    Bone in prime rib

I love Machi's and their menu is so scrumptious with so many fun things to try. Having said this, I can't seem to stay away from the perfectly executed Bone in Prime Rib, enough to feed an army but hey...there is a warmth to Machi's that make you feel cozy and content. Great service usually happens at a great restaurant and no exception here. We brought fabulous wine, paid a reasonable corkage fee and all was well in the universe. I look forward to the next time...

Great find in Elko! A mile off I-80 and well worth it! Great prices, service! Good wine list. Fun!

The prime is amazing! The dipping sause for it is delicious. I also tried the ribs. They are on Thursdays. They are slow cooked & the meat pulls off the bone. Both come with house salads. Servers are great! The environment is up beat. Highly recommend it!

We are a fifth wheel family traveling from CA to CO and we looked up reviews for Machi's. It was one of the highest rated places to eat in Elko. We really needed a family friendly restaurant & I'm so grateful they sat us! Everyone loved their plates, generous servings, great prices, great quality, staff was SUPER nice, and it was very clean. 10/10 recommend. If you're coming through they do have a big parking lot across the front of their restaurant. Ps. My husband ordered a jack & coke and he said it was really good and pretty strong

The staff consisting of all women is stellar. They are running this packed establishment like a well oiled machine. After a long day of driving, we stopped here and enjoyed a few appetizers and drinks. The food was good. The drinks were outstanding. Would I stop here again? No. It is poor business practice to isolate and potentially offend new customers. The MAGA hat over the bar upon arrival was disconcerting. Being sat under this framed image to eat my dinner, was insulting. I am very much aware of what region of the country I am in and behave respectfully. ENOUGH

Long road day on the tail end of a ten day road trip. 11 1/2 hours and 738 miles since we got in the car this morning. Four states later we're tired and hungry. Looking for a place where the locals go. Here. It's only 5:30PM and we're thinking we're ahead of the crowding curve. Not so. Restaurant filled. My husband says to the server, "Do folks eat early in Elko or is it always busy here?" The answer is, "Both. We have daily specials and everyone likes them so much they come early to be sure we don't run out before they get here." With an intro like that, must order the special. On Monday it's long bone beef short ribs with smashed potatoes and braised carrots. We wait for the allegedly irresistible while sipping an incredible lemon drop. I didn't hear any complaints from Sapphire Gin & Tonic man. But we're both road destroyed. We have to eat to know 1) if we're out of the car yet, and 2) that this place is really *that* good. It is delicious. We can easily see why on Mondays, at least, folks beat feet here. I couldn't plow through that much meat, as tender and flavorful as it was. I might've salted a bit more but that's a personal preference thing and these were easily the most meaty and tasty short ribs I've had. So - do I go for the trifecta? I've imbibed. I've eaten plentifully. Do I order the carrot cake made from the 80 year old secret recipe? What kind of question is that?! Of course I do. The secret carrot cake (which the owner's wife makes, and then the servers text her for more when they need it) is served warm. It's kind of a cross between carrot cake and bread pudding. Super moist and dense with a glaze on top reminiscent of sassafras and served with a dollop of whipped cream cheese frosting on top. Not what I was expecting but then again I wasn't expecting a crowd at 5:30PM or that I'd order short ribs. Both of those things happened and it all worked out great. So did the carrot cake. Service friendly and efficient. Good recommendations. Kinda cool to see the barkeeps dash out from behind their territory to help seat and serve while they continued to make drinks and serve dinner to those eating at the bar. That's how a fam operation works. I've chronicled most of the food on this road trip and every time we've stopped at a local place, followed the local trail, we were well pleased. And we were this time, too.

January 5th, Birthday dinner :) Wow , I ordered the Rib Eye,…read moremedium rare. The steak was cooked to perfection and was seasoned really nicely with sautéed onions and mushrooms . I was served a dinner salad, broccoli raab and the most amazing pancetta macaroni and cheese, YUM! The steak was the largest piece of meat EVER! I could only eat half. All for 42$ My husband had the seared tuna on a bed of pasta with lobster sauce. His meal was also cooked correctly and seasoned and flavored. Our server was attentive and answered questions regarding the food and beverages, we had a bottle of Chianti most excellent. The atmosphere was fancy enough to feel Special but not pretentious. We did not have reservations and even though the place appeared to be full, we were seated right away. I highly recommend a meal from Luciano's.

