I order from Tacos Las Brisas on a pretty regular basis. Today there was a little mistake, part of it was probably my error (the salsa on the side - it was how Door Dash has options) but they took care of it with no problem. It literally breaks my heart to write a, less than exemplary, review for a Taco Truck. Seeing as how food trucks are my dream, my goal and my passion in life. I seek out trucks. I love finding super good trucks with amazing food that you have to track down to eat at. It makes it feel more special when I catch them and get to eat there. That's why I've tried Las Brisas a few times now, in order to give them a chance and see if I could find an item I liked. Unfortunately I was unable. The tacos aren't anything to write home about. The meat wasn't that good. They don't come with the things you usually get like grilled onions and grilled jalapeños on the plate, or salsas or lime!? What I didn't know is you have to ask them for it as an extra, so the next time I asked for it. It didn't help. They're just not that good. Then I decided to try a "California burrito" seeing as how there were other reviews on it being good. So disappointed. First, what makes it a California burrito? There's no French fries? I guess I just don't know what really makes it "California." Plus it was actually pretty small. When someone says California burrito I imagine a huge meat, fry and guac filled beauty. Oh dear... ok let's start with the positives: meats were flavorful and there is ample free parking. But that's about where it stops unfortunately. Burritos are super affordable, but they were basically deflated and very unevenly spaced in terms of their fillings. Maybe it was an off day for them. What was even more worrisome was that the staff were wearing their masks under their noses. My husband went to go get 16 breakfast burritos and take them out to the rig crews that work for him but this place was no where to be found. It was between 9-930 am. He even gave them a call and got no answer. So I highly recommend call before you drive to an empty location. read more

This review is for one thing and one thing only. The California Burrito with Carnitas. That burrito was spicy, flavorful, not bogged down and heavy and just perfection in a little hand held edible container. I am tempted to never eat a burrito again...it was perfection. Most obviously the best burrito I have ever eaten or done anything else to for that matter. The wait was a bit slow...so don't go here thinking it's gonna be speedy. The menu is small so don't consider this a place that will satisfy a wide range of likes. The location seems to be pretty regular right now. Just across from BJ Bull. The prices seemed pretty reasonable. I think I got the most expensive thing...but it was worth every penny and every carb laden bite. So if you are driving through and want something to get and keep driving...this might just be the right choice. read more

I grabbed two carne asada tacos the other day I was in Elko and they were good. 4 stars for the lack of guac.

Three different visits, three completely different experiences. First, a mediocre burrito meal. Second, a completely exceptional drop it like it's hot run and snarf burrito meal. Third, threw it in the trash after 2 bites burrito meal. Then the issue of cleanliness. Two visits at lunch time and I never saw either of the workers wash their hands or the counter. Yeah...the taco truck. Authentic Mexican tacos with doubled soft corn tortillas. Never had a bad meal here and get a big smile from the proprietor whenever I show up.. I usually get the carnitas tacos with green salsa, the white queso cheese and onions. I;ve also had the carne asado and BBQ pork tacos. I like a grilled jalapeno on the side. The chorizo breakfast burrito is also a favorite...huge burrito to start the day loaded with chorizo, potatoes and eggs, If you are more adventurous, there are also shrimp, lengue (tongue)and tripa (tripe). Inexpensive, always a line here at lunchtime. They now have two locations. I usually go to the one near 3rd and Idaho on the west end of town. They also have another truck at the Sinclair station parking lot on Idaho at the west end of town. Also sell their homemade salsa by the container. read more
