Absolutely unacceptable experience. I called around 8am to place an order and asked for both sandwiches to be made without cheese -- a very basic request. Instead of a simple yes or no, I was told they "couldn't do that" that next time i need to order the right thing and then hung up on mid-sentence. When i tried to call back the phone was disconnected. Hanging up on a customer for asking for no cheese is wild. It's not about the request -- it's about the attitude and lack of basic customer service. I make an effort to support small businesses, but respect goes both ways. Opening your doors just to be rude to customers is not it. I won't be coming back. read more

There is no care taken with a sandwich. They cut the bagel but none of the things on it. The egg isn't even really on the sandwich. Tomatoes not cut, just thrown on the top so I have to reconstruct the sandwich and then cut it myself before I can eat it. read more

This was one of those reviews where it was a true 3 1/2 stars but since we can't select 1/2 a star I had to decide whether I rounded up or down ... so down it was. The reasons for rounding down and not up are pretty simple. The place itself has random slabs of wood and TV boxes laying around and the dust on the wires to their illuminated window sign and the fan next to it looks like it was growing since 1997. Plus, there's 4 people behind the counter engaged in their own conversation and meanwhile I'm just standing at the counter waiting to be helped. Aaaaaand bc there's no menu on the wall like you find in most bagel shops and delis ... but here they just have 2 paper menus taped to the lower half of their walls. If the bagels weren't as good as they are this would've easily been a 2 star review, but there's no debating that they make really solid and large bagels! They also stuff the bagel sandwiches decently and once you order it's ready pretty quickly. And the coffee is really good too ... and hot! So there were lots of goods and lots of not so goods that contributed to the 3 stars. I might be back ... and that's only to try a toasted bagel with cream cheese. read more

I wanted to like these bagels but I don't think I did. The scallion cream cheese had hardly any scallions and wasn't mixed good, lots of chunks of cream cheese. 2.9 is crazy. They've never let me down! I consider myself a pretty tough critic. I'm from NYC and I'm very familiar with great bageltries. Yes, I made that up, but you get the jist. Tons of times I've ordered a dozen of bagels to my home and they come fresh, warm, slightly crispy but soft and chewy. Perfect most of the time. They have a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches and my family loves their BECs and Taylor pork sandwiches. In this field I've dealt with a lot of hit or miss bagel places. For the most part, BBB doesn't falter. They remain pretty consistent regardless of times rapid changing. I would suggest you give it a try for yourself. Service is always reasonably nice. read more

