Every time I've gone to this location, they always kind of look at me like they're bothered I entered their store. Their customer service is terrible. Online ordered two sandwiches. Breads were mixed up between the two. Went back in and had to explain what happened several times before he would believe he made a mistake. Stopped by for a quick bite on the way from Reno to Salt Lake. Wasn't expecting much in terms of service but dang. The female that worked here took things to new levels. Very unpersonable. Could totally tell she didn't wanna be there. Her attitude to me wasn't rude, but not what you expect from the service industry. What was worse was the way she treated her subordinates. We wanted a quick sandwich for our long drive so stopped in at port of subs in Elko. It was not very busy, even at noon. The people behind the counter were quick and efficient thus the 2 star rating instead of a 0 (if there was that option). The quality of the food is terrible. Not only was the bread stale and falling apart, the vegetables appeared like they had been out for many days. They were all bad looking,especially the tomatoes and the greens (wilted lettuce and spinach). I would NEVER serve these to guests at my home. Not even the cookie was fresh. Not too sure how they could stay in business. Maybe if the manager is reading this, he/she can make some changes for the better. read more

I hate to leave a bad review but... oh my God. I should've turned around and left at the sight of flies behind the counter. The rag the workers used to wipe their hands was brown with dried, old mustard. I genuinely had to wrestle my first bite and the bread texture resembled that of tree bark. I LOVE PORT OF SUBS!! And I hate giving any Port of Subs location a rating lower than 4 stars, but there is still much to be desired of this location. My two biggest gripes about this location is that I have been served dry, crunchy bread on more than one instance. I usually get wheat bread, and that's usually the culprit. Sandwich bread should ALWAYS be soft, and that's not always the case here. My other gripe is with their cookies. Always crunchy, never soft. And even though I continue to buy them and keep hoping their cookies will improve, they're always crunchy and over cooked. These things won't keep me from coming back. I stop here every time I drive home to Reno. I just hope the owners see this review and make some improvements. read more

Man, what a let down. I was expecting the quality of a jimmy johns or firehouse....I received subway or McDonald's. This was my very first time trying port of subs. I walked in around 2 pm. The store was empty and the employees were standing around (they looked bored). I told the sandwich expert that I had never been to a port of subs. He suggested 3-4 of their most popular subs. I ordered: 8 inch turkey and Provolone on white: There are hardly any choices as sandwich toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions and black olives). I chose to have tomatoes, onions and salt/pepper. My meal was $9 (with a bag of chips and a water cup). The sandwich looked OK. Nothing special or exciting. I finally found a clean table and took a seat (all the tables were covered in food....odd for bored employees)?? My sandwich was SO DRY. Holy dry bread batman!! This is by far one of the driest sandwiches I've ever had! The cheese and meat were nothing special.....blah. not impressed. Overall, 1.5 stars. I will round up to 2. The food is good i perfer it over subway because they offer smoked ham and swiss cheese. My kids like it to. My daughter loves thier brownies. The guy slicing the meat and cheese could of been a little more friendly he seemed kind of annoyed when we telling him what we wanted. But other than that it was an overall good experience, we will come back. My husband has gone back in there several other times and he always get the same guy who is rude and acts annoyed when he has to take his order. I'm surprised of all the negative reviews. I stop here while traveling several times a year and always get a delicious sandwich with fast no-frills service. One time a couple years ago, I came in right when they were opening. They were super busy making sandwiches for the firefighters that were fighting the terrible fires in the area, and I still got great food and quickly. Port of Subs is NOT like any other fast food sandwich shop. For one, Subway can be found all over the world and Quizno's specializes in hot sandwiches. Port of Subs is only found on the west coast. I was really surprised when I moved to Elko and realized they had a Port of Subs. I became instantly excited because even the town my husband went to law school at didn't have a decent sandwich place! This specific Port of Subs makes delicious sandwiches. Their bread is always fresh as are their toppings. I always get my sandwich grilled and they are more than happy to oblige. Worst service ever! Eduardo has absolutely no customer service and an extremely bad attitude. Throwing our sandwiches across the line and acting miserable. For the cherry on top...their bathroom was ABSOLUTELY disgusting with throw-up all over the toilet and sink. Sadly, it didn't seem like anything new because the men's nor the women's restroom looked like they had been cleaned in weeks. I had to walk across the parking lot and find a different public restroom to use. We love port of subs but this was the biggest disappointment. My ordering experience was horrible. I don't even have my food yet, but I'm convinced it will be messed up anyways. First, I tried to order on the app, but it wouldn't take a gift card, so I had to call. Then, a very disgruntled, unfriendly young man answered. I felt like I was a nuisance to him, which is not how your customers should be made to feel. He was rude and short with me. Clean environment that has a great variety of above average subs. I recommend the #5, it is a great tasting sandwich if you are into smoked ham, and turkey. The location however does not always have easy parking, usually packed due to the stores around. All in all it is a place that I think you should visit when craving a sandwich or salad. read more

This place has gone WAY down hill! I will no longer be going back. They have hired a few new people in the last couple month, and these people should NOT have been hired to begin with. Piercings in (which im not against, but while you're making my food I'd prefer not to see it), no uniform on one employee, totally unsanitary and the counters were not wiped down even once while we were in there. The man who has been slicing the meats asks you want you want and then doesnt pay attention the first time around so you have to tell him at least 2-3 times EVERYTIME, I've also had to read him the menu multiple times because he doesnt know what the hell he is doing. I love Port of Subs. I really do. I've been eating at multiple locations since I was six and I don't intend to stop. That said, the location in Elko is disappointing. I've eaten there twice in the past week on my way to and from Reno. Both times, the bread was old and stale, they gave me less meat than other locations, the employees were unfriendly, and the tables and restrooms were dirty. It's not comparable at all to the high standard of fresh food and excellent customer service that is normally a standard for Port of Subs food chains. I'm glad I only drive through this area twice a year. Hopefully next time there will have been a change in management. read more

Their service was about as good as the subs...terrible. The woman making our sandwich was rude and unfriendly. None of the employees could manage a smile the entire time we were in there, and every table was dirty despite there being four employees and only two other customers in the store. All of the toppings were skimped on except the lettuce (which was a heaping pile). My bread was very tough as well. Overall I was not impressed by this place at all.
