Went here for the first time yesterday while making deliveries in the area. I'm out of Reno and so can't go as often as I might like, but from now on, whenever I am in Elko, I will be stopping by Ogi for a meal. The Sicilian sandwich was amazing; Sandra - the sandwich maker - is an artist. The owners, Carolyn (or Caroline?), and her husband were great, and everyone there is super-friendly. They want you to be satisfied with your meal, and that includes the food itself, the ambience, and the character of the employees. From my experience, all 10s. Come hungry. Leave happy. read more

I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve pintxos, but I quickly got over it when I sunk my teeth into the Jamón & Piquillo sandwich. Holy smokes, that bread is divine! Traveling through Elko for work and found this place based off if top ratings. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised by such a quality lunch spot in a small town in remote e Nevada. The food was fresh and quick to come out. The staff was friendly and even spoke to the owner for a few minutes. The jamón gazta sandwich was grilled perfectly and I enjoyed the light lemon orzo soup. We drove from Reno to stay overnight in Elko. Arrived early afternoon, so of course we wanted a quick lunch before going off exploring. What did we want? Fresh salad. Ogi Deli's got them! We ordered two different kind of salad bowl. Both are fresh, plentiful, flavorful, and satisfying. No wilted anything there! Also I dislike too much dressing on my salad, but it was on the light side, and was perfect. The decor is clean and lovely. Clean. Comfortable. Used Yelp to find a pit stop for lunch on our road trip. Pleasantly surprised! We got the trench dip, vegetable sandwich with pesto mozzarella tomato and spinach add chicken, and the Italian salad! Very fresh ingredients and super good! The location is just off the freeway near downtown easy on and off access. Also the online ordering feature saved us time! Cute spot for a date! It's been a year or so since I've visited Ogi Deli. The last time I was there I tried the avocado toast, so I wanted to go back and try a sandwich. Boy, I've been missing out! On this trip, I tried the Nevada tri-tip sandwich, and it comes with an aujus dip, with broccoli salad. The sandwich was super flavorful, and the Aujus was really good! The broccoli salad was super fresh, and I loved the contrast of the sweet dressing and cranberries with the smoky bacon. I saw a few other sandwiches on the menu I really want to try and will definitely be going back to get them. Including the basque chorizo sandwich, the one with the pork loin, the lamb grinder and the big Dagwood one! I love that they use basque ingredients, seeing as how Elko is so rich in basque history. The food here is truly delicious--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We were excited to try the Basque-inspired deli offerings and weren't disappointed in terms of taste. What did disappoint us was the lack of flexibility around a simple dietary request. We asked to have sandwich toppings served over greens instead of bread due to a gluten allergy, but were told it wasn't possible. This felt especially confusing since they do offer gluten-free pastries--so accommodating the same allergy for a savory option didn't seem like a stretch. It was a small ask that could have easily guaranteed return visits. Great food, but a bit more thoughtfulness around dietary needs would make a big difference. read more

Thank goodness for this free, large parking lot! Easy to find in between all of the casinos and small businesses. Order, get a number and find a seat. This place gets really crowded at lunch time. Menu is pretty extensive. Lots of combo options or just regular sandwiches or salads. Mushroom Marsala Soup - wow! Perfect saltiness and decadence. Tri Trip Nevada - the Monterey Jack cheese and garlic aioli are the best in every bite. Yum. Truly a huge fan of this meal in all of its entirety. Even better with Chulula hot sauce!! There's a space for your dirty trays in the back next to the cashiers to drop off after your meal. This helps clear the space for others when it's busy. read more

I got the Italian and the Greek with chicken added, both where good, I did take out but the interior looked nice for a small shop and the service was great. Because I did takeout started to get a bit soggy by the time I ate it at the park. That's not why I dropped a star, I did so because I think if the bread was toasted a bit more I would have liked it more. And for a grilled sando it is maybe a bit pricy. Overall great taste, eat quickly and over toast bread, especially if it is sourdough. Still recommend as a try for sure. read more

We popped on in after a long trip up from Sac. It wasn't very late, 7 PM-ish. They didn't have much other than their little open faced sandwiches for offer. They were pretty cheap, I think several dollars per, and we grabbed quite a few to sample. Which was fine, but it would have been nice to try their other stuff. They had some pretty cool local beers on tap and the waitress was super nice. It definitely has that deli feel so not necessarily overly fancy but a good solid spot to grab some food. Got the lamb grinder, which is basically their version of a French dip. Could have used a little more au jus, but other than that it was a terrific sandwich. Lamb was tender and flavorful, and the basque cheese and piperade/paprika aioli combo went well with all of it. Would definitely come here again next time I'm in Elko. Also got some Basque cider which I really liked. Didn't exactly pair with the sandwich but it didn't really matter. Fun to have some legit Basque food when that's not a common cuisine in a lot of places outside of this region. read more

