Local person recommended this place to us, so we checked it out. Started with beers and chips and salsa before our sizzling shrimp fajita and a chicken fajita meals arrived to the table. Quick, personable service. I asked about all the birthday photos on numerous walls in the place... gone are the days of Polaroid instant processing photos do this activity has ended. read more

Ordered the carne asada and cadillac margarita. Both were very delicious and you definitely get your moneys worth! The staff is friendly and the energy is fun. As expected, wait times can be higher depending on how busy it is, which is likely often due to being a solid food establishment. Be patient, it's worth the wait! read more

This food was delicious! We all walked away stuffed and satisfied. Our server was great. (He seemed to be serving the whole restaurant!) The atmosphere was very family friendly, the tables were a little tight but it just drove home the down-to-earth vibe. We'll definitely be back! read more

Great atmosphere and food! Service was top shelf to include owner services and checked on tables assuring all was right.

Good food. Great service. Our chimichangas were crispy and filled will plenty of shredded beef. No disappointments with our meals. I plan to visit again. read more

I should start out saying, I'm usually not the type of person to leave a review of any type unless I feel it is absolutely warranted. It is in this case. The Thursday before Memorial Day weekend, my significant other and I ate at this establishment. We were greeted by a seating hostess with an attitude in overdrive. The server was actually good and the food was decent. When the check came, I paid but then recounted my cash change to ensure it was correct. This agitated the seating hostess for some reason. I gave the cash tip directly to the server not to her to give to him. This again, agitated the seating hostess for some other reason. I accidentally left my expensive prescription sunglasses on the counter where I recounted my change. I went back the next day, but they were closed and I had to be somewhere for the holiday weekend. I returned the following Wednesday to retrieve my sunglasses. I asked the attitude ladened seating hostess if she could look in their lost and found for my sunglasses. She said it was two weeks or so ago, and they wouldn't have them since they throw items they find out immediately. I reminded her it was only four- or five-days prior, and most establishments keep items a week or two after finding them so they can be possibly reclaimed by the owner, if not longer. I asked if she could talk to her manager to see if any sunglasses were found as I waited. She said she would but did not...this tells me she already knew what had happened to my sunglasses. She could not maintain eye contact while discussing the matter...avoidance from the truth. She made up different timeline to obscure the facts. I do not know if she had a hand in the tossing of my sunglasses or not, but Karma is watching and whoever did, may they get everything out of life karma has to give them. Customer treatment and honesty is non-existent with this establishment. Take care all. read more

We ordered the Mickey Mouse plate and the pollo asado--both were fabulous. The restaurant was full, yet our server Willy went above and beyond. Every time I come in to eat, I request him as our server. Exceptional service and great food every visit. read more

Service was great Food was excellent We rarely eat out, but we happened to be nearby as we were going to the movie theater down the street What a beautiful surprise this was We will definitely come back read more

Quesadilla was uncooked as the cheese was not melted at all! Waiter dropped off the food and never returned to see how we were doing. You guys in Elko don't have any idea of what good Mexican food is supposed to be! Crazy that this place was fairly busy. Taco Bell is fine dining compared to this garbage! read more

A great lunch place with some different Mexican food comparing to Chicago. One of nice things is that they have jamaica drink. But limited choices of taco meat. I went for the fish platter while some of coworker went for typical taco platter and one of them went for bacon wrapped shrimp which was pretty interesting/more Spanish? My food was served in a big plate with soft tortillas in the side. The fish was not chopped, not breaded and fried, not grilled. It was two fillet and deep fried in whole. The edge was crispy more like a fish chip. It was different than what I had in mind but nonetheless very good. Services were warm and quite promptly. read more

Decided to give La Fiesta a try. Had been here years ago but after finding Garibaldis, we rarely go anywhere else. Now we know why. My wife got a taco salad and it was disappointing. The tortilla was stale and soggy and not much flavor. My carne asada was very good but the rest of the meal was flavorless. Our chips were stale and soggy, no flavor to the salsa, cabbage was bland. Probably won't ever go back and will stick with Garibaldis. read more

