This new spot popped up and I figured I would give it a try since I love empanadas! They have so many different flavors for the empanadas and tons of dessert to choose from I ordered chicken&cheese, beef, and ropa vieja&sweet plantains. Also a strawberry smoothie The crust of the empanada is not as crispy as I'd like but still good. It was giving puff pastry vibes. The filling on the hand, super tasty! Not dry and very well seasoned. My favorite was the chicken&cheese. I feel like that's such a staple empanada flavor The strawberry smoothie was refreshing and just what I was craving in the moment but I'm not sure if I would get it again. It kinda tasted like it also had banana in it. The employee didn't specify whether it had banana, like your typical strawberry banana smoothie so I was just expecting strawberry

Best empanadas in New Jersey. I also love their sandwiches, egg breakfast dishes and coffee.

After coming a bunch of times I had to up the review to a solid 4 stars. The staff is always friendly and they have my favorite croissants around. It definitely doesn't hurt that they are a short short walk from my place. Go and ENJOY!!!

This is a beautiful little hidden gem in North Arlington on a main avenue that definitely deserves a stop by. I visited today and enjoyed their Mangu breakfast platter, 2 empanadas (flavors vary both sweet and savory), and a cappuccino. They have indoor seating available and the service was excellent! I can't wait to visit again and try their long list of desserts and pastries. You can look into the kitchen from the front counter and it was super clean and organized (always an excellent sign)! The owners took time to speak with us and share their story as the business recently celebrated 1 year in service. I will be back soon.

I spotted a new place on Yelp and wanted to give them a try. Only I wasn't looking for their empanada, what I wanted to try was their pastries when I saw a few photos with guava as part of the name. But first, let me say that I ordered a latte and it was really deliciously flavored the coffee alone was worth the trip here. I staff is friendly, and helpful and they even gave me a Spanish lesson on the proper pronunciation of the pastry names. Being half Puerto Rican & Italian from the Bronx I was using my Nuyorican pronunciation which means only another New York Puerto Rican would know what I was talking about. Well, I did get a mix of some pastries with guava and some also had cream cheese. A Guava Tart that was the size of a small pie, and a caramel-style Napoleon called Mil Hojas. They had bite-size options too, and non-guava pastries and fruit tarts also. Were they the best I ever had, nope, but they were really good and fresh. Considering this place is a restaurant for breakfast, and lunch, that serves a mix of empanadas with baked goods, and a cafe all rolled into one. I would say the pastries were pretty great here.

A local empanada / bakery just popped up in my small town. I've been seeing posts on social media about it and had to finally make my way over. Parking is street parking. It's on a main road but on the corner of a side street, so both times I've been there, parking was very easy. Inside was very clean and all products were clearly displayed in glass cases. A very wide variety of Empanadas were there from your traditional beef or chicken to guava if you're feeling adventurous. I went with the Buffalo Chicken, Columbiana, Sausage and Cheese and beef. As I was getting ready to pay, I noticed a 4 Leche cake and had to try it being that my wife loves tres leches. The two women in there were great. Very helpful as the second time I went, I got a bunch for the Superbowl and they mapped out exactly how to heat them up. They will also heat them up if you're planning on eating them right away.

I've been back to Empabake a few times now and it keeps getting better. They've added more breads, pastries, cookies and empanadas. Everyone who walks in the door is greatest warmly and served with similes. This is a great place for good food and a fun vibe.

I've been waiting patiently for this place to open! Happy to say the empanadas are great! Not a typical empanada I've had but they're delicious the pastry is light and flaky which was a pleasant surprise! I tried the ropa vieja & plantain, colombiano, and the chicken empanadas! They were all great! My new go to spot

As a young kid from Louisiana, one of the first things I missed was the culture, flavor, and sweet treats that reminded me of home in New Orleans. Back then, my teammates used to tease me relentlessly about being the "fat rookie from Louisiana" because I was always chasing pralines, cookies, pastries, and every sugary delight imaginable. Not long after arriving, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that instantly made me feel at home -- Lyndhurst Pastry Shop. This led me to "SACKING" tons of NFC QB's over the years. From day one, Paulette, Jerry, her father, and the entire staff have treated me like family. Decades later, they are still absolutely knocking it out of the park. Whether it's their incredible Italian ice, authentic cannoli, specialty cookies, or my personal weakness -- their unbelievable apple rings -- this place never disappoints. Truth be told, I can't stop there without bringing one home for my wife. Some places serve food. Others serve memories, tradition, and comfort. Lyndhurst Pastry Shop has done that for me for over 40 years. A true North Jersey institution. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Leonard A. I ordered the Christmas Honey balls ($19.95) and the Fudge Layer Cake ($29.50) and while I disagree with the credit card fee being passed to the consumer, the quality of the product exceeds that cost. Inside the venue is a true classic bakery atmosphere and while there is usually a line, the service is brisk and moves fairly quickly. If you want to impress your holiday season guests, family or friends, the LPS is the right venue for traditional Italian baked goods and desserts! As i return to NJ for the holidays, I will make at least three or four stops at LPS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Subsequent visits... actually I'm a big fan. From red velvet cookies to Sfogliatella to carrot cake - they have more than enough treats to quell your sweet tooth. The breads (the reason I find myself here most times) - incredible. A bit more rare to find but the only proper 'pane' if/when you're going to make an Italian hot dog. They also have a side/section with a full deli if savory is more your speed. Cool staff. Good pricing. Metered street parking but be warned... this one specific street feels more like a strip mall - with probably a dozen businesses (liquor stores to salons to fitness centers to a few restaurants to...) - all vying for those spots. I went here last year around Thanksgiving as I have been a big fan of this bakery for many years. I actually drive almost 30 minutes for treats to bring my family for the holidays. It was busy when I went in and a I waited in line for my turn. Once the man in front of me ordered, and the young blonde girl behind the counter called next, I went to place my order and the man in front of me mistakenly thought he could have her do the rest of his order. I still tried to get her attention, but she refused to even look at me. Here I will note that I look very different from the other patrons in the bakery at the time... take that for what it's worth. The other workers saw this happening, and didnt acknowledge how I was being ignored by this girl. The middle aged woman who works there, who I have bought from for years, then went to help the person after me... what kind of service is that? The crazy thing is the man in front of me even apologized for what he did because he was confused by what was going on, and the middle aged women STILL DID NOT HELP ME. I always thought she was a manager or owner... perhaps she doesn't like people with my skin color. Who knows. Finally, after an upsetting amount of time where I was feeling humiliated, a brown haired girl (with absolutely great eye makeup said she would help me). Good to know one decent person works there. I used to go there regularly when I worked in the area and stopped going as often, but I will never go again and have stopped recommending it to others. For the area, there are plenty of bakeries without people like this blonde girl, who would love to have a diverse group clientele who doesn't look just like them :) Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like a second class citizen. The way I was treated was disgusting and shameful.
