    Great to go food

Road trip home from Colorado Springs to California, great stop on I80 is Elko, NV! Cute downtown and this amazing gem! We saw the large Cornish Pasties sign and knew we Needed to try them! Good pasties or any are hard to come by in Fresno, CA, these were amazing! We had the mushroom and traditional beef and onion. Also picked up a cute and delicious blueberry pie. The savory pasties are so delicious. I wish they could ship me some! Next road trip we know where to stop :)

Perfect spot for breakfast and lunch. We split the chicken curry and the chili verde pies and both are highly recommended. We paired them with their hot and sweet sauces, which added another level of complexity to the flavor profile, in a wonderful way. It took everything in me to not order the sweet versions (peach and pecan), which I will be sure to do next time we are in town.

So stoked to see that a local restaurant lived up to the hype. So so very good. Really very happy and grateful to have stopped here for a quick bite before heading to the museum. My wife and I split a couple of pasties - the chicken, curry special, and the beef and potato. I recommend them both wholeheartedly - using their special sauce on the beef and potato was out of this world. You gotta stop here if you're driving through or if you're here in town for a visit or if you live here I suppose.

Stopped by BJ Bull Bakery for the first time and was genuinely impressed. The food was fresh and flavorful--definitely made with care. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and everyone I interacted with was warm and welcoming. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. I'll absolutely be back.

Great little place in Elko! Tried the beef and potato pasty, and the beef and cabbage pasty. Both really good. Seemed expensive, but they were filling and tasty, so ok on the value front. Hot sauce was a great addition. Only a few seats inside - counter at the window. Got some mini pies to go - very fresh and tasty. Cherry was the best.

Holy smokes these meat pies are bomb! I grabbed four flavors to split with the husband and will be back for more! Quick Grab-and-go , service was great, it's the perfect little pie shop! Took them home they were still hot!

    Small pecan pie

First time in Elko, NV for my wife and I. Headed to Wildhorse reservoir. Checked this place out per Yelp reviews. Totally accurate on reviews. We tried the Beef and mushroom Pastie and small pecan pie. Both so darn tasty. The Pastie was so warm and tasty it reminded me of a freshly cooked delicious pot pie. The pecan pie was so perfectly baked. The crust was crispy and the pecan filling was so delicious. The pecans had a sugary crisp finish to them just sealing the taste bud savory. The lady owner was so nice. They were out of coffee and she went out of her busy way to make us a fresh pot. A busy place understandably so@

What a hidden gem! What a find! What a treasure!! Cornish Pasties!? I'd never tried Cornish meat pasties before. I've made meat pies homemade from leftover stew once , but that's the closest I've gotten to anything like this. I knew the history of Cornish meat pies from my mom. She told me how miners wives would make them meat pies because the mines are dark, and the men needed an easier and faster way to eat. Elko is known for their mines, so I had to try it this little piece of history. The building consists of a cute little kitchen with a brick and mortar style counter for ordering. The menu is very simple, which I believe makes these even better. They value quality over quantity, with everything made from scratch. The employees are super nice and the lady who took my order was the sweetest. I tried the Beef and Mushroom pie, the Breakfast pie, and I got the special to take home, which was a Ham and Au Gratin pie. And I of course had to get a few of their homemade meat pie sauces! That ham pie is frozen, so I'll be attempting to heat it for lunch tomorrow in my air fryer. I decided to break into the Beef and mushroom first because the menu said it had whole button mushrooms! I can't even describe how delicious this meat filling is. Beef, whole mushrooms, and sautéed onions make up this pie and it does NOT disappoint in flavor. The crust is flaky and reminded me of a pot pie crust. The breakfast pie is scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage. It was full of filling and very tasty, but the beef one was my absolute favorite. I'll definitely be going back to B.J's! I can't wait to try different pies like the chili verde and the chicken and rice. Or the many desserts like bread pudding, and all the fruit pies they have! This place is a must try if you're in Elko!

Pasties are excellent. Be sure to get the optional sauce. Beef and mushroom are our favorite.

Between the fresh produce from Cali, the homemade 'Pan & Pan Dulce' aka bread and sweet breads, the snack bar and the fried chicharrones... I've found my new favorite spot in town. I've been there a few times now and I just want to keep going back!! First time I went I got some Pan Dulce, a dozen pork tamales, 6 Quesabirria tacos w/ consume and elote from the snack bar. I went home and between my son and I, we ate all the tacos and Elote. Then I, over the coarse of a week, ate all the tamales for lunch! And the sweet breads are my favorite midnight snack. The pork tamales were so fricken good! They were flavorful, even a bit Smokey and a good size! The Pan Dulce is amazing. I fricken love that bread and it's always fresh! There are no words for how good those Quesabirria tacos are. Ask for consume to dip them!!!! Best tacos in town hands down. The corn was awesome and I put hot sauce on it! The second time I went I found chicharrones con carne and just HAD to get some. Now usually I just eat it the way it is as a snack, but the lady at the register told me I should do it en salsa! So I made homemade salsa roja and cooked them in it. It was out of this world!!! I want to make it that way all the time now!
