A small Argentinian bakery in Bloomfield is situated in a semi-busy street. Outside seating (picnic benches with umbrellas); the only indoor seating is a booth (by window). Park on Sundays by the eye/optometrist place, which is right next to the bakery. On Sunday morning, the place was packed, and it's mostly a grab-and-go type of place. We got six chicken empanadas ($2.50 each). Argentinian empanadas are usually baked, and these ones were juicy and tasty. We also ordered a media luna, which on the menu is listed as a croissant with ham and cheese ($4.50) Worth it! A small latte ($2.50) and large cappuccino ($3.50) and a dulce de leche pastry ($1-2) in total we spent about $26.50 and it's worth it. The only negative was one of the workers. When we asked for a coffee holder and for our extra 2 empanadas (to make it an order of 6), my partner noticed she rolled her eyes at him as if annoyed. This was our first time visiting, and we didn't know how busy it could be on a Sunday morning, so for her to sigh and seem annoyed because we decided to ask for coffee cup holders made us second guess returning. Overall, food is tasty, affordable, and large portions are definitely a plus.

I love this bakery! The service is always great and their prices can't be beat! They have a decent sized parking lot on the side of the building. There's a few outdoor benches and indoor stools for dinning/drinking. I usually order the custard croissant, croissant toasted with butter, and a hot chocolate with almond milk. If you're in the area, skip the chain breakfast/bakery spots & support local!

Great place first time here. I had a media luna with ham and cheese and it was delicious. The croissant was super flaky and soft on the inside and had a glaze on the top that added a touch of sweetness to the sandwich, which was delicious. The Cafe con leche was less stronger than I'm used to with Puerto rican and Cuban versions and wasn't bad just wish it had less milk or more espresso. My only other qualm was that there wasn't a traditional menu and for someone new I felt a little flustered since I didn't know how or what I could order. They do have everything labeled in the case but I didn't know if I could get a croissant with say eggs or maybe add a different cheese. The place was packed on a Sunday morning and for a second while eating my sandwich, I forgot I was In Bloomfield (which is a good thing). I felt comfortable and immersed in a little slice of Argentina even if I was still in Jersey. Salud and thank you for a nice experience I'll definitely be back.

I come here often for Uruguayan empanadas and coffee. Not as good as Colombian empanadas but it hits the spot. It's a small place but there's plenty of people getting items to-go. There are seating to catch some futbol on the tele. Cc accepted. I don't think there is a restroom for the public. Plenty of free street parking.

Rombiolo is an awesome Uruguayan bakery with super reasonable prices and a huge selection. Chicken and beef empanadas were both solid, though my favorite treats were the Palmitas and sugar stick pastries. Friendly service and line moved quickly.

Our go to spot. Everything is delicious especially the iced coffee! Always impressed with their customer cakes.

We moved in right around the corner and wanted a bakery for our bread cravings. I think this is it for our little family. I wanted to try a cheese danish so bad, but they were sold out for the day. That just means I have to come back. The ham and cheese croissants were so good, especially with that hint of sweetness from the croissant's glaze. Not a super huge fan of the empanadas, but I did see that they had Cuban bread on the menu. I'll be checking it out next time!

Very yummy baked goods and nice staff! The variety of sweet breads is very good and everything taste fresh! I love the dulce de leche bread. I would like to try their coffee next time I visit. This bakery is near my baby's pediatrician so I'll definitely stop by again.

Oh, dulce de leche. I feel like I am supposed to love you. With your sweet, rich, caramelly self. And yet, invariably, I wind up disappointed. But I keep trying. Thus, whenever I spot a pastry or cake that features you, I can't seem to resist. So it was here: Anyway, got a mini jelly-roll type cake, and a breakfast pastry of some kind; both filled with yeah... you guessed it... dulce de leche. And they were... I don't know... cloying and one-dimensional. Buttery caramel done right, which to me means it has a slight bitter edge and smokiness, plus a hit of salt, is just more my thing. Dulce de leche, which to my understanding is typically made by slow-cooking condensed milk, is heavier, more milky, and alas, overwhelmingly sweet, imo. Luckily, also got several Empanadas and a package of Palmiers, aka Elephant Ear Cookies. The latter; airy, crunchy and caramelized with sugar, were a big hit with the kid and Mama was also pretty fond of them. Just $4.00 nets you a whole slew, too. The very best thing, though, was the Empanadas. We stowed them in our freezer for later, and they reheated beautifully @ 350 for about 10-15 minutes. They made for perfect lunchbox stuffers, but really, just delicious anytime. I tried one stuffed with ground beef and one with chicken, and while I *think* they were originally baked rather than fried, their crusts were ultra-thin and crisp. Really lovely. Bottom line: I may well have finally given up on dulce de leche after my experience here. But the Empanadas and Palmiers more than redeemed things.