In town for work and I came here as a recommendation from someone local. We came early at 10 minutes till five. By 5 o'clock this place was already 90% full. We opened the menu and we were absolutely shocked at the prices. So incredibly inexpensive. Could we possibly be getting that gargantuas plate of food for this low price? My husband ordered a peach margarita for $4.50. We both ordered the chimichanga and enchilada plate. You get your choice of chicken, shredded beef, or steak. There is no up charge for ordering one over the other. It was just a flat $11.25. Sidenote here, when the bill came the meal was priced at $12. I have no problem that the dish with $.75 more than it was listed on the menu. However, I think this was brought up in another review about the price difference. Perhaps they should update their menu to reflect the difference in price. The food was delicious. The chicken chimichanga was nothing but chicken. But the flavor and the amount of chicken blew me away. It was topped with cheese and tomato. It also had a large amount of sour cream and homemade guacamole. The guacamole was a party in my mouth. I had the shredded beef enchilada and my husband had the steak. Both had great flavor. There was so much food we could not even finish it. Before the meal began they bring you corn chips and salsa with a side of cabbage relish. The salsa was not spicy but had great flavor. We did not try the cabbage relish that was brought to the table. Williams was our server and he seem to know everyone that walked through the restaurant. He was attentive, quick, and kind. The restaurant which is situated in downtown Elko, is definitely a place you want to check out. With so many Mexican restaurants in town I would be sure to make this your first stop. read more

La Fiesta never disappoints! We have loved this place since they opened over 23 years ago. (I only remember this row frame because it was my favorite place to eat when I was pregnant with my now 23 year old!) While the staff is always amazing, Willie is definitely our favorite! He always has a smile and knows how to treat the customers. But what difference is a good staff if the food isn't good? And the food here? Good doesn't describe it adequately! It's exceptional! I'm a creature of habit, but when I stray from my normal choices, I'm still pleased! Tonight was a shrimp a la diabla night for me and a #17 two-chimichanga meal for the hubs. This is one place I won't share a meal, because the leftovers will be devoured tomorrow. Pros: everything about this place keeps me coming back! Cons: There honestly aren't any. read more

The service is great, everyone is so friendly! Food is amazing, I am especially fond of the Steak and Lobster (beans on the side of course). It is prepared in with their top secret butter sauce! Camarongos are prepared the same way, I also highly recommend, if you're looking for something less filling or an appetizer! read more

Local favorite! Great service, cool atmosphere, amazing food and the Chips and Salsa are so dang good! Many rave over the Margaritas!

Burrito was made great, green sauce was bland and no spice at all. The Spanish rice needs more flavor as well. My wife loved her cheese enchiladas but again the red sauce was the same as the green sauce. No spice, no heat, no kick! My wife ordered a sopapilla and she was given fried tortillas with whip cream and strawberry sauce or something. Maybe that was a misunderstanding. If sauces had heat definitely a 5 rating. I couldn't even finish my burrito because it was so bland. read more

We came here for flan. The other Mexican restaurant we ate at did not have flan either. Maybe it's not a thing in Elko. We stated margaritas and maybe dessert. We were seated and promptly provided chips/salsa and then ordered a big top shelf margarita. Our server, Willie, was our tequila educator introducing us to Don Julio 70 (a generous taste), Campo Azul Select and Centinela. We couldn't imagine better service. They also have a nice bar and they are located in a peaceful and historic part of Elko. We would definitely go back and hope that Willie is still there. read more

My whole review is based on the hostess putting a tip on my bill (to go) hiding that she did that and then had me sign (my bad, I almost asked her to show me the previous screen). When I asked her about it, there was no apology just, yes 12%. That was it. I was going to give her a $10, twice the tip, too. They had homeless people in the lobby, they were being nice to help them, but I have three little kids and I was pretty uncomfortable. My husband has been here before as he drove through town and thought it was okay which is why we came back. A little bummed. Safety and not being ripped off are a couple of my priorities. read more

We were in Elko, NV for the night and was craving some Mexican and Margaritas. We were so happy to stumble upon this place. Expect a little wait we got there at 6:30pm on a Saturday and there was a 15 minute wait. Luckily, we ordered margaritas while we waited, so the time went by fast. The entire staff was very friendly and never stopped moving. Our server Sergio was very helpful answering our questions about the menu and was very attentive during our meal. The atmosphere is very family friendly. The walls are covered with Polaroids of past guests wearing a sombrero and blowing out their birthday candle. In the bar area people write messages on money from all over the world and tape it to the wall. We had a great time here. The food was good not the greatest, but satisfys your Mexican food craving. read more

