Ribeye, fries, vegetables..sautéed mushrooms & spicy prawns (not shown) cooked perfectly!

Had dinner there for the first time after years of driving past it.. Upon entering the wood interior and calm ambiance. Wait was not long to be seated. Food was ordered and the wait was like 20 mins. Nice and quiet to where a decent conversation can be had. Food was served very hot/warm. Wait staff was awsum and very friendly Definitely a place i am going to visit again

Special: orzo pasta, garbanzo bean, and salmon salad.

We had dinner at Pine Lodge tonight and it was incredible. The location is beautiful and never disappoints. But the food stole the show tonight. Irelee, the head chef, outdid herself. I had the special orzo pasta, garbanzo bean, and salmon salad and it was fantastic. The mac and cheese was to die for. My husband had the special pita appetizer but I didn't get a picture of it. We had friends we ran into there that had the rib eye and the cod and they said both were delicious. The restaurant was busy, but the staff worked hard and were super helpful and pleasant all night. We will definitely be back!!

Father in law took us here for a Friday dinner. I will say my first time here was a pleasant one. The atmosphere was great with all the deco which kept out 2 year old entertained as she loved to look at everything. We were seated promptly, went over the specials and got our drinks pretty quickly. Order came in a about 20 minutes in which is great. We had three filet meals and one prime rib. All items were cooked as asked. Everything tasted great too. Drinks were on par. Waitress and helpers were really helpful throughout and always took care of anything in need. The pricing is a but heavy but that's all I can say was not great. Will be back again.

In reading reviews from others, one needs to know the style and intent of the place. People looking for sophisticated, fancy meal will be disappointed. People looking for a family style meal, with the warm and engaging people, with honest, real, good food, will be thrilled. We were there for a late lunch. Our server was extremely kind and explained the menu, process, and local favorites The Pico Punch had a touch of Vicks 44, but that's exactly what it should taste like. The quantities are huge. Cabbage soup broth was delicious. Italian bread would be better if warmed, but still good. The salad was robustly tossed and the dressing had a nice touch of garlic. The steak sandwich was tender and had an excellent marinade/flavor. Fries: very greasy and not their finest moment. We have family in Iowa and this all felt similar: Midwest friendliness, warmth, and good food. We were leaving at 445 and the line had grown to 20 for dinner! Appeared to be locals/regulars. As another noted, yes, there are brothels just down the street. Hey, it adds to the local charm!

May 2026 Elko, N…read more Hmmmmm . . . 3.0 stars. Here is why. Arrived a little after 5 pm on a Friday. Two tables were already sitting. The hostess sat us in a separate room from the main dining room. It was hit brightly by the sun and felt like a second thought of leftover dining. Asked if we could sit in main dining room and she obliged. We asked about the menu and took time to review it. After some time we ordered. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered the PASTA MILANO which is described as: Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce over Penne Pasta. Sounds good right? It could have been good. But it was not. First of all, I never got chicken in the dish. The mushrooms were diced and very few in the dish. The only thing they got right was the tomatoes. I called the waitress over and told her that my dish had no chicken in it. She said well do you want some? I smiled and said well that's what the dish was supposed to come with. So I waited. Then I decided to go ahead and start eating my food because seven minutes went by and I still have no chicken. When the dish was originally served,, I asked the waitress for Parmesan cheese. She said we don't have Parmesan cheese, but we have black pepper. Huh???? of course you have Parmesan cheese. I have it on my Caesar salad. I really don't think she knew what Parmesan cheese was. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my food. Again, great concept. But the food had NO flavor. I added salt and pepper. Still nothing. I took the balsamic vinegar that was on the table and added it to the dish. There, I finally had flavor in my meal. But still no chicken. Finally, another waitress brings out a plate of squiggly worm like meat. She said, did somebody order chicken at this table? I was disgusted. First of all, it was not pleasant to see it look like that. Also, you should've offered to remake my meal, or at least take it back and mix it with the chicken. But to make me wait until my dishes is half gone and then bring over a plate of chicken is a poor decision. The chicken fettuccine had a good flavor. But the chicken was tough. Hard to chew. Not good flavor. I ordered a n/a Heineken. She brought it in a glass to the table. It was already poured so I don't know if I truly got what I ordered. Also the glass was too large for the amount of beer that was in it. Makes it look like it was half a drink. The waitress was kind, but we did not see much of her. She never offered to refill our bread basket. According to the menu, you get two baskets of bread and then if you want more you have to pay. We only got one basket of bread and never offered anymore. I was looking forward to some good pasta, and this restaurant did not deliver. Very disappointed in the service, and most definitely the food. The waitress took five dollars off of our meal, but she never explained why she did it or why she decided to take that amount of money. She never apologized for my dish, not having any protein, she never apologized for any thing. Management needs to teach staff that they can take ownership of the situation. It is OK to say you are sorry that the chicken was not put in your dish. Let's see what we can do to make it right. That would have gone so far. Instead, it left my attitude about this place as tough as the chicken in the fettuccine was.

They didn't wanna wait till even Wendover, cause there might not be any good food way out there. OK, so, I pull into the Gold Dust West. I've stopped here before and I do like the food they have at the Grill coffee shop inside the casino. We get seated and drink orders taken. You know I do notice a sandwich on the menu I never had before. It's the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Usually I'd think grilled cheese was a boring sandwich you order for kids or something. But I saw it had bacon and tomato in it. You do have you choice of cheese (besides American) and choice of bread. I got it on sourdough and cheddar cheese along with onion rings ($2.00 extra). I couple of my crew got the same but with fries. The other girl on the crew got the Cali Omelet. Our food arrives and I'm surprised at the heft of the grilled cheese on sourdough. I bite in and wow, this is pretty damn tasty! It's not what I expected at all, better! The other guys liked it too and said they'd get this sandwich again. OK, I was impressed with this new grilled cheese and I think they have it at all the other Gold Dust west locations in Reno and Carson City. Portion sizes for his sides, however, were generous and satisfying. I went with the penne alla vodka but received penne with marinara instead. While the garlic bread was decent, I missed the creamy, robust vodka sauce that was promised. - Service: A little on the slow side, though staff were polite once they arrived at the table. Overall, the food was decent, but not quite on target. We're planning to give them another try for breakfast -- here's hoping that meal hits closer to the mark.

I paid the tab totaling $118 directly to the owner Tarah and left a $10 tip at that time. That employee--then loudly yelled across the restaurant that if I was "going to tip that shitty," I should "take my kids with me." As I exited--loud to all patrons--she continued stating that she "knows I make enough money to tip better," while pointing toward my children and continuing to make disparaging remarks. The remainder of our group had offered to leave a cash tip on the table ($20 was on the table). The order itself was simple and not excessive. The $10 tip left at the register on my debit card was intended to be in addition to the cash tip from the group. Publicly disclosing a gratuity amount, using profane language, making comments regarding a customer's perceived income, and directing remarks toward or about my children in a public setting is unprofessional and unacceptable. Due to the conduct of the staff member, I instructed them not to leave the additional cash tip and to leave the restaurant. This was a deeply disappointing experience, particularly given my family's long history of patronage at this establishment.
