Kinda surprised to see all the bad reviews on here, this is a good Walmart as they go. Though as I skim them it seems like a kinda random selection of personal anecdotes with a bad employee rather than specific consistent issues. Often busy as you'd expect with lines at the registers even at off hours, but self checkout has tons of kiosks and moves along fast. Place low-key has tons of good stuff on clearance every time I visit for some reason. They even have a little alcohol clearance area, never see those around let alone at a Wally World. read more

I recently went and unfortunately checked out the reviews for this product and found what it was made of and what kinds of cats eat it and everything else about this inexpensive cat food. The store and products are fine as most Walmarts are. What determines the star rating is the experience and that is people driven. I was passing through and wanted to get an oil change. The woman at the counter was very negative, not helpful at all and really should NOT be in a customer facing position. Another customer in line told me about another place in town called Silver Street express which I called and was greeted by a friendly person. I went there. Much better experience! Walmart had a very good return policy As most of you know If your not trying to pull a fat one ( you know who you are ) it can be a good expert in spite of needing return help. I had a tire go bad . A manufacturer defect. Tyler the tire manager listened to my concerns agreed it was defective and I showed my receipt that I had bought the tires from Walmart . All good . NOT quite . Tyler orders the tire , I make an appointment and show up 15 minutes before hand as instructed in my text . I am being screamed at by a tire boy , doors open at 7 am . Ok I say . No good morning ? Yelling at me ? The tire boy inside started with this long convoluted story ( no one in any Walmart anywhere does this with ANY other product.) I let him finish and say Tyler had it all set . So they call him at home . He says it's all set then I get a lecture from this Kid . They are too young and too inexperienced to have seen the Firestone debacle in 2000. Hey boys ? Waited 45 minutes to get a rotary tool out of a locked glass display. Pressed the button to ask some to unlock it probably 25 times. Saw at least 6 associates, none of whom had a key. Half of them paged someone, who again never showed up. Kind of a trash place even for a Walmart read more

Don't buy anything expensive here! I bought a $174 Hart Vacuum Cleaner six weeks ago and it quit working six weeks later with a defective bearing. I tried to have it exchanged and the clerk first said I should have saved the box, then she said that the receipt stated I had only 30 days to return it. She couldn't show me anything that said I had to keep the box nor could she find anything about 30 days in my receipt. Finally she said that her computer couldn't link my receipt to that exact vacuum cleaner, and then she ignored me. I left feedback on Walmart's site, but got no response. So much for their "90 day return policy" on their website and their "customer satisfaction guarantee." (update in July) Hart, the manufacturer, responded to my messages for warranty replacement, and sent me a new replacement. a couple of weeks after I made contact. Walmart never bothered to respond to my complaint, reinforcing my initial advice above to avoid buying any high value item there, since they do not respond to defects in the products they sell. read more

This store is a disaster. Hire some employees especially during the holidays. They have one poor kid in electronics and he can't catch a break it's just ridiculous. Zero customer service you can't call anyone to ask a question they are rude and keep you on hold. The Pharmacy does not deserve even a 1 star, but since a negative 10 is not an option, we will start with a One. Ben, the Pharmacist, was upset that people (sick people, I might add) walked in with new scripts before 6p on a Sunday. There was a lady in front of us who had just been hurt on the job, and probably had come straight from the ER because her hand and arm was tied up in a sling of sorts. Ben was not at all happy that she needed pain meds so late in the day. It was almost closing. I mean, seriously, could she not have gotten injured during banking hours, and certainly not on a holiday weekend. It is Memorial day.. tomorrow. We were there because of severe tonsillitis, which was diagnosed Friday, but had progressively gotten worse. The doctor rushed to see us Sunday afternoon, when his clinic is closed, and the only pharmacy that was open was Walmart. This is the ONLY reason we chose Walmart. The lady who checked our scripts was pleasant, but Ben was not happy that there were now more scripts to be filled before 6p, when he feels we waited until closing on purpose. After making several comments, just for good measure in case we did not catch on that he was not happy with us, he told us again that we waited until closing. I finally apologized for keeping him 2 minutes past closing time and he said- "oh no problem, it happens every Sunday because we are the only pharmacy open until 6p." There was one script he "could not" fill because he needed more instructions from the doctor. The next morning I called at 1030 (since Ben also informed us not to expect it at 10 because that is when he is walking in the door, not filling scripts). At that point he told me that he would not be able to fill the script because it was mixing 4 liquids together and they don't do that. I told him that it would have been nice to know that last night and his response - it would have been nice if you would not have showed up 5 minutes until closing. I asked him if I could get the script faxed to another Pharmacy, or possibly pick it up and he said- NOPE. The doctor had to meet us (also another day his clinic was closed) so that he could write another script and said that any pharmacy should be capable of mixing this medication. In other words, he is a child and was mad because he is expected to actually work until 6p. He definitely chose the wrong profession because sick people rarely need medication only on days that are acceptable for a pompous man named Ben who works at the Elko, NV pharmacy. I swore off Wal-Mart for years for various reasons, but as there is no Target in town and the pharmacy in the Wal-Mart in this town has to be the most efficient I have found and as there is even a salon to buy my hair products at and a nail place to get my pedicures, I had no choice but to start to frequent. At first I found the customer service at the pharmacy to be rude but killed them with kindness and things have gotten on a better track for me. And the pharmacists here are top notch so no complaints about them. Customer service in the rest of the Wal-Mart has been spotty, with varying experiences of bad to good service almost every time I find myself in there. Might do some good to have a comprehensive update on that in order for the store to run more efficiently. read more

