Love the bagels here. They are the perfect combo of chewy and soft. Grab a few for later since the they still have the right texture after a day or two! I only wish they toasted the bagels better - there's barely a difference between untoasted and toasted (I've ordered both).

Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel.

The best bagels in Montclair. Friendly owners and good service! Bagels are fresh and sandwiches are generous with quality ingredients.

Overpriced. Bagel with cream cheese and a coffee was $7.56. Quality was good but seems way too much $

Incredible bagels! Love the variety and that they have gluten free. I recommend bacon egg and cheese on a bagel.

Does this shop make Montreal Style Bagels? We had these recently in Mexico and loved them. Looking for similar bagels here in North Jersey.

To rebut fellow Yelper, David R.: theoretically there may be "better" bagels somewhere in the tri-state area.

They have mini bagels, flat bagels, and all the fun flavors. Tons of different cream cheese to choose from. They give a good amount without it feeling like a huge glob block. All the staff is nice. Old metal heads. Cool to see old music memorabilia on the walls.. someone must be from New Orleans too because there's a lot of saints and New Orleans stuff. I'm a big everything bagel guy (and either with BEC or with just plain untoasted with butter). They always have some fun variations on the typical everything bagel. Love when they have the Asiago Everything available - what a treat! Tons of cheese melted on top and it just goes really well with whatever you pair it with. Been going here now and then for years. Not always the easiest spot to get parking (the lot can fill up for sure) and sometimes there's a wait, but the bagels are always super fresh and delicious. Highly recommended if you're in the Clifton area or coming through and need a bite. Just realize there are no tables or anything, so you may have to bring home or eat in your car!

Absolutely unacceptable experience…read more I called around 8am to place an order and asked for both sandwiches to be made without cheese -- a very basic request. Instead of a simple yes or no, I was told they "couldn't do that" that next time i need to order the right thing and then hung up on mid-sentence. When i tried to call back the phone was disconnected. Hanging up on a customer for asking for no cheese is wild. It's not about the request -- it's about the attitude and lack of basic customer service. I make an effort to support small businesses, but respect goes both ways. Opening your doors just to be rude to customers is not it. I won't be coming back.

This was one of those reviews where it was a true 3 1/2 stars but since we can't select 1/2 a star…read moreI had to decide whether I rounded up or down ... so down it was. The reasons for rounding down and not up are pretty simple. The place itself has random slabs of wood and TV boxes laying around and the dust on the wires to their illuminated window sign and the fan next to it looks like it was growing since 1997. Plus, there's 4 people behind the counter engaged in their own conversation and meanwhile I'm just standing at the counter waiting to be helped. Aaaaaand bc there's no menu on the wall like you find in most bagel shops and delis ... but here they just have 2 paper menus taped to the lower half of their walls. If the bagels weren't as good as they are this would've easily been a 2 star review, but there's no debating that they make really solid and large bagels! They also stuff the bagel sandwiches decently and once you order it's ready pretty quickly. And the coffee is really good too ... and hot! So there were lots of goods and lots of not so goods that contributed to the 3 stars. I might be back ... and that's only to try a toasted bagel with cream cheese.

I went to Bagels by Jarrett tonight based on a recommendation from an Instagram influencer…read more I have to say, they have a weird setup. You can't go in the actual restaurant. If you ordered ahead of time, you park in front of the restaurant and wait in your car as a girl comes and gives you your order. Otherwise, you go into the restaurant next door, The Slice Shop, and order from a tablet. Odd. I wound up ordering The Cutlet Joe Triple Decker. It was a good sandwich, don't get me wrong, but it costs $22. That's kinda wild. It comes with a side of chips, pickles, and coleslaw. I also ordered a buffalo ranch slice from the slice shop, which cost $5. Also decent. I definitely appreciate the uniqueness of their menu, but I won't be returning for a long time due to the high prices.

Jarrett serves everything, and I mean everything -- bagels, pizza, cheesesteaks, subs...need gluten free? He's got that too The food speaks for itself...everything tastes fresh, perfectly textured, and is consistently excellent. But what really sets this place apart is the pride behind it. You don't get that rushed, transactional vibe here. You get someone who actually wants you to have a great experience, and it shows in every interaction and order. Customer service is second to none. Jarret is friendly, transparent, present, and genuinely invested in what he's doing. That's rare these days -- and it makes the whole place feel different in the best way. You feel not just satisfied, but impressed. Like you just found a spot you're going to keep going back to without even thinking about it.
