I am a NYer at heart so I rate bagels pretty harshly. No place measures up lol! They do a decent job! My wife and I have come here a few times for breakfast, and its pretty good. Not super amazing, but very very good and solid food. We usually stick to the THEC, Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese. Its always cooked well, and you can get it on any bagel. I usually get mine a little bit more well done, and they hit the mark nicely. The bagels are pretty good, nice and soft, with some chew and a nice outside. They also have pretty good spreads! I got some strawberry CC on a croissant once and it was pretty good! The place looks like they are remodeling in sections, or when one spot becomes to outdated, and they renovate that. It is fine at the end of the day, but doesn't "flow" if you know what I mean. The biggest + is they have a parking lot! Staff is friendly. When they get a little backed up, they slow down to a crawl... All in all a nice bagel store, great variety in bagels and CC. A nice selection of sandwiches as well! I came here starving after a 6 am flight and was so happy that they were not super busy and my order was prepared quickly. I got an everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. The place is clean, busy and the food is good so you know they have a good reputation they do have a private parking lot and I was lucky enough to get a spot but they are so busy that the parking lot gets full very quickly. I decided to go with the bacon egg and cheese on a poppy seed bagel and the only thing they missed was the mayo. I did ask for a small coffee and instead got a large coffee but hey I can use the extra caffeine so no biggie and it won't stop me from going back. However I came on a Saturday morning and a younger kid was behind the counter fumbling around. I asked for my bagel and a coffee with cream and sugar! I have been buying bagels from Sunrise since they opened their first store in Nutley 15 years ago. The bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is no other place in NJ that makes the same bagel. They offer every flavor bagel to choose from with some unique flavors I have only seen at Sunrise. The cinnamon crunch bagel and the french toast bagel and wonderful. I love the pumpernickel with cream cheese. Sunrise is the only place I know where you can get a whole wheat everything bagel. What makes these bagels even better is when you order a taylor ham, egg and cheese on one of them. There coffee is good and all different flavors are available. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. They are open everyday of the year and holiday breakfast/brunch wouldn't be the same with out Sunrise Bagels.