management seems to treat employees with no respect. i was getting groceries and i overheard this young man say he can't go outside because he is sick. the manager then tells him it's okay and sends him out anyways. the young man actually sounded sick as well. it may seem small but i noticed the staff inside was female but the staff outside is ONLY MALE. im mainly bothered because he was very friendly and welcoming but some of the female staff had attitude towards me. if my son was sick and forced outside to work when there are capable woman inside, i would be livid. why do they seem to give the female staff more favorable tasks? read more

Just read the review from last summer by someone who was verbally threatened because they asked someone to keep their 6 ft distance. I had the exact same thing happen to me in December. I'm sure it was a different party but after several requests she told me, I aught to kick your ass! She was wearing a mask, but she stayed right on top of me even at the register (she could have read my PIN if I had entered one.) I told her to go ahead, I'd come visit her in jail. She seemed a bit taken back when I said that. I collected my change and left. Again, neither the checker or anyone else stepped in. A huge percentage of people in that store are maskless, and no one enforces any of the rules. I have to go in there to get my husband's meds (some things I have to get off the shelf and can't get via drive up.) If it weren't for that I would never set foot in that place! read more

This Walmart sucks! No one has a key to the sporting goods counters. They expect you to check yourself out and then stop you at the front door and see if you stole anything, I told the big guy with glasses and dreads he does a good job at embarrassing people.. Customer service takes around an hour to help with a return and then,they only want to give you a gift card. They conveniently lock the doors on the north west end of the store at 7:55 p.m so you half to walk a half mile to your vehicle. I could go on and on but all just shop somewhere else.. read more

I was verbally threatened today. I asked someone to back up to socially distance today and I was told; "I will beat your a**. They thought, I assume -I had told their "daughter" who looked 30 years old - to back up - spread out the inches to feet they were encroaching behind me in line. They were not wearing masks. I put my cart as a buffer in between finally. They pushed themselves up again the handlebars of my cart. I had less than 4 feet of space. They were not wearing masks. I was. I asked them for distance and they threatened me with bodily harm. I also heard threats from nearby patrons in other check out lines near me. They kept up loud speeches and language even though I did not acknowledge or address them and I tried to hurry my check out. I asked the checker to call security and the person did nothing. No management showed up either. The non mask and non social distancing persons who threaten to beat me up continued to push against the handlebars of my cart as I threw in my items. I left quickly out of fear after paying. I went home and called for 20 minutes trying to reach management. I finally called the Walmart corporate office and the connection was so bad I gave up. They did say that they couldn't contact management either. As of now - I fear for my safety at this store. I will never go back. I am asthmatic and have a special needs son - something I don't expect others to fully understand but I had hoped for social distancing and mask wearing at the very least. I did not find that. I found NO enforcement. I found rude, obnoxious, dangerous people in this store. I strongly suggest any patron to evaluate this store for yourself. I will not spend another dollar or penny here in the entirety of my life. Walmart clearly is interested in endangering my life and that of many others. I was appalled at the amount of people casually disregarding NV covid regulations. The front signs at the store are clear about entering with masks. Signs on the floor are also simple and clear to follow but nobody does. No employee, management or anyone affiliated with this Walmart says anything or enforces any regulation. I fear this is a dangerous, infectious place to be in Elko. More than any other store in this town. read more

