Great service, loved their variety of different cream cheeses, I recommend their chive spread. Salmon was fresh, generous with their portions. Bathroom is clean and well kept up. They offer sandwiches, paninis, burgers, salads, and more. Good lunch/ breakfast spot. Would come again, thanks. read more

This bagel shop is always busy and for good reason! The bagels are fresh and delicious definitely some of the better ones around. The staff is super attentive and friendly, and even though there's usually a long line, it moves quickly thanks to how many people they have working behind the counter. Parking is easy with plenty of spots right outside, which is a big plus. One small thing: their Taylor ham is cooked on a grill that leaves a bit of a char line on it, which I'm personally not a fan of. When I order my Taylor ham, egg, and cheese, I always ask for it on the flat grill instead (much better that way) Prices are a little on the higher side, but overall, it's a solid spot for a great breakfast sandwich and a good cup of coffee. read more

I'm here from Arizona for work and swung in for a bagel, OMG one of the best bagels I have ever had. So fresh and the spread was amazing. To the gentleman (didn't catch his name) who helped me behind the counter, he was the nicest person and I will for sure be back. Thank you! read more

Bagels are fresh; Sammie's are great and service is quick... Always a good experience !

I came on a Sunday morning and it was pretty busy, even though it was snowing. They have a lot of workers so the line moves fast, so I would recommend knowing what you want before you get in line. There are tables to dine in, but I noticed a lot of people were just getting takeout. Parking is on the street but there are plenty of spaces. I got a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. It was good, but nothing special. I wish the bagel was toasted more, there was hardly a crust on it. My Taylor ham was also burnt. However, they did cook the eggs perfectly and I like how they put a slice of cheese on both sides of the bagel. They also load it up with ketchup which I didn't mind, but if you're not a fan keep that in mind. read more

Hands down our absolute favorite bagel shop! We used to live in the are, but moved about 24 years ago and still anytime we are in the are we head to Hot Bagels Abroad. Other states don't have a clue how to make bagels and honestly, I think people in the NY/NJ area take their amazing bagels for granted! On this trip we had a plain bagel with olive cream cheese. Olive is hands down my favorite. Though I do miss the roasted red pepper. My husbands to is always the TH, egg and cheese on everything. My son gets a plain with butter and my daughters go to is the French toast bagel. The crunch of the bagel crust and the softness of the inside of the bagel is my favorite part! Store was hopping this weekend, but always clean, has a nice menu display and great workers! read more

Very good bagel well done - wouldn't give it five stars in the line of the top 10 places I've tried in my life, but certainly worth being a local go to spot that my friend from Montclair took me to out of the way. Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon was top notch with quality salmon. Enough fish, but not so much that it's gross. Quality schemer with a quality bagel. read more

I was in the area this morning and found a bagel spot nearby to try out. Service was great! Street parking was reliable and efficient on a Wed morning. I found the food to be very expensive compared to other local NJ spots!! 2 bagels with cream cheese, 1 apple juice and 1 orange juice ran be $15. My sesame bagel wasn't hot and very hard (it's 7:30 am when I placed and received my order). read more

Great bagel spot! Fresh and made on the premises . The young lady at the register was sooo nice and wore a bright smile to each customer and it was pretty crowded! Bagels were how I like them firm on the outside a bit and nice and chewy in the inside! They toasted it very nice and didn't overdo the butter and jelly like most places. The scallion cream cheese was also tasty as well. Nestled in my fav Brookdake section of Bloomfield! Will def be back! read more

Amazing place. Great bagels. I have been stopping in here a lot and the bagels hit the spot. Always fantastic!

SOOO GOOD. I've had the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and the french toast bagel with plain cream cheese. Both were toasted, I'm no amateur bagel eater. Amazing. AH MAZE ING. The size the bagels were huge, I love the amount of cream cheese on the bagel too. Nicely toasted that the cream cheese wasn't too melted. Beautiful bagel, beautiful time, and eaten by a beautiful girl. read more

Delicious bagels, even the vegan options were phenomenal, Very much worth the try! Came in on Saturday morning, great environment. They were pretty busy so clearly people like their bagels! I got an everything bagel w scallion cream cheese. While I think the texture was good, for me it was a little lacking in taste-both the cream cheese and the bagel itself. Especially because the garlic on the everything was pretty burnt so that flavor was really sticking out. I probably won't come back but I can see how some might like it! read more

I loooooooove a good bagel spot. Man I really do. I honestly have no idea why I haven't tried this place sooner. The staff is very quick, friendly & attentive. The little details matter and the shows! I placed my order for pickup (my first time having lox so I was a little indecisive on the phone) and the young lady was very patient and super kind. I walk in, huge line, staff is getting things done quickly.. which I loved. Like everyone was doing something to help someone it was so nice to see. It's my turn, the man who helped was super kind & personable. Made great suggestions to me for juices. The whole experience was awesome. Now the food: Perfect amount of lox!! So many people are cheap with stuff. Scallion cream cheese was a perfect compliment to it & the bagel itself was amazing... can't wait to try a traditional bacon egg & cheese next time. This place I would totally recommend, it fixed up my rainy Sunday morning. Everyone was pleasant, the food was perfect. I'm glad I tried a new bagel spot today. I loved it all, thank you! read more

