Definitely 5 stars. It took a bit for us to be seated but once we were sat, the service was super fast. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich with French fries and the sandwich was big and so delicious. The fries came out perfectly cooked, hot, and crispy. The drinks are also massive - I got the Shirley temple 10/10. My sisters got the crispy chicken sandwich and the Buffalo wrap and both really enjoyed it as well. Great milkshakes also! read more

We were on a road trip and craving some hearty breakfast food when we stumbled upon the Rooster Run Cafe! This was was delicious! Service was fast and we had the friendliest waiter. My friend ordered an iced coffee and he brought her an iced coffee - even though it wasn't on the menu! The portions were huge and absolutely delicious. Best pancakes I've had in a while. My friend Tim and his mother Virina and I went up to Zion National Park and Horseshoe Bend for the day.On the way back we stopped here.Our server was Sharon.She was efficient and personable.When we walked in,the air conditioning was on quite high and it felt uncomfortably cold.I mentioned it to Sharon and she adjusted it to a more comfortable level which was a nice thing for her to do.The portions were quite large.For the most part we were satisfied with our food. We had an amazing brunch at the Rooster Run Cafe today. Labor Day - the place was packed! Our waitress Zoe greeted us upon walking in and sat us immediately! She immediately took our drink order and by the time she got back with our drinks we were ready to order. There was a large party seated next to us and I was slightly worried that we were in for a wait! But that was not the case! Our food came fast and was absolutely delicious! Zoe was attentive and quick to get exactly what you need! If you go in ask for her section! You won't be disappointed! Well worth the trip from Nevada! I did a pick up order. I am normally a great tipper. But I don't tip on pick up orders, no one is waiting on me bringing me drinks and extra things I might need. When I got there the waitress said there was no tip left and I said I knew. She almost wouldn't give me my food that I paid for already online! She got very snotty! It is called gratuity! If I could leave 0 stars I would. Our drink order were wrong. They FINALLY came back to get our order. 35 minutes later we still had no food. Two tables who came in after us with more people got their food before us. We got up to leave. Went to tell the hostess. She couldn't even find our order. The food is decent café food and I have eaten there enough times to observe the service is either hit or miss. I have had the sweetest servers and then I've had ones that you could painfully tell they didn't care and then the ones who were just flat out rude. Hence the two stars. However be wary of how you have them cook your steak. However, they can cook pretty good eggs. read more

We were hungry from a long trip, say about 6 hours (drive time) long. Luckily for Thanksgiving this place was open for us to get anything in our stomach. The service is where I will start because the waitress was either not feeling like working during a holiday or that it's was quite packed for Thanksgiving. She mentioned if the hostess stated anything about not serving breakfast and we said no. We were both looking forward to a breakfast meal, but we were open to lunch and dinner options with no issues. She stated, "I am just here taking the orders and you can ask the manager she's right here." Again, we didn't have issues with not serving breakfast, we were patiently waiting to order. The overall environment and cleanliness was great. The service is were I feel lacked the most. As tourism, we have lost many restaurants in other areas of this country. So, please give your patrons a break. We were not looking forward to complain about not having breakfast options and when a conversation starts with speaking with a manager, then I think it is going far too much for exhausted people who drove all the way to support your community. She didn't come back to ask us if were ok or asked if we needed anything else. And no one came back to refill our water. Food was served not super hot, and it wasn't the best pulled pork sandwiches as it was quite dry. The chicken fried steak was not super great, it was also not very hot but ok. Overall, I probably would not come back here due to the service given and the food was not all too great. But happy to that your restaurant was open to a holiday. read more

Salads were possibly the best value I've ever had. Had the Caesar salad and added chicken, it came out with chopped tomato, cucumber, red onion, croutons, and very tasty dressing. Very large portion, I've paid so much more for so much less. The garden salad was an even better value and was the same portion size. Wife had the Belgium waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, I don't even remember what the kids ordered because they devoured it before I could steal a taste. Kids were even given a cookie at the end of their meal. Service was great too, they accommodate large groups easily, we were twelve strong. Waitress was quick with requests and two other employees helped with refills on before our drinks were even empty. Seriously though, if I lived closer, I would eat that salad every day. Came in just after this placed opened for business. It was a disaster. They didn't have enough help, couldn't seat people and limited menu due to lack of supplies. Almost 9 months later we decided to try them. Seen lots of business in the last few months so we're hoping for the best. It's a big place that's a remodeled Village Inn. They did a great job of decorating and making it their own. Very clean and well staffed. Middle of the week and lots of tables available. Hostess sat us down and got us started. We both decided on the Halibut Fish and Fries. It comes with Soup or Salad. I had the soup. Chicken Poblano with beans. It was very good. My Wife had the salad. They were both fresh and good size. When the course came we were again surprised. Large plates filled with 3 large pieces of Halibut with heaping French fries. Fresh Tartar Sauce and Lemon slices. For the price this was a great value. Fish was crispy and fresh. Fries were crunchy and had a coating on them that gave them a great taste. Service was also very good. They weren't very busy the night we were there so that could account for the great service and fast delivery of our meals. Would come again as it's close to where we live. First off we were seated and nobody came to the table for almost a half hour. There were not enough set ups and we had to ask 3 x's for them. The burgers are good! One of the people asked for crisp bacon and it was barely cooked. Three of us asked for no buns and got buns. Whatever you do don't get the fish it was awful, greasy and burnt. The Caesar salad had iceberg and powdered parm. Onion rings were burnt and didn't seem to have onions in them. Maybe they need a little more time to figure things out read more

