Grilled Chicken, Avocado, Tomato, and Fetta Sandwich
    Daniel R.

Haven't been in a while so decided to order lunch while we were home working and schooling virtual. I've been over the years and don't remember Bonjour blowing me away, but I do enjoy their coffee. Lunch wasn't anything spectacular, some of the comments were "too much bread for my turkey sandwich" and "the mozzarella wasn't that good." The Grilled Chicken sandwich gained good reviews and the salads were a plus. Overall, on the average, but I'm sure I'll continue to pop in for a cup of coffee or whatever.

Very quick and filling! Definitely recommend this place! So many options to choose from and they even have a gluten-free crepe option. We ordered the Portobello mushroom, spinach, feta, and onion crepe that I added prosciutto to and a Fresh strawberry nutella crepe. Overall, it was very enjoyable and I will definitely be back!

I like big crepes and I cannot lie . We tried to order from our usual place (Le Petit Parisian) and found out that they took all the crepes off the menu. The horror. So we drove to the next option, Bonjour! This place is small but they have additional outdoor seating. It's casual so service wasn't like a sit down restaurant. We ordered dessert crepes and they were huge! Way bigger than le petit. All of us were full but had to force ourselves to finish because the crepes were so delicious. I ordered the banana, strawberry and Nutella crepe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Super good and super cheap! Highly recommend!

Crepes are truly one of the best in NJ. Decent coffee also and fresh croissants. Shop is very tight inside and has some musty smell, luckily there was couple of tables outside where we could enjoy our breakfast. Good to drop by or order to go, allow some wait time.

I ordered breakfast for pick up the other day from here. There is street metered parking available in front of the restaurant. I ordered 2 crepes for my boyfriend and I to try. I ordered the smoked salmon crepe with goat cheese, tomato, pesto and the morning crepe with feta and tomato. I didn't enjoy them as much as I would have liked to cause the cheese overpowered the crepe in both for me. It just tasted way too salty, partially my fault for going with those cheeses. Maybe next time I'll go for different cheeses. Without the goat cheese in the salmon crepe, it tasted delicious. And the portions are big.

Bonjour Montclair is my #1 go to place for Outstanding Authentic Crepes! The crêperie is small with wooden tables inside. However, Great things do come in small packages. Some Parisian Style Pictures adorn the cafe. One picture cites the top places to see in Paris. You order at the counter, Counter service is very friendly. Should you decide to stay, a server will bring you the food on a platter whether your sitting inside or outside of the café. My favorite Crepe has Grilled Chicken, Brie,Tomatoes and Pinenuts. I must have Brie Cheese in all of my crepes :). Have to say all the crepe combinations are very good. IMPORTANT NOTE: Bonjour Montclair definitely does not skimp on any ingredients in their crepes. You get what you order and PLENTY of it. All the crepes come with a small side salad and a slice of a fruit in season. My past slices of fruits have been fresh watermelon, pineapple and cantaloupe. Delicious fresh and refreshing juices are available. Two of the juices I've had are (1) Cucumber and (2) a Combination Carrot and Ginger Juice. Cappuccino, Expresso and many teas are available too! A few Bonjour Montclair extras: -Outdoor Seating is available. -No credit cards accepted. -Open 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM. -Non metered and metered parking are available on the street. A small metered parking lot is within walking distance. Truly hope everyone comes out to try a fresh and delicious crepe. You definitely won't regret it. :)

Fresh squeeze OJ. $4.75 for a large but this did not feel like a large.