Legit South American bakery owned and operated by a small group of South Americans. Good selection of cookies, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and quiches, and reasonably priced. The croissants and cookies are super fresh and a must-try! Plenty of street parking out front.

Amazing bakery! We were looking for a nice place to get some food catered for our baby shower. After going there and trying some of their products we decided that they were the ones to do it. We had a lovely spread of mini empanadas, spinach and zucchini tartas which were all cut up to a nice small size and a lovely cake. We worked with Claudio and he was very helpful and nice throughout the whole process. Their products are very high quality. I would definitely go to them again for catering and plan to stop by for breakfast every now and then. read more

Amazing Bakery literally two minutes from my home. I've decided to start supporting small businesses more and more. I am so glad I gave this place a try. I didn't get any names but I saw the same girl at the counter both times I went. She is very patient and takes her time with each customer. It's not a rushed service I mean I waited a bit for the customers in front of me to finish but it was all worth it when I was treated with the same time and patience. I asked for a couple of things and I'm pretty particular not once did I sense her being annoyed or bothered. I am obsessed with this place. Great food, fresh coffee and spectacular service read more

This place is simply love! I come here for their home made empanadas and alfajores. Their empanadas is soft, warm, and fresh always. Not crusty and crumby. And full of flavor. The alfajores which i never had any place is else is an Argentinian pastry. Sort of looks like a french macaron but not really and it has just the write sweetness to it! They could probably make some renovations inside the cafe to make it more homey but otherwise its cute inside and they are friendly! read more

The cafe con leche is amazing, the staff is wonderful. Natalia is a doll, very sweet. She sees u pull up and your coffee is being made as you walk in. A must visit, everything is delicious. This is the best Uruguayan bakery in New Jersey. Their biscochos are the best and always fresh...they taste just as good as ones you would find in Uruguay. Actually, everything I've tried here has been superb. The personal pizzas, Olympico sandwiches, empanadas, pascualina, torta de fiambre, chaja cake, etc. I can go on and on! I enjoyed my trips to this bakery. Argentinian style baked goods, Empanadas are fantastic; bread is great and desserts are excellent. I didn't try the cakes. Sandwiches are the best deal in town. Coffee is good too (as you like it). Friendly owners and Andrea is a patient caring hostess. Rombiolo bakery will become a go-to for me. read more

This place has saved me on many occasions now. I have purchased many of their cakes to bring to parties and celebrations for a few reasons. 1. They are very delicious and everyone loves them (Try the peach with dulce de leche!) 2. $6.95 for a cake that serves ~8-10 people is a steal with this quality 3. They are super nice folks that run a nice little business and it shows. 4. Their cakes are ready to be boxed up and I am on my way in minutes. They also have awesome small specialty cakes, like personal carrot cakes with fancy decorations by the pound which are really nice for finer dinner parties. read more

Not only does this place have the best Danish I've ever had in my life but they also just saved the day by making me a perfect smash cake with only a few hours' notice. I ordered my son's smash cake from another local bakery but wasn't happy with it. So I called Rombiolo and they made exactly what I wanted - and for 25% less! The staff is always friendly and helpful too. Love love love Rombiolo!!! read more

This bakery is not far from where I live and I had no idea what a nice little gem they were. Great place for a dessert and coffee. The place is small but they have a nice variety of cakes, pastries and savory food. The mini desserts are absolutely decadent and the cakes are quite unusual as they are not the usual run of the mill type that one sees at other bakeries. The owners and service staff are friendly and welcoming and I wish I could visit more but I have to keep tabs on the sugar intake. read more

Definitely my favorite bakery in the area. Mornings find this neighborhood favorite packed with loyal regulars. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Their ham and cheese croissants, muffins and alfajores are always a hit at any party I bring them to. Cappuccino is made with perfectly whipped-up froth, and their iced coffee mocha is better than any that I've tried from the usual chain coffee shops-and a lot more reasonably priced! I also need to mention that when I made a last minute request for a special order cake, they were more than helpful and truly delivered! 5 stars all the way. read more