I was in the area yesterday morning & I took a chance and yelp searched vegan cream cheese & lo' & behold Hot Bagels Abroad popped up! I was so pleased to see that there were MULTIPLE vegan tofu cream cheese options. I used to live in NYC where I was spoiled by the vegan tofu bagel options. NJ has been a bit behind and I have yet to find a place to accompany my vegan tofu cream cheese needs. I ordered the whole wheat everything bagel with tofu veggie cream cheese. They also had olive tofu cream cheese and 2-3 other options, but I stopped looking after I saw veggie cream cheese bcuz home is where the heart is. Ok fine, I lied, I ordered two bagels! Listen one for the ride home and one for later. Had to take advantage of this lovely surprise! Also, the gentleman who made my bagel was friendly. I'll be back!! *I'm updating it and taking just a half star off - if I could - just because the bagel was a bit denser than I'd like it to be. I like my bagels on the fluffy side.* still delicious! read more

I LOVED THIS VEGAN CREAM CHEESE BAGEL. Obsessed. I did try their sandwiches as well, but I wasn't a big fan. The monte cristo has a lot of dressing which I did not like. In my opinion, less is more. I believe you can ask for no dress or a less amount; therefore, this is rectifiable. Nonetheless, they are known for their bagels and I can tell why because they are crispy and the flavor is heavenly. I would recommend the bagels over the sandwiches. Please have cash available if you want to pay less otherwise, they do have a card fee that increases the price of each item. read more

Nothing better than Hot Bagels everytime I come back home to Bloomfield. It's seriously the first place I go too after landing at EWR. I have had better bagels but it was good and the veggie cream cream had larger pieces of vegetables than normal and that was very good. My complaint is the bagel selection menu is no where to be found. When a customer orders a bagel at the counter registers they then move to the left blocking the bagels behind glass and one does not know what bagels they offer. BUT there is wall space behind and above the registers that is ample space to have the selections offered. All it takes is a trip to signsusa to get something too put up there. read more

My friends and I specifically drive to this bagel spot 30 minutes away from us because it is just that good. First of all, there are lines to the door so that's a good indicator. Second, I went to purchase the last salt bagel but the associate did not sell it to me saying "you don't want that" all because it was a little on the almost stale side. They good have easily sold me that one, but refused to because they believe in providing a quality product to their customers. A+ from me! read more

I couldn't find really excellent bagels in West New York, NJ so we make the trek to Bloomfield for Hot Bagels Abroad. Their bagels are so fluffy and still chewy on the outside. Asiago is good and so is multigrain and Black Russian. They perfected their bacon egg and cheese. Bacon is always crispy and on point and fried egg well cooked. Bonus points for getting a char on the sausage to get it well seared! Bonus points for crispy hash browns. Can't tell you how many times I received soggy hash browns at a bagel joint! No complaints here! read more

I had mixed feelings about this place. The first time I came here it was the best bacon egg and cheese sandwich ever. The bacon was so good. The second time I came here, it was pure ass shit. They gave me 5 week old bacon. I don't know if I can come back after the second experience. read more

This bagel shop is your neighborhood winner. For the exception of 1 or 2 staff members everyone smile and courteous. Great place for bagel sandwiches the coffee needs work. My favorite thing about these guys is that every year they hold a tree lighting get together for everyone. SANTA claus arrives in his sleigh which is on the back of a flatbed tow truck...GOTTA LOVE IT. This place is great! They have four different types of tofu cream cheese, which is great news for vegans or those who can't have milk. This place and the one on Montclair, it gets busy no matter what time of the week you go in the morning. You can either park in the street, or at the iHop lot to either grab and go, or if you wish you enjoy your bagel with whatever filling your heart's desires. Most of us, just grab and go our merry way out. Yet, there are some souls that choose to enjoy them immediately. The bagel and cream cheese offering is your standard choice but the quality and freshness are without any comparison to other bagel delis in the area. Have done road trips to other state and always make sure to get my bagel with cream cheese for the road. Otherwise, end up regretting getting one around New Brunswick as the quality is not up to my standard preference. Had to say it! read more

Wow, I can't believe I didn't review my favorite bagel joint. So here it goes... Simply the best. Food, service, atmosphere. The bagels are so good, that pessimistic Soho NYC coworkers called them "the best they ever had" when I took them to a room full of twenty to thirty something hipster know it alls . The sandwiches as you can see by my many photos are top notch, filled to the rim with quality ingredients and most importantly served consistently delicious and with a smile. You get to know the people in the neighborhood just by spending the time eating your breakfast or lunch (ask for a club card buy 10/get 1 Free) sandwich in the very accommodating cozy interior, with clean tables, bathrooms, and even satellite TV. Outdoors in the spring and summer they have tables with umbrellas for those who want fresh air. In the winter at the holidays they have the biggest tree in the town of Bloomfield, have a fire pit, run drives for schools and kids, this place is an institution of the community. The venerable Max runs the show of the best damn staff of any bagel and short order operation anywhere, any business would be proud to run this efficiently, so don't be scared or surprised by the occasional line, this place is worth the short wait. read more

There are a lot of good bagel places in the area, so there really wasn't anything special about Hot Bagels Abroad. Except for the fact that they sell rainbow bagels with funfetti cream cheese. I went around noon on a Monday. They were still pretty busy, with a short line. I ordered 3 rainbow bagels with funfetti cream cheese. I was warned that it was just food coloring and that it would taste like a normal plain bagel. They were right, it tasted like a normal bagel. Been here a couple times now and I've really enjoyed my experiences! They have a wide variety of bagels, they even have "flagels" (flat bagels for those healthy conscious folks) and they have a large cream cheese spread! I truly have to say, their iced coffee is easily one of my favorites as well. I've ordered food off the grill and have been extremely satisfied each time. The service is great, and there is plenty of seating space inside. Everything looks clean and everyone is always very welcoming. I look forward to continue to try items off their menu as many of my fellow yelpers have great recommendations! read more
