No matter where I sit there is an employee that slams the chairs down next to me. The whole place could be completely empty and they come right next to people and slam chairs down right by a person. Today they the table with four people closed off. The worker comes next to me and slams down the chair to right and left, hitting into my chair. They only clean where people are sitting. I've given this place multiple tries. They are way too big to provide the quality and customer service necessary for their customers. Some places can handle the volume of a bagel store AND countertop full lunch menu like Wonder Bagels (multiple locations in Hudson County)... NOT Nutley Bagel Boy II. So decided to try them today, was so busy meetings and study's; didn't have time to cook. So I got a BEC (bacon egg and cheese) samich with a hash brown and some slices of tomatoes on a roll. And an iced coffee to wash it down. The bread was nice and soft. And the sandwich was overall great, only drawback was that there wasn't enough bacon to go with every bite. I very much enjoy Bagel Boy II in Nutley. I get cravings for it! Their bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They have so many varieties and all are delicious as well as their cream cheeses, chicken & tuna salads and other toppings. The bagels aren't the only star of the show. Their menu is vast with salads, cold & hot subs, Reubens, eggs, bacon, taylor ham... the list goes on. Some of my faves are a toasted everything, egg bagel with veggie cream cheese, the Farmer's omelette which comes with home fries and the Reuben sandwich. Delicious. Bagel Boy can easily be my second favorite bagel store. I stopped in the other day and got a sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese. It was really great, toasted crunchy bagel on the outside and super warm and soft on the inside. The veggie cream was good too, pretty flavorful. I noticed it had a lot of carrots in it, which I don't mind but if you don't like carrots stay away. It wasn't too crowded when I stopped by but I can see this place getting full. Street parking is pretty easy. The workers were friendly enough. They have a nice variety of muffins and sweets too. Their cream cheeses really stand out. Then they bring them down the road to sell (even though it's a bigger location). Anyway - great bagels. Plump, doughy and traditional. We're Floridians who visit family in NJ frequently but I just discovered Bagel Boy today and I'm obsessed! Nice, big open place with plenty of seating and a big menu! We got there around 10am and they were out of quite a few bagel types but none really impacted our orders. We got 2 bacon egg & cheese sandwiches on plain bagels, a cinnamon raisin bagel with lox spread, and a blueberry bagel as well as a mini rainbow bagel (mostly because it was so cute, I had to!) The sandwiches were huge and divine and definitely satisfied my NJ bagel craving. We waited about 5 minutes for our order and actually received an extra sandwich, which was great, because we ended up devouring that too! Plenty of metered street parking on Franklin Ave, though you might have to walk a few blocks if it's busy.
