Nestled in the Elko Junction shopping center, Roberto's is quite arguably some of the best Mexican food in Elko. The Meats for the tacos are tender, yet crispy on the edges where they cooked it on the grill. The portions are beyond generous! The tacos are huge, the burritos are big and the carne Asada fries are enough for two! Some of the tacos automatically come with Guacamole and Pico. But If that's not your thing, tell them cilantro and onion only and they'll make it the street taco way. I love the Mexican sodas and Horchata and the shrimp cocktail is amazing with chips! The service is always friendly for me and they always recognize me when I come in for door dashes orders as well. I love that they're on door dash, it makes my late night cravings so much more accessible! Sometimes the wait can be lengthy but I promise it's worth it. Inside is always clean and well kept, however the salsa bar isn't always completely full. But it's never empty either so that counts for something. I will always be a fan of late night Rolbertos after a night of drinking or when the late night munchies hit! ...I may order some on door dash right now.

May 2026 Elko, N…read more Hmmmmm . . . 3.0 stars. Here is why. Arrived a little after 5 pm on a Friday. Two tables were already sitting. The hostess sat us in a separate room from the main dining room. It was hit brightly by the sun and felt like a second thought of leftover dining. Asked if we could sit in main dining room and she obliged. We asked about the menu and took time to review it. After some time we ordered. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered the PASTA MILANO which is described as: Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce over Penne Pasta. Sounds good right? It could have been good. But it was not. First of all, I never got chicken in the dish. The mushrooms were diced and very few in the dish. The only thing they got right was the tomatoes. I called the waitress over and told her that my dish had no chicken in it. She said well do you want some? I smiled and said well that's what the dish was supposed to come with. So I waited. Then I decided to go ahead and start eating my food because seven minutes went by and I still have no chicken. When the dish was originally served,, I asked the waitress for Parmesan cheese. She said we don't have Parmesan cheese, but we have black pepper. Huh???? of course you have Parmesan cheese. I have it on my Caesar salad. I really don't think she knew what Parmesan cheese was. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my food. Again, great concept. But the food had NO flavor. I added salt and pepper. Still nothing. I took the balsamic vinegar that was on the table and added it to the dish. There, I finally had flavor in my meal. But still no chicken. Finally, another waitress brings out a plate of squiggly worm like meat. She said, did somebody order chicken at this table? I was disgusted. First of all, it was not pleasant to see it look like that. Also, you should've offered to remake my meal, or at least take it back and mix it with the chicken. But to make me wait until my dishes is half gone and then bring over a plate of chicken is a poor decision. The chicken fettuccine had a good flavor. But the chicken was tough. Hard to chew. Not good flavor. I ordered a n/a Heineken. She brought it in a glass to the table. It was already poured so I don't know if I truly got what I ordered. Also the glass was too large for the amount of beer that was in it. Makes it look like it was half a drink. The waitress was kind, but we did not see much of her. She never offered to refill our bread basket. According to the menu, you get two baskets of bread and then if you want more you have to pay. We only got one basket of bread and never offered anymore. I was looking forward to some good pasta, and this restaurant did not deliver. Very disappointed in the service, and most definitely the food. The waitress took five dollars off of our meal, but she never explained why she did it or why she decided to take that amount of money. She never apologized for my dish, not having any protein, she never apologized for any thing. Management needs to teach staff that they can take ownership of the situation. It is OK to say you are sorry that the chicken was not put in your dish. Let's see what we can do to make it right. That would have gone so far. Instead, it left my attitude about this place as tough as the chicken in the fettuccine was.

I ordered the White Sunrise burrito with regular eggs (not egg whites), and added beans. It was a very light and delicious breakfast burrito, not heavy and greasy like I was worried about. I appreciate that it came cut in half like a wrap, and the house-made salsas topped it off perfectly. The green salsa (not sure if it had a name) was so flavorful and was my favorite, although I enjoyed them all. I also had to order myself a Michelada made with their house mix, which was a 10/10 for me. My mouth is watering just remembering it! As great as the food was, the service left much to be desired. It didn't seem particularly busy, and it was hard not to notice that another party our size was seated, ordered, received their food, ate, paid and left, and a whole new party was sat before we even received our food. Once the food came, we scarfed it down (it was really, very good!), and it took a while to request our bill as I couldn't catch anyone's attention. It was probably close to 90 minutes in total from being sat to leaving the restaurant. Our party was not in a hurry, but next time we may choose to order for pick-up in hopes it would be a bit faster.