This time, it seemed to be lacking the rosemary seeds and flavor. The sauce was blah. We ordered Porn Star Martinis to start out the evening. The cocktails were delish! Our starter included a super yummy Pear Arugula flatbread! : ) Entrées included a French chicken $28 for me and Hangar Steak $35 for my friend. I had a Taste of the Hangar Steak. It was delicious. I wish, I had ordered it. Taking one star off because the French chicken was extremely dry. Our regular server did not serve the entrées. I didn't see our regular server to flag down. All the other servers were running around. Otherwise, I would've asked one of them. Our server came over when it was dessert time. We decided to order Espresso Martini Shots. The shots were yummy! We had a 6:30pm dinner reservation on a Tuesday evening. There's a parking lot in the rear with allocated spots. There's also street parking nearby. The restaurant was lively and busy. They have a full bar, high top tables, communal booth seating along one wall, and a section with tables for groups. It's not a huge place, so I recommend making reservations, especially for larger groups. The interior is styled after a casual European pub, but with rustic and elegant touches like fuchsia bougainvillea flowers, hanging industrial lights, antique chandeliers, distressed wood, etc. It's the ideal spot for date nights and celebrations. The tables are close together, so it does feel a bit crowded and the noise level can get high. The menu offers classic favorites from both European and American cuisines. The European dishes mainly consist of Italian, Greek, and Mediterranean flavors. I was surprised to see they have a full sushi menu! The drink menu is extensive - cocktails, wines, beer, hard liquor, you name it! Just a heads up - the prices listed on the menu are cash prices. Card pricing is available on their website. Mark was our server and I could tell that he enjoys his job! He had a fun personality and was attentive & welcoming from start to finish. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations on what to order. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves. The other staff members were quick with clearing our dishes and refilling waters. Not once did we feel rushed. 5 star service from Mark! We received complimentary bread and marinara dip to start, which we weren't too crazy about. The bread would've been better if it was served warm and had more seasoning on top. The marinara was watery and a bit bland. We ordered... *Porn Star Martini $16 (Weber Ranch vodka, passion fruit, lime, vanilla, sparkling rose) - My new favorite cocktail ;) It was the right balance of tropical, tart, and sweet. The sweetness was very subtle and the passion fruit flavor really shone through. The sparkling wine added a bubbly, crisp finish with every sip. I could definitely taste the alcohol... and I felt it running through my veins too LOL. *Pear Flatbread $18 (brie, caramelized pears, crumbled bacon, arugula, balsamic drizzle) - Highly recommend this appetizer! The bread is very thin and crispy, so it won't fill you up too much before your main course. Every bite was cheesy goodness combined with sweet & salty flavors from the pears and crunchy bacon bits. *Charred Hanger Steak $35 (with side of roasted mashed potatoes, wilted spinach, & chimichurri sauce) - Absolutely delicious! I requested my steak to be done medium and the chef delivered. It had a pink center with a rich, beefy flavor. It was tender, juicy, and paired well with the fresh, tangy, & herbal flavors of the chimichurri sauce. The mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. I only wish I got a larger portion of steak LOL. *French Chicken Breast $28 (topped with asparagus, manchego, almonds, pink peppercorns, capers, & potatoes) - The chicken was tender, but lacked moisture. It was a bit dry, but still enjoyable enough to eat. *Espresso Martini Shot $5 (Ketel One Vodka, espresso, Caffe Borghetti) - Coffee + alcohol.... a winner!!! The espresso and the vodka were nicely balanced. This was the perfect dessert drink - smooth, bold, nutty, & sweet. I would happily return. Good food, good drinks, good service, good ambiance... I'm already hyped for my second visit!

If you get her as your server, it's a start to a pleasant and great meal. Angelina knows what she's talking about! One feedback would be to learn how to better time the serving of the foods. We got our soup and shrimp cocktail as starters but literally 3 minutes later, our entrees were served to the table. Our entrees got cold while we tried to finish our starters. Please look to have the servers better time the serving of entrees AFTER the starters are finished. I had the New England Clam Chowder and the Prime rib. The clam chowder was tasty but lacked clams. They added andouille sausage to the chowder to give it a nice tasty twist but this should not have taken away from the amount of clams expected in a clam chowder. Prime rib was a good thick cut. But served warm and almost at room temperature. Not exactly how I would like my prime rib. Shoe string fries were tasty. My boyfriend ordered the Clam Chowder and Shrimp Cocktail as starters, followed by Cajun Sea Pasta and a bunch of side dishes - southern Coke slaw, black beans and rice and the loaded baked potato. Shrimps in the shrimp cocktail was good sized shrimp topped with old bay seasoning. The pasta was seasoned just right, very tasty and delicious. Cole slaw was crunchy which meant the Cole slaw was freshly made and not sitting in the sauce for too long. Loaded baked potato was of good size and baked to the right softness. Black beans and rice was the only side dish that was a bit too salty but went great when mixed with the baked potato. The chicken tacos with rice and beans on the side were phenomenal! The Cesar salad was good but we did get served some browned romaine which i noticed half way through and couldn't finish eating it. I had the salmon and it has a fishy taste, it was also very small looked like 4-5oz. Although I asked for it well done, I did not expect it to be BURNT it was literally black like charred on the whole bottom and top. The wild rice/orzo chilled salad really lacked flavor and was quite the conundrum, I think this side should be improved or changed out completely. The roasted chicken with mashed potato's was excellent. Our server was very absent minded, although she circled and passed by she NEVER once stopped and checked in after serving the food to ask "how is everything?" so we didn't even get a chance to tell her about the burnt lasagna but fortunately the food runner and a different server did pass by us and checked on us ecause they saw us with our necks out looking for our server who had actually passed by us but didn't even look at us...I found it strange that for such a fine establishment the server had not been drained to check on the table 2-5 minutes after each course is served. We had a 3 course meal. A salad to start, followed by the chicken tacos and Nonna lasagna as a second appetizer, then our main dishes. Not once did she check on us after the food was served. I will return in a few months to see if there has been any improvement. The manager did take the lasagna off the bill after the busser brought the plate back. However the waitress never came or made any comments about it. She truly lacked hospitality, personality, and attention To details. I don't remember her name i don't think she Even provided it... the dessert menu also could be better being that there are other restaurants in the area with better dessert options. I think this place needs something good that makes it unique... maybe a story to tell by the server for first times guest or any suggestions etc.