The food here is quite good. The deep fried pickles are great. They had so many things I wanted to try. I ended up with the barnyard burger. It was huge, messy, and really good. My husband loved the meatloaf also. The staff were nice, but a bit busy. It looked like they needed more help. It took a while to get our food, but we weren't in a hurry. The decorations were great. This restaurant on the main drag (State Street) can accommodate groups so we often go here with family gatherings. On the flip side, if we go as a couple they can usually fit us in because there are places for smaller groups. Traditional American food, we like breakfast here. However, I'm always game for the daily special. I had stuffed bell pets once that were almost as good as mine! That's what you want to say about a restaurant. read more

I was feeling really lucky. This restaurant was right next to my hotel, I'm old enough to get a 10% senior discount (finally!!!), and they serve breakfast all day...as well as ice cream shakes! I enter, then wait. No one up front to greet, but about 30 seconds later, a young lady comes out and immediately takes me to my table. She has me wait while she gets a damp cloth to clean the table for me...great, I like a clean table. When I sit down, the table is still wet, so I use the napkin that held my silverware to dry the table. So far, some good, and some just ok. It turns out she will be my server, and she asks me for my drink order to start things off. I order a glass of water and a chocolate shake without whipped cream (but a cherry on time would be ok). I had already checked out the breakfast menu, and was all set, until I saw that they have banana cream pie as a dessert. Ok, change of plan...no breakfast (it's mid-afternoon). I decide on a Caesar salad and meatloaf to make it an actual dinner...the water and shake arrive. HUGE glass for the drinks here! It looks like 48 oz. Well, that's for the water, but I see another customer with a soda that size. My kind of place! The shake is smaller, but the taste is excellent...obviously made with real ice cream! Meatloaf and salad arrive. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are smothered in brown gravy, and there are some mixed veggies on the plate too. Veggies are unseasoned and seem steamed, which is ok, because there's lots of gravy, and it's delicious! Plenty for everything on the plate. The salad had a little too much grated Parmesan cheese and croutons, but the dressing looked home made, and was also very good. I must have been hungry, because all of the food disappeared rather quickly, and it was time for the pie! Sadly, it was banana FLAVORED cream pie, with no pieces of banana included that I could find. The texture was a little watery, and seemed strange. Not the greatest ending to a rather enjoyable meal, but I eventually get the check, and notice there's no deduction to my senior discount applied anywhere. I ask my server, and she goes away to check, coming back to tell me that they gave me the senior meatloaf plate (I calculated it was discounted $4 from the regular portion!), and that is the only discount they can give. What???? I can only hope that the portion is the same for the regular and senior plates, but that would be tough to find out. Some pluses and some negatives overall for this visit. I plan to try again tomorrow with just the breakfast menu and see how things go. I should mention that I read some of the other reviews that said the main dishes came out cold, and I did not find that to be the case. Everything was delivered at the correct temp. OK, came back the next day for breakfast food! Ordered waffle (with real Vermont syrup...for an extra charge) with 2 eggs over medium and crispy bacon, along with another chocolate shake. Shake comes out first, and is gone by the time any food arrives...well done once again! I asked for the bacon and eggs to arrive first, with the waffle to be delayed so it's hot when I eat it. Eggs were over hard, with solid yolk, and bacon was well cooked, but still limp, so just ok with these two. The waffle came out next, and it was good sized (barely smaller than the plate), and a perfect golden brown, with a scoop of whipped butter on top. The Combo with the real syrup tasted fantastic, but unfortunately I ran out of syrup before the end of the waffle. Used the house syrup, which was a poor substitute to finish off. Much better meal this time, with only a couple of negatives. I received the check, and once again had to ask for my senior discount. I found out the server was new (same one as yesterday), so I'll give a pass for the slight errors there. She did well on the customer service, refilling my water several times as well as coming out to see how the meal was going. Based on this second day's experience, I'll move up to 4 stars on the review. I would recommend trying a meal here. read more

This is a big no thank you.... It is a very dated restaurant and the menu goes right along with that. Our appetizer was the cheese curds - those were the highlight of our meal. I ordered the chicken melt - a hot sandwich. The chicken was cold - like right out a refrigerator; the bacon was room temp at best and the cheese was at the point of where it only wilted because the bread was slightly warm from being placed on a flat top grill. - it wasn't toasted.
