Rolberto's is hands down my favorite, quick, cheap and delicious Mexican food in Elko and Spring Creek. Did I mention the Elko Location is open 24 hrs!? Nestled in the Elko Junction shopping center, Roberto's is quite arguably some of the best Mexican food in Elko. The Meats for the tacos are tender, yet crispy on the edges where they cooked it on the grill. The portions are beyond generous! The tacos are huge, the burritos are big and the carne Asada fries are enough for two! Some of the tacos automatically come with Guacamole and Pico. But If that's not your thing, tell them cilantro and onion only and they'll make it the street taco way. I love the Mexican sodas and Horchata and the shrimp cocktail is amazing with chips! The service is always friendly for me and they always recognize me when I come in for door dashes orders as well. I love that they're on door dash, it makes my late night cravings so much more accessible! Sometimes the wait can be lengthy but I promise it's worth it. Inside is always clean and well kept, however the salsa bar isn't always completely full. But it's never empty either so that counts for something. Never good service. Food is never what you order exactly. constantly having to throw out your money or travel all the way back to have them remake it. For this type of service just go to Taco Bell where you know you aren't going to like it. At least the burritos there aren't $12. The building is gross most of the time and loud. read more

We were looking for some breakfast burritos and decided to order them as takeout from here! My husband and I both got bacon breakfast burritos. We called ahead and they were ready in about 20 mins. I liked that they have a salsa bar inside, you can pick out which salsas you want and get them in small to-go cups. My husband is a big burrito fan, and he said these were pretty good but not the best. The burrito itself was large and packed full of ingredients. However, the potatoes were not cooked long enough; they were still a little hard instead of soft, which was something that was noticeable with each bite unfortunately. We wished the burritos had more egg and cheese inside as well. There was quite a bit of bacon and potatoes, which would've been a good thing if the potatoes were soft. The salsas were really good and definitely made the burritos even better. I think if the potatoes were cooked more and the ingredient ratios were adjusted a bit, this could easily be a solid 4-5 star burrito! read more

This place is a health code nightmare. Nevada health inspectors need to conduct an inspection ASAP! The employees aren't properly trained in preparation of food and cross contamination is common. The food got me physically sick on 3 separate occasions. Additionally, they recently had an issue with their grease traps which caused the restaurant to be shut down due to clogging. Was working in elko at a gold mine decide to come here after work. There's not a lot of Mexican places to eat out here. So decided to check it out. The menu is vast and you'll definitely find something you like here. I went with asada , tripas , adobada , and lengua tacos. For some reason only the Asada had guacamole on it. They do have a salsa bar filled with multiple salsa, lemons , and carrots. They do take longer than expected but everything is fresh. I don't recommend the tripas here , but I do recommend the rest ! Writing this review a few weeks later, and I'm still amazed by how delicious these tacos were... and in Elko of all places! Typically, I order 3 tacos at a taco shop. And depending on the size, I usually leave feeling just satisfied or slightly still hungry. After eating 2 tacos from Rolberto's, I was STUFFED. Each taco was overflowing with juicy pieces of meat. My favorite was the al pastor and fish taco. I appreciated how much carne asada they packed into the taco, but the steak was a little bland. I loved how the tacos had a green sauce (guacamole?) and pico de gallo already on it. I didn't even need any of the salsa I got from the salsa bar! These were some of the best tacos and I've had my fair share of tacos in the Bay Area and LA. Serious bonus points for the portion! read more

For a spot that's listed as open 24/7, I'd have expected average if not subpar tacos at best. Maybe it's because we didn't expect much that this place was so good...but I really don't think that's the case here. We. Loved. It. Stopped in to order tacos and got 6: carne asada. Abodaba, cabeza, lengua, fish and carnitas. Tacos were priced $3-$3.25 give or take based on the meat. While slightly higher priced than the average taco one might have readily available in say SoCal, the size of their tacos more than adequately makes it reasonable. Their tacos are tacos that have eaten another taco before hopping in the to go box. Huge!!! The winning meat for me was the cabeza. Perfectly tender/moist. The (very very close) runner ups were the fish, abodaba and carnitas tacos. Nowhere near a major source of water. Blasphemy? Maybe. But to me, the fish was right up there with some San Diego fish taco joints I've been fortunate enough to try. If you find yourself passing through (or visiting for some reason) Elko, give this joint a shot! read more

Long night drives require late night goodness late night goodness is something that you always need to fulfill your night adventures and they are making that perfect sustenance right here in many different ways! For me it was all about the hot Cheetos carne asada fries as that's something you just can't go wrong with as who doesn't love a pile of fries with a ton of cheese some super flavorful carne asada and sour cream I've had many variations of this over the years and this was definitely one of the best as the fries were perfect and their asada was just very yummy making for a delicious combo! The one order of carne asada fries was enough for two of us to eat it was a big portion that was perfect to share as by the end we were totally full and ready to drive on! This location is in a strip mall at the far edge so don't overlook the whole area when you venture in because I can tell you that they are doing it right here! Overall yummy hot Cheetos asada fries and a friendly staff that's cooking up delicious late night goodies that you can't go wrong with. Who knows if I'll ever make it back here again but you so know that I will find this type of goodness again somewhere! read more

No way!! The food is mediocre and they nickel and dime you for everything. I asked for only cilantro on my tacos and they charged me $2.00 for that. I thought cilantro was standard on tacos??? Definitely not worth the $$$ for blah food . By the way you want meat on your food, there's a charge for that too. I wish there was a 0 star option. I read some of the other reviews on the poor service and poor attitude but figured I would give it a try anyway after a long travel day. Walked in and after a quick review of their menu board was ready to place our order. Walked to the counter to have another customer step in front of us and start chit chatting with their cashier. It was clear they knew each other and she asked him if he was ready to order to which he replied no, I already placed my order. She continued to chat with him until his food was ready, gave it to him and then walked away from the counter. Strikes 1, 2 & 3 but we still waited and tried to order based on the reviews about their food. Finally got the cashier's attention and started to place our order - an order that was going to be well over $100 since we were ordering for several people. Ordered the first item and her reply was "that's it?" Like she wanted to ring up the single item. Added a second item with the same response. Asked if there was an option on the meat for those two items and got a very snide reply that there wasn't any choices, they came how they came. Turned around and walked out. My husband wanted me to try this place. I didn't really want Mexican food, but he was buying, which is unusual, so I went along. OMG! I had a breakfast burrito that was so big it took me 2 days to eat it all, and it was fantastic both days! The green sauce is to die for, and I'm not really into salsa...I finished two containers of it on my burrito and will be asking if they sell it by the bottle! SLOW! SLOW! SLOW! Went in on a Tuesday just before 4pm. Two people in front of me waiting to order, about 4 tables occupied. Waited about 7 minutes before being able to place my order. Ordered at 3:58pm and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited until 4:27pm when it was finally done. I told the person who gave me my order that waiting this long for one burrito, chips, and a quesadilla is not acceptable. She didn't care and had a bit of an attitude. I've been to other Rolberto's locations and the service is much faster. I can get my meal within 5-7 minutes. This experience will make me never go there again and I will be writing a letter to the owners of the franchise. read more

Food is a 4 star, service is a zero. I've been here multiple times, every time employees are sitting around while the tables are all disgusting. Even 1 instance early in the morning where it was clear the dirty tables were from the prior day. I've also tried to order ahead and it's clear the employees ignore the phone.
