious, akin to a whiskey sour with a salted caramel foam atop. Met a friend of the staff who was in mourning, and shared a shot of Fernet and closed out with one more King Louis. All in all. A lovely night. The ambiance is dark, but cozy. This is our second time here, and both times have been absolutely fantastic. Starting with the bar vibe, it's beautiful and looks a gothic Catholic Church with plush seating, curtain, crosses, and just general dark beauty. Both times we sat at the bar, and both times we had some incredible bartenders. The cocktails are well thought out and crafted, and they have a fantastic liquor selection. They also serve upscale popcorn, with our particular serve being a dill and caramel blend that blew our mind. Pricing is very reasonable, and if you ask the bartenders for opinions or recommendations they are very capable and willing. You may also meet a fun clientele, as this particular evening we had a fellow guest show up some close up magic tricks, and it was incredible. They have drink roulette where there are 38 possible drink options and the best is the dice choice. You roll it four times and the menu selects what drink you're getting based on how you roll. Mine was a combination of lime and pineapple, grapefruit, scotch, and benedictine, which is made with 27 different flowers, berries, herbs, roots, and spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. This was such a pleasant surprise to stumble across while in town. You feel like you walk into a portal out of Utah and into the coolest vibe ever. It is very gothic inside and you can spend hours just looking at all of the thoughtfully curated decorative accents. They have an extensive cocktail menu and the espresso martini was excellent. It had sherry in it in addition to vodka which was a unique recipe. They also have a roulette option where you spin the wheel and get whatever drink it lands on.