May 2026 Elko, N…read more Hmmmmm . . . 3.0 stars. Here is why. Arrived a little after 5 pm on a Friday. Two tables were already sitting. The hostess sat us in a separate room from the main dining room. It was hit brightly by the sun and felt like a second thought of leftover dining. Asked if we could sit in main dining room and she obliged. We asked about the menu and took time to review it. After some time we ordered. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered the PASTA MILANO which is described as: Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce over Penne Pasta. Sounds good right? It could have been good. But it was not. First of all, I never got chicken in the dish. The mushrooms were diced and very few in the dish. The only thing they got right was the tomatoes. I called the waitress over and told her that my dish had no chicken in it. She said well do you want some? I smiled and said well that's what the dish was supposed to come with. So I waited. Then I decided to go ahead and start eating my food because seven minutes went by and I still have no chicken. When the dish was originally served,, I asked the waitress for Parmesan cheese. She said we don't have Parmesan cheese, but we have black pepper. Huh???? of course you have Parmesan cheese. I have it on my Caesar salad. I really don't think she knew what Parmesan cheese was. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my food. Again, great concept. But the food had NO flavor. I added salt and pepper. Still nothing. I took the balsamic vinegar that was on the table and added it to the dish. There, I finally had flavor in my meal. But still no chicken. Finally, another waitress brings out a plate of squiggly worm like meat. She said, did somebody order chicken at this table? I was disgusted. First of all, it was not pleasant to see it look like that. Also, you should've offered to remake my meal, or at least take it back and mix it with the chicken. But to make me wait until my dishes is half gone and then bring over a plate of chicken is a poor decision. The chicken fettuccine had a good flavor. But the chicken was tough. Hard to chew. Not good flavor. I ordered a n/a Heineken. She brought it in a glass to the table. It was already poured so I don't know if I truly got what I ordered. Also the glass was too large for the amount of beer that was in it. Makes it look like it was half a drink. The waitress was kind, but we did not see much of her. She never offered to refill our bread basket. According to the menu, you get two baskets of bread and then if you want more you have to pay. We only got one basket of bread and never offered anymore. I was looking forward to some good pasta, and this restaurant did not deliver. Very disappointed in the service, and most definitely the food. The waitress took five dollars off of our meal, but she never explained why she did it or why she decided to take that amount of money. She never apologized for my dish, not having any protein, she never apologized for any thing. Management needs to teach staff that they can take ownership of the situation. It is OK to say you are sorry that the chicken was not put in your dish. Let's see what we can do to make it right. That would have gone so far. Instead, it left my attitude about this place as tough as the chicken in the fettuccine was.

So it was pretty solid 5 stars on my covid rating. I try not to bee too harsh with casino coffee shops. I am not expecting gourmet cuisine and 5-star white glove service - especially in rural Nevada old time casino coffeeshops. Normally I would have given this a solid 4 stars after we were greeted seated and brought coffee (which was amazingly good) and huge glasses of orange juice that tasted pretty close to the real thing. It kind of went down-hill after that. My husband and I both ordered traditional Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce with a side of hash browns. Now if there is one thing casino coffee shops uasually get right it is hash browns. Apparently not here. Our plates we loaded up with barely beige shredded potatoes that were not crispy not buttery, not salty, and definitely not cooked through. The Eggs Benedict did not fare a whole lot better. The "Hollandaise" was a gelatinous blob of bright orange something with a texture that resembled Velveeta with none of the flavor. The poached eggs were the best part - firm whites and runny yolks, She let us know there was a delay in the kitchen but our food would be out soon. The service would have been enough to bump this up to 4 stars. However, once we were served, she were done. When she brought our check and took away our plates with the meal half eaten, she did not ask if everything was alright. She said she would be our cashier. After waiting 10 minutes for her to come back we just left the money on the table. I am very disappointed by the level of service and the quality of the meal with should have been better - even by casino coffee shop standards.

Our server was extremely kind and explained the menu, process, and local favorites The Pico Punch had a touch of Vicks 44, but that's exactly what it should taste like. The quantities are huge. Cabbage soup broth was delicious. Italian bread would be better if warmed, but still good. The salad was robustly tossed and the dressing had a nice touch of garlic. The steak sandwich was tender and had an excellent marinade/flavor. Fries: very greasy and not their finest moment. We have family in Iowa and this all felt similar: Midwest friendliness, warmth, and good food. We were leaving at 445 and the line had grown to 20 for dinner! Appeared to be locals/regulars. As another noted, yes, there are brothels just down the street. Hey, it adds to the local charm!