So we're looking for lunch and I ask my daughter "where do you recommend?" and she goes "Ogi - it's a no brainer." Okay, Ogi it is. We walk in just before lunch time and it's already hopping - a good sign. Their sandwich menu (which is what we were jonesin' for) is extensive. I don't think you could walk in and not find a sandwich that interested you. I went with the Jamon y Piquillo sandwich on french roll that they served panini style. I've recently started to appreciate the subtlety of the piquillo pepper. This sandwich absolutely came through. Jamon had the right salt and flavor of serrano ham combined with the rich taste of the piquillo. Now, one of my favorite sandwiches of all time - I'm stealing this one. My wife had the French Dip. It was fine, not her favorite french dip. I didn't let that detract me from giving this a 5 star review - I just don't think french dip is their thing. We have a local french dip sandwich place in our hometown and I think that has spoiled her forever. The service was great. You order from the counter and if you're eating in, get a table number and they bring the food to your table. There are some neat, hand made wooden tables in the restaurant which added to the cool, "Ogi" feel. I had a beer from the tap - always nice, she had a soda. I am new to the Elko area and always am looking for great local spots. This deli is defiantly one of them. They are located on a side street were if you are not looking for them you will miss it and maybe that's a good thing. The store front is very clean looking and invited and when you walk into the business that continues. It's very clean and modern on the inside. The menu is clearly displayed and the staff is very friendly and helpful. You just get good vibes when you walk in. The menu is vast with a lot of option which I like. They offer everything from breakfast to lunch and the sides also look great. I got the Lamb grinder which was sliced lamb with a basque style cheese and sweet peppers and I believe it was a paprika aioli on it. It was serviced with a side of Au Jus and it was pretty spectacular. You can tell it was house roasted lamb that was well seasoned. The au jus paired well with it and it was just a perfect sandwich. There's not a lot to eat along this stretch of the trip from Salt Lake to San Francisco. We don't do fast food, but we also don't want to take too much time to stop. I called ahead to Ogi's, seeing they were closing in the next half hour. She was happy to take my order, and we picked the sandwiches up within minutes since we were already en route. The place is bright and welcoming, even as they were ready to close. I couldn't resist ordering one of the Cowboy Cookies sitting in a glass jar on the counter. Our sandwiches were both really good - one of us had the beef and horseradish, and the other had Tuscan chicken. Both were solidly tasty, big, and fresh. I was looking around, prior to a trip, for the "it" place, that very narrow lane for lunch spots where a place is something more than fast food yet not quite a formal sit-down type restaurant that will burn at least an hour. I found this and the first paragraph of Kevin N.'s review kind of struck me, and it has a Basque lean. I always like digging into the cuisine of cultures I'm not overly familiar with, so I put this on the mental list. Delis can definitely be good, if I had time, and I also like to be able to take a fountain drink with me, so when I got there and saw Coke Zero on tap, we were golden. So I park in the quaint little lot adjacent, which reminds me a lot of a certain section of Rapid City, and amble on up to the counter, where I take a step back to gaze in wide wonderment at the sprawling menu. Like everything in NV, there's booze if you want it, but also an interesting dessert display, which features a Basque cheesecake. Well, that's a sure thing, right there, but I should probably get a sandwich to go with it. After some deliberation, I finally settle on the muffuletta. My history with this sandwich is a bit complicated. It should be a winner, but it really depends on the quality of the meats on it. I've had it twice in Salt Lake and both times, it was very little meat and overly bready, which is *not* the way, and it put me off the sandwich for quite some time. Happily here, the cuts were excellent and it had an olive tapenade that was utterly divine and best of all, it came as a panini, which was a total surprise, but entirely welcome. I do love me a good panini, even better when it's a great one like here, and priced not too shabbily. As to the cheesecake, definitely not the case. The cheesecake was interesting, not quite sure what makes it Basque exactly, as it didn't stray super far from most cheesecakes, and the sour strawberry chunks on top were a decidedly not great touch. This thing cost nearly as much as the sandwich, like $7, if memory serves, and it should have been realistically about half that. So, definitely won't be indulging in one of those again, but the parts that were good, the ambiance, the feel of a solid "locals" spot, the excellent sandwich, the soda fountain selection, I was more than happy with and this is definitely an easy 5 for me. read more

Found this deli in our road trip. The people working there were all so friendly and welcoming. We (4 of us) got our sandwiches really quickly. The food was delicious!! Really yummy sandwiches. We took ours to go, but the seating was ample enough for what looked like the lunch rush. I would definitely stop here again if I ever find myself back in Elko. read more

This is a cozy little sandwich shop that has a huge selection of traditional and basque-style sandwiches. They also have wraps, salads, and breakfast items. Of course, like other restaurants in town, they have a full bar too. The restrooms are very clean, in fact the whole place is hip and clean! Service is over the top friendly and they'll be happy to explain sandwich toppings or what makes a sandwich basque, for the out-of-towners. I tried the popular lamb grinder, with a cup of beef stew and a soft drink. Not my typical lunchtime meal, but it sounded good. The lamb itself isn't gamey, but the sheep's milk cheese is. This dish isn't spicy at all. The stew was delicious, and contained lots of tender chunks of beef. Overall, it was slightly less expensive than the other sandwich restaurant I was planning to visit during lunch. read more

I was in a training class and Ogi Deli was provided. I chose the chicken Caesar salad and it did NOT disappoint. Truly a delicious salad. The chicken was flavorful and well cooked, the lettuce was nice and fresh, and the salad dressing was perfect. Note to self (and whoever is reading this!): do some research on the history of the different towns you stop in to eat. We stopped here in the middle of the road trip and happened by Ogi's by chance. It turns out they have delicious basque-style sandwiches. This seemed surprising until we learned that Elko has a lot of basque heritage dating back to the goldrush times, and therefore some really great food that we don't get back home. We had the lamb grinder, which was scrumptious. Their giant chocolate chip cookie was a delight as well.