Had a brunch meeting and we ordered from here. Every we ordered was very good!! The eggs were perfectly cooked, the potatoes could use a little more seasoning, but over all was good. I go there not only for the bagels but the service. Lola, Joe, and the rest of the team are always friendly and remember my name, face, and order every time I visit. And they are always super-busy, for obvious reasons, but still keep customer service . My mother-in-law lives in Central New York and demands (not really) that I bring her a dozen of BBB every time we visit. Came here early morning, two other people were here who must've been waiting for their order. Took about 5 minutes for a worker to acknowledge me. When he comes up front he just says "yes?" Not friendly at all! Order an onion bagel with butter, warmed not toasted. He rudely ask "what else?!" I said that's all. They burnt my bagel and with the same glove he was using for my bagel he used to cash me out, and returned to my bagel to butter it. So major contamination that you can see happening here! Ordered ahead and asked for a wrap with avocado. (1 sandwich!) Told it would be 20 minutes...came in to pick it up and my order was nowhere to be found, the. I was told they don't even have avocado and was asked who took my order. They offered to make my wrap and proceeded to do so, since they had no avocado I asked for some hot sauce. It took them another 10 minutes to make my sandwich and of course...not hot sauce. So all in all it took them 30 minutes to make one egg sandwich that i ate in 5. Not worth calling ahead, not worth going in. Much more rather drive another half mile and go to bagels abroad. I'm sorry but I have to write a bad review because I am fuming. I work in the restaurant business so I rarely order take out so when I do I am really in the mood for some good food. I ordered crispy well done bacon egg and cheese and as you can tell it wasn't well done at all. It was rubbery and I gave most of it to my dogs. I only ordered two bacon egg and cheeses and when I got there they were arguing with me that I ordered three when I obviously know what I ordered. For the bacon egg and cheese with butter there was literally a dime size amount of butter it was dry as the Grand Canyon on a hot summer day. I wanted what I wanted. This is the second time here that they messed up my order. I hate to complain but I was starving and very disappointed. I like their bagels but you really can't mess up on that. Let me start by saying I have eaten here several times before and for the most part have never had an issue until today. Our orders were the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The buffalo chicken wrap lacked spiciness and buffalo sauce, the chicken was dry, and was a little oily. The Santa Fe Chicken Wrap was not spicy as described and extremely oily. The plate was covered in oil and oil dripped from the wrap. In the picture it is not sauce on the plate but straight oil. I would not order this Wrap again due to the oil. I was excited to find a rainbow bagel store in NJ after recently discovering the original bagel store that started this trend. The cream cheese tasted like amaretto?! Such an odd flavor for cream cheese to have. Must be the mix of cream cheese and sugar...I don't know for sure, but it was odd. After one bite I was done. It wasn't the flavor I was expecting. The bagel is chewy and soft but not the same texture or flavor as the original. It's really just a colored plain bagel. This review is only for the bagel, it's the only reason I went out of my way to go to this store. I'm sure the other items are good, but no reason to come back when there are other bagel stores closer to me. Service was good and they have a nice selection of other things. Of course my vacation had to fall during one of the hottest weeks in New Jersey, in the summer, when tons of people decide to take their own vacations. "Why not go for a jog?" I had the bright idea one morning while we were bereft of a car. In the mid-90-degree weather, that jog quickly turned into a power walk, which soon turned into a sluggish walk. After stopping by a few Bloomfield Pokestops, we decided to grab some brunch. The place wasn't very crowded, and, I admit, the sign advertising rainbow bagels played a factor in luring me in. While there are a few daily specials, we stuck to the usual menu and ordered a wrap, a sandwich, and a rainbow bagel, as well as a few bottled drinks from the fridge to cool us down in the summer heat. Service was pretty quick, and the food was solid, if nothing to write home about but good to recommend to others. The Italian sandwich was huge, well-filled, refreshing, and came on a sourdough-like bread, if a bit hard to bite through. The wrap came with freshly sauteed veggies, including some of the thinnest breaded eggplant I've come across. I had to wait a few minutes for the wrap to cool down! We really enjoyed the sandwich/wraps. The rainbow bagel tasted like, well, a bagel. They put a heaping layer of horseradish bacon cream cheese on top, which I didn't care for too much. However, cream cheese compliments bagels well anywhere. There are a few tables to sit at and a pretty clean restroom, and I appreciate that the dining area is well-maintained. Bloomfield's Best will definitely fill you up, but you might want to take a nap afterwards. Or it could be the heat. Either way, it's a good place to go for a solid breakfast/lunch/brunch. Haven't been there in awhile so decided to go today (20 mins ago to be exact). Foods always been good there but what bothered me today is that they are not enforcing the mask requirement. Another customer there took his mask off to answer a phone call and proceeded to wander around the inside of the store talking on the phone with his mask under his chin and getting very close to others. The employees watched but said nothing. I'd rather go somewhere that wants to keep their customers safe. UPDATE: the food USED to be good. Bagel that I got was horrible. read more

Considering we got 2 bagels for under $5, I was happy. The first was the poppyseed toasted with cream cheese. It was warm, not really toasted, but loaded with cream cheese. I read that one Yelper complained of a lack of cream cheese. Not the case on this bagel. The second bagel, (garlic bagel) I ordered to go with the cream cheese on the side, which they got right. And again, there was more than enough cream cheese in what appeared to be a 4 oz. to-go cup. I've also read other Yelpers complaining about this place not being clean. I disagree. I heard BBB did some renovations so perhaps those reviews pre-date the renovations. The only thing keeping me back from giving the supposed new and improved BBB 4 stars is the wait time. This is one area where I do agree with my fellow Yelpers. There was one other customer in the store on the Sunday morning I went and I waited about 15 minutes to get 2 bagels to go, only one of which was toasted. My preference remains Hot Bagels Abroad. read more

UGHHH, I loved their scallion cream cheese. They are so generous with their cream cheese on their bagels that it's delicious. I would recommend their everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Amazingly tasty and affordable. My brother had a croissant with egg, cheese, and Taylor ham and he loved it. We will be returning soon. read more