Only large store in town. Probably the worst Walmart I've been in. Isles are packed down center with boxes of items, no one to put stuff on shelves, see photo for example, entire store is this way. Seems like there is no management or they just don't care. I would think the fire marshal might have concerns about this arrangement. Been this way for at least 3 months. I don't know what is wrong with the Elko NV Walmart, but holy crap, it's crap. Sure, I understand that the people in Elko get dirty a bit more than other folk, but the store is always trashed. I get scared every time I walk in here, but it's the best place to find non-grocery items. This place is dirty, things are never where they are supposed to be, and they'll be out of stock for no reason and not even know it. I asked for help in finding a movie and they said they didn't know because their movie guy went home. Also, I had an item shipped to the store for Christmas. When I got to the customer service area, the man behind the counter had no idea how to do his job. He spent almost 30 minutes figuring out how to do a return on layaway item for an EMPLOYEE, that he left me, the CUSTOMER waiting for a half hour to get a picture frame. On Tuesday September 3rd, 2019 I contacted Walmart for a price on mounting and balancing four tires I purchased online for my vehicle. I was quoted a price that was to my satisfaction. I traveled from Battle Mountain, NV to Elko, NV. Upon arriving at Walmart in Elko I proceeded to the automotive department where I was checked in by someone named Justin at 1:05 p.m., after he finished being rude to another customer on the phone. I was informed that the price I was quoted on the phone would not be honored. Justin stated I'd be paying twice the amount I was recently quoted and 8 cars were ahead of me so it would take some time. I handed my keys to Justin and went to speak to the manager at the front desk. The manager spoke to Justin on the phone and had the price adjusted to the original price I was quoted. While I waited I went shopping for my monthly groceries with my allotted food stamp amount. Many hours later customers that came after me were leaving and my car remained untouched. I informed the same manager upfront of my predicament and my roommate was allowed to re-shop for some of the refrigerated items that were starting to spoil. 6:45 p.m. my car was the last car in the garage every other customer had left prior to me and even Justin had left for the evening. I was finally handed my car keys and left Walmart at 7:30 p.m. I did not arrive home in Battle Mountain, Nevada till 9:30 p.m. . My groceries that were cold were either thawed out or hot. I am a paranoid schizophrenic who must take medicine at a certain time. Being made to wait such a long time with obvious malice made me miss my medication. I also do not see very well after dark and should not have been made to drive at a time I do not normally drive. The following morning I felt that the car was pulling and I had the tire pressures checked. Walmart had the following tire pressures set. Front driver's tire 65 lbs. Front passenger tire 55 lbs. Rear driver's tire 45 lbs. Rear passenger tire 32lbs. All tires should have been set to 32 lb as specified by the manufacturer. The tires being set at 10 lb increments except for one tire is obviously done with malice. The tires being set to those pressures could have caused a blowout resulting in an accident that could have hurt me, my roommate, my pets or any other passenger in my car. Not to mention anyone else on the road could have been hurt when the inevitable blowout would have happened. I do not care what the intent was of those involved in messing with my car. I am paranoid schizophrenic as I mentioned and now I am afraid to drive my vehicle which I still owe over $13,000 on because I cannot stop the thoughts that they put into my head by messing with my safety. I can only wonder what else they may have done to my car in the back while they were also messing with my tires. Multiple attempts to contact someone in Walmart have failed and only resulted in someone from Walmart offering my roommate to pay for some of the groceries that were damaged. It was not his food stamps to replace it was mine. Yet no one in Walmart has seen fit to fix this obvious attempt to hurt me and or my car. I am concerned that this will help until someone else in the future. I won't judge the store by the inbred customers as some others have done. Minimum wage employees shouldn't be expected to intervene. My issue is with management. Ive never seen a retail store with longer lines. People tend to get upset when they have to wait for 15 minutes to check out. I don't. I leave my cart and go elsewhere. Apparently the local Walmart manager thinks it's OK to have dozens of people in line at each of the few open registers. Please join me in shopping elsewhere. read more

I went inside this morning looking for postcards to send back home, as I am currently traveling through. Lyla was incredibly kind and helpful. She went out of her way to look for and see if the store carried what I was looking for. She went above and beyond my expectations as both an employee and a human being. Walmart is as Walmart does! They have a nice photo center....everyone loves $5 movie bins, especially when they're organized. I love getting my tires balanced and rotated here. This place is a joke. Of the 22 checkout stations only 2 are open, and one of those is the "speedy checkout". The wait to get through to a cashier is 40 minutes. The store is not clean or stocked. Tried to order the tires over the phone. He told me I had to come to the store and order them, I realized I could order them online. He almost made me drive the 40 mile round trip just to order. I know, it's Walmart but this one comes with local color you will only see in Nevada. Some of the highlights for RV travelers there is late night drag racing in the parking lot and up and down the main road. Cops don't seem too interested as not one was seen either of our two last visits to this location. On the plus side the view of the Elko mountains to the south was beautiful. read more
