The ladies here are so sweet and the food is SO GOOD. I live in Boise and this is the only place with sweet and sour sauce that I enjoy! It's always a pleasure to come visit. My egg roll looked burnt and I didn't even have to say anything she replaced it as soon as she saw and I couldn't thank her enough for making our visit here spectacular as always. Great wall is one of our favorite places to eat in town for Chinese food because it's super cheap but super good!!! You walk up to the counter and they have prepared food that you can pick out like at Panda Express!! Seeing as how Elko doesn't have a Panda Express, this is an awesome option for us. If you plan on getting potstickers, let them know first because they have to make them fresh. We usually order two boxes because they are that good. This night I got Mayonnaise Shrimp, Beef and Broccoli, Half Chow Mein and Half Fried Rice and of course the Pot Stickers. One thing I really love about this place is they don't charge you extra for shrimp entrées like panda does. The food is always so good and really hits the spot for a greasy late night Chinese food plate. But the potstickers keep me coming back coming back time! after time. It's done in a panda express style. Food is good. Customer service is meh. The amount of sweet and sour sauce they provide isn't enough but if you ask fir extra, you get the vibe that they don't want to give you extra. read more

Once again, the best food in all of Elko whether you want to believe it or not. Great service! Great people but they need the put their heads up high and not look down when talking to customers. I know they show respect but they should always be proud of their food, which they are because it is kept at the right cold chain process at the right temperature and that is so important unlike many other restaurants in Elko. So once again I give them 100% quality food. There is no number that I can give them because it is the best in all of Elko and I'm sure statewide. Thank you again Steph and management and owners. I went to this restaurant based on several of the reviews - I was very disappointed in the food that I got. Both of my chicken dishes tasted the exact same and the fried rice had no flavor. Great for a quick dinner any night of the week. They have your choice of steamed or fried rice plus chow mein then you pick from 8-10 entrees. I recommend the sesame chicken or the pineapple pork. They also have hot & sour soup, egg flower and egg rolls. They also have a full menu, we've ordered from it a few times and it was super-fast and they include free stuff like fried wontons when you spend a certain amount. First off, the caveat. I'm a sucker for questionable Chinese food. It is, without question, my go to, comfort, not sure where I'm headed at this time in my life food. With that said, I absolutely love Great Wall Express. It's the version of Chinese food that all of us United States citizens have come to love. Beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork. All dishes that everyone can get behind. Service is friendly. This is not gourmet food. This is in a strip mall with a GNC, and a jewelry store flanking the sides. With all that said, I'm typically in Elko three days per week. I generally eat at Great Wall two of those three days. It's only when I'm really in the mood for something different that I stray somewhere else. Don't believe the rumors. If you're in the mood for Chinese food. Very, very Americanized, this is not one of those places you wanna turn down. Of nothing else, I just love the way I'm treated like a celebrity. The staff is polite, smiling, and friendly. It's plenty of good authentic food here. I come from Vancouver where 50% are Chinese. There are so many Chinese restaurants here that I sometimes forget I'm in Canada. It's good food with good options and so much food all under $20. We ordered 2- 3 items. We loved their chicken with mushroom, shrimp with mayo( who serves seafood at these types of pick up food) and orange chicken. All had tons of authentic flavour and we were so full!!! The fried rice and noodles are like a bonus because in Canada you have to pay $2 extra to get fried rice that doesnt even have any meat inside or the thick noodles at Manchu Wok which is the equivalent to Panda Express. read more

My friend and I went to Great Wall, and we left with our food. We were eating in the parking lot, and my friend felt something unusual in her mouth. She pulled it out, and it was a cockroach. We went in and told the lady we found a cockroach in our food, and she told us she didn't know what we were talking about, and what we do with our food when we leave isn't her fault. Why would we plant a cockroach in our own food? She was very rude and wouldn't give us our money back. This place is disgusting. read more