2/8/22 RACIST!!! I walked in and this was my first time at this place. The young lady took my order right when I walked in and I asked if I could sit down in the eating area and she said No you sit out here! Four of us visited for lunch mid-week. We were seated right away and took a while to review the extensive menu. I finally chose chicken fajitas with salad and French fries (instead of beans and rice.) The chicken seasoning was delicious and, amazingly, the chicken was not overcooked. What a breath of fresh air. I'll definitely order this dish again. Family ordered burrito picadillo (like a giant enchilada, yum) and a big quesadilla for the kids to share. Staff helpful and gracious. read more

Great food with large portions and very good service. It is a very family friendly place and doesn't break the bank

Grrrr. I REALLY wanted to like this place. If you are from elko, you know that there's only a handful of good restaurants to visit. I was really hoping this restaurant would be on the list of good restaurants. Our first red flag should have been the fact that we waited 15 min to be seated or even acknowledged! So by the time we sat down, we were already annoyed. Our server took our drink order. After he dropped our drinks off, he disappeared for another 20 minutes. At this point we were confused?....Are they going out of business? Was the waiter on his lunch break? How could it take this long to grab lunch? After our server finally reappeared he took our order. We ordered: Chicken fajitas: These were awful :(. We were given about 1/2 of a sliced chicken breast that was basted in a tomato paste? The onions and peppers were so undercooked, that they made a loud crunching sound and tasted raw. The tortillas were rubbery and over microwaved. Overall, we were not impressed. Large Nacho: It's very hard to mess up nachos, but somehow they succeeded. The chips were greasy, the cheese was sparse and the beans were unseasoned. We ordered an extra side of sour cream (since they do skimp on the sour cream). Our meal came to a total of 38$. Considering we got one entree, an appetizer and a side of sour cream: 38$ was outrageous! Terrible service, subpar food and insanely high prices. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will probably not be back. Fin' read more

It's good. If you don't know what a dish is, ask. If you don't you might miss out. I ordered a #21 today, cheese enchilada and beef chimichanga. Nom. Stuff full of juicy beef topped with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and sauce. Next to it a smothered cheese enchilada with saucy beans and rice. I couldn't eat all of it! What ever my husband Billy had must have been good too. He didn't complain, and he likes to complain. The service is good, the place is friendly and welcoming. read more

Where do we start? The large margaritas were good! Not watered down like most. The chicken asado's seasoning was delicious and the whole beans the same - seasoned perfectly, not bland like the usual whole pinto beans are. I wanted a chili colorado tostada which wasn't on the menu and they made it for me - without skipping a beat. The menu is very extensive and this is clearly a place where the locals frequent, probably because the food tastes authentic! Everyone was practicing social distancing and staff were wearing masks. read more

My hubby and I were traveling through, stopping in Elko overnight. Our motel person recommended them and it was exactly what we needed. California is sooooo locked down, and nothing is open, it was such a nice relief to go out for dinner, our first time in a year!! It is a casual, friendly place. We had a great time. read more

Have now been here 3 times in last 2 months. In town for work. Co worker and I can't believe how great the food is here. Huge servings of very authentic Mexican food. Big menu filled with a large variety. We haven't had a bad meal yet. Will come back when in town. Very reasonable at $10-$12 a plate. Seems to always be busy and we know why. Fresh items served with salsa and chips. You have to try this place. Great service. read more

The food is typical of good mexican food, which can be at times hard to find...however, there are better places to eat in Elko. The service was found in a state of extreme want. Our party of six was seated against the wall, and we had to wait in excess of 15 minutes before our drink order was placed. It wasn't until 10 minutes later that our drinks arrived. Just before the waiter disappeared, we were able to request glasses of water, AND the salsa and chip entree (note-to-self: both of which are served without request in finer mexican food establishments.) Eventually we placed our orders. While we waited our glasses were not refilled once, and our waiters never returned until our food was served (40 minutes after we initially arrived). We had to request more chips and salsa, which seemed to annoy the unconcerned waiter who seemed to be more enamored with the other customers, who happened to be hispanic (note-to-self: finer establishments will replenish both drinks, chips and salsa without request). Alas, the food was served and was decent. However, the service was not. Our party is not hispanic, and we considered the possibility for the poor service may have been due to this circumstance. However, years prior I have enjoyed supporting this establishment as both food and service were exceptional. However, of late (March 2012) this place has gone downhill and if this state is to remain unchanged neither my federal reserve notes, or I will be revisiting La Fiesta. ...especially when Nine Beans and a Burrito serves just as good a meal, with awesome service and a pleasant smile. Adios La Fiesta. read more