YUM! First time visiting Rombiolo this afternoon and it won't be the last. Small spot with such cute interior. Everything is kept really clean. The pastries were all really fresh and their bread looked delish. I ordered a beef empanada today for $2- packed with a very generous amount compared to other places. Can't beat it for the price. Cafe con leche was great. Everything is very fairly priced. The barista was really polite and knowledgeable of everything in the bakery. I'll be returning for a sit down meal at some point. So glad I found this place! read more

I used to live within walking distance of this bakery gem! I admit I am saddened that I have moved away from here. I have tried and loved the peach dulce de leche cake, the zucchini quiche and spinach pie, and the assorted pastries! All is reasonably priced and yummy! The pastries were always a hit for bridal showers and work parties. The only critique I have is to make some plain croissants. All I have ever tried have a sweet glaze on them. The cafe con leche is exactly like what I got in Buenos Aires years ago. No bitterness at all. So good! The pastries are a perfect size (palm sized) to go with the coffee. Just enough. My fave is the dulce de leche for which there is a generous amount in the soft pastry. The empanadas are delicious and oven baked (and less than $2 each!). The fillings have a nice flavor albeit not too spicy. Last, the service is great - friendly and helpful. Oh, there are about 5 tables with tall stools. A little more crowded in the mornings but plenty of room in the mid-afternoon on a weekday. I plan to stop by again and get as many empanadas as possible to bring home, freeze and enjoy over the summer. read more

Just go and try any of the alfajores variations or the empanadas and you won't be dissapointed. I am not a big caramel or dulce de leche lover but their desserts are such a treat especially in the sea of Italian bakeries in NJ. read more

A hidden gem (yes, an over-used phrase, but appropriate) this bakery stands out for it's cafe con leche and authentic baked goods. If you have dietary concerns, ie. gluten free, sugar free, low carb, then stick to the coffee and breath in the deliciousness of their on-site baking! read more

Excellent place!! I needed a birthday cake and they prepared freshly for me upon request, delicious and so fresh that it would melt in your mouth, very affordable!! The place is very cozy and clean, and the workers provide a very good service. I'm definitely going back, I never write reviews but in this case was worth it! I will recommend it to all my friends, even if you are not in the area is worth the driving. Excelente lugar! Excellent. Excellent. Cafe con leche, soft fluffy croissants with ham and cheese. Freshly baked bread and delicious pastries. Will definitely be making a run here for some Thanksgiving and Christmas goodies. Their hours are fabulous compared to a few other bakeries in the area, too. Only drawback, parking is not readily available on that side of the street. There is a parking lot, but the signs seem to indicate that it's for the eye center only. I'll have to go back super soon and double check, any excuse for more. read more

Great little spot with fresh baked goods and very reasonable prices. I usually get the ham & cheese croissant or the cheese danish. The beef empanadas are also really good and stuffed to the edges. Everything tastes like it was just baked and the staff are very pleasant. Great food, prices and service makes for a winning combo. You should definitely go check em' out! read more

This bakery is a hidden jewel in NJ. If you find it, you are lucky. You will get New York quality goods but without the prices - or the attitude. The croissants are a labor of love. All their cakes, pastries and breads and their coffee are out of this world. If you drive by and don't stop in for a treat - you are missing out. read more

The raspberry pistachio croissant was pretty but im just not a raspberry fan in general and found the filling to be quite tarty. for drinks, I got their Mocha latte and enjoyed that as well. If I ever stop by again im definitely getting those madeleines one more time!

Both the bourbon and bacon flavors work off of each other and the sweetness of the icing, neither are fully present. What's created is sweet and salty combo with some flair. I highly recommend trying this, though it is sweeter than my perference. The icing on the pomegranate sourdough donut was too sweet though it enhanced the tanginess of the bread. It was hard to bit through, we ended up cutting into bit size pieces. As an experiment, I removed the icing from a standard donut and found the bread to be similar to holla or challah, except dryer. The croissant ended up tasting like a loaf of white bread. The layers were thick and not that much butter flavor came through.

Good texture, high butter content, but flat taste. Latte: 3.5/5 stars. Nice and hot, good alternative milk option, but too mild on espresso. When "Rombioli" opened up a year ago, we were very excited- finally a Cafe in the neighborhood (We lived in Park Slope before...) And owners Claudio and Natalia didn't disappoint, this place rocks!!! Super tasty Cakes (had one for my birthday, with custard, dulce de lecce and extreme 'light' cream-OMG), Cookies, Bagels.. you name it ...and great coffee.
