Second time getting food poisoning from food here. First time the crab we got from there and this time it was hamburger we bought to make homemade smash burgers. Within 4 hours my wife started throwing up sick then 6 hours I was doing the same. Im not sure if they are purposely selling spoiled food to not take a loss or if there handing meat secrion is horrible and dirty and mishandled. Ether way we have bought multiple items in the past that tasted spoiled like yogurt, and milk. This is a store I will now avoid for any purchase. read more

I had sent my brother over there at about 11:45 to get some feminine products for me. He got there at 11:50 and got to a register to pay by 11:56 and was told he couldn't buy it, that he was being banned from the store, and that they were gonna call police. Yes it really nice to travel and still have access to your favorite supermarket. Each of the Smith we go in, have a very familiar deal. Since we use the app, we can access all of the sales and specials. Traveling with the trailer requires stopping at supermarkets to fill up the refrigerator. This is definitely a nice place to stop. Sitting here at the Deli waiting to get some deli meat and cheese. 2 employees behind the counter look at us multiple times. They say nothing and do nothing. After approximately 5 minutes we ask for help at which point one employee said she thinks the deli server must have gone to the bathroom. 3 people back there and apparently only one is "trained" in deli operations. It's not the first place I think of when I think of going to a supermarket in Elko. But it IS probably the place I should think of first. The prices are all reasonable. The produce that I got last night was great! The friendly service isn't overly so and they seem to be pretty busy. One of the strangest things about this place is the location of the cheese aisle. Why is that in the middle when everything else is where it normally is? Normally I can just ring a store on the outside and get what I want mostly. Anyway. The parking here sorta sucks for bigger vehicles so just park farther away so you don't find yourself in a fender bender. The liquor selection here is meager compared to some other places in town. But they do have a pretty good mixer section. Go figure. And hey...they do have the greatest name for a store.....gotta give them 4 stars at least for that! read more

Not happy we pulled up to fill up our tires. Not only was there no tire gauge. But also you have to set to your tire pressure otherwise it leaks air out of your tires. We wasted our first 5 minutes talking to an attendant who told us this. Then they said it was an independent system that she couldn't reset which meant we had to pay for another 5 minutes. read more

I find it very disappointing that this Smiths store does not seem to require face masks for COVID safety. There seem to be many customers here who lack a basic respect for others' health & lives such that they walk around the store unmasked. I've used Smith's Pharmacy for years. I love the staff, how easy it is to consult with the pharmacist, to automatically renew. Then VISA decided to bully its customers and Smith's will no longer accept my VISA card. So I have to change pharmacies and I'm not happy. I wish there were a way for Smith's to not make its customers the pawns in this war. Sadly, I'll never be back. read more

Smith's used to be the place to shop. Many of the employees AND management think it is ok and appropriate to chew gum like cows and eat and drink while on the floor where they are supposed to be working. With the exception of a few of the employees who have been there forever, they are somewhat rude and don't really care. I have expressed concerns to the new management, but they don't really seem to care about what locals think, as they are here as transplants from SLC. One of the front end managers is the worst, as she chews her cud and has an air of arrogance at her oh-so-important position. As was mentioned before, it gets to be a pretty scary place to shop alone after dark. Yes, the prices are lower than every place else in town, but I'll pay the extra $20 a week for groceries elsewhere to have a better shopping experience. If I am in a hurry, I will stop in here to pick up minimal items. read more

I back this place. Store is pretty good-sized. Bathrooms are in the front, which is handy. Layout is questionable here, though. When I'm walking through the entire damn store twice trying to find bottled water, you guys are doing something wrong. Placement of stuff, as others have noted, is also a bit odd. When I go to a grocery store, I don't especially want nor appreciate having to run a maze. Further, it's certainly novel for me to see gambling machines in a grocery store, but I dissent with that idea. Not on principle, but because it takes up valuable real estate and guess what suffers? Selection, which is also questionable here. I was pleased to see the liquor section, which was actually pretty solid, however, other stores can manage to have one without neglecting the day-in, day-out stuff that grocery stores are ostensibly for. I also like that they have pumps and apparently so does everyone else, as that was the one area of the property that was constantly mobbed. Staff overall was very good, which is always appreciated. I think with a bit of work, this could be one of the better stores, but its current incarnation is a bit wanting overall... read more

I love shopping at Smith's! The prices are always decent and you can find some really good deals on much loved favorites. I will drive the fifteen minutes from Spring Creek in order to shop here. Their produce is usually pretty good and their hardly ever out of anything. You can get even better deals if you join their Rewards club. Plus, an added bonus with the Rewards club is that you can gain gas rewards when you buy groceries. Overall, this is the best place I've found for groceries! read more

Melany from deli was very unpleasant. We were waiting to have our order taken and she advised us that she was helping a customer that was there before us, no biggie of course we can wait. The customer got what they needed & left. We waited for Melany to come take our order next but she didn't come. So we asked again if she could take our order. I went to Smith trying to some what eat healthy. I went to the Deli to get some chicken and wedges. To my surprise, very little was there. The chicken was very dry and old. The potato wedges were hard and wrinkled. You guys know all this means. Horrible taste and appeal. I would have been better off at McDonald's. Smiths not the place to eat fresh healthy food at the deli, yuck. At least in the fried side. read more

I like this store but lately I feel that this store needs some improvements. They have sale prices on shelves that they dont honor because they forgot to remove the old sale price off. They leave outdated food on shelves to which i dont catch until I go to use it. Then i have to return back to the store to get it replaced. Also lately the store is cold as if the heat is off, and is almost as cold as it is outside. Incoveniences that should be looked in to. jmo read more

I am very impressed by this store as of lately. I use to hate going shopping but it has become a better establishment to shop at. The bakery has an amazing clerk that works night. Being from a different country it is difficult to adjust but wouldn't you know she speaks perfect Gaelic.
