This is our second trip to RMFC. After a gruelling race at the Canmore Nordic Centre and a bit of a chill in the air their soup of the day - potato/cauliflower with signature flatbread was a remarkable starter. We finished with gelato ( Fiasco's - Thanks James Boetchner) paired with a delicious liqueur. We have sat at the bar near their huge oven both occasions and the service stellar. This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and we enjoyed it far more than expected. Our server was friendly and attentive, he offered great recommendations of activities to do in the area. This is our fav place in Canmore to grab a meal! Lunch or Dinner at RMFB cannot be beat. Prices are fantastic, food is even better. The specials they have on during the Uncorked festival are also amazing. (Usually 3 courses with wine pairing for under $50). The interesting daily specials are also worth noting. Cannot sing enough praise. - Service is always friendly and fast, we've never had to wait for a table, and the garage door style window/walls, gives a patio feel during the summer months. Also, is it weird that I love the way I smell after leaving? The stone oven fills the entire restaurant with that fresh baked scent that clings to your clothes long after you've left - but in a good way. Its also worth mentioning, that this place is very family friendly. We do not have children ourselves. But the family/child area they have set up near the washrooms keeps the young ones content and busy instead of confining them to their seats and hoping for the best. Its not a huge place so a disgruntled child would be noticed, but it has never been an issue during our visits. We recommend this place to everyone who visits Canmore, and will continue to do so! Great food and service, and a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the combo 8-inch flatbread with a salad (can also opt for a soup). With an appetizer, I think this option could comfortably feed 2 - the "small" salad is pretty sizable. The basil and blackberry salad was delicious and the forno fired flatbread is an amazing appetizer, by far my favorite dish of everything we ordered. A nice selection of local beers on tap too. Hard to rate this place. I ususally rate a little higher in a resort area, but there is a limit. On the plus side, the service was good and the crust was fairly crisp. No other redeeming features. Crust made worse by the addition of maple syrup. Sauce insipid.. Pepperoni better than other toppings, but not good. hard to think of a more tasteless pizza. Definitely two steps down from slices in New York's Penn Station. On the other hand, the people next to us seemed to like it. read more

Pros: Wow, LOVED the food - so delicious! We ordered the GF (yay, they have GF!) smoked salmon flat-bread, and it was Amahzing! Then we had the Parma GF pizza, also great! GF Beer was pretty awesome, as was the rootbeer and sangria (yum!) Cons: Price is a bit expensive to start with, plus $4 extra for GF, ouch! They also can't do GF pizzas in large, but that's understandable considering most places can't do that, however it does raise the price. Overall: Definitely recommend - while it's a bit expensive for pizza, it's worth it at least to go once during a visit to Canmore :D Bonus - they are very environmentally conscientious! read more

This was a last minute choice for dinner after looking at a neighboring brewery menu and not being excited by options. SO glad - this meal was amazing! I personally shared the Caprese Salad and then had the Maple Bacon Mac and Cheese - WOOOOW. I will say the Mac and Cheese is so rich that it's probably better a shared dish, but wow was it amazing. Fresh, homemade pizza that's actually not unhealthy for you. They have a great selection of pizzas, pastas and appys and they take a chance by constantly updating the menu and specials. Whenever we are in Canmore we always make a point to stop and try something new on the menu...and were always sure to order way too much so we have to take some home as well. The only problem I had was with the 1% "carbon tax" that was added to our bill??? If it was more then 43 cents then I might have protested....but meh read more

This is a great place with good gluten free options. Organic local fare and healthy meals for kids, we really enjoyed our meal here with our 1 year old. Even the menus are printed on recycled paper and a % of the proceeds goes towards green education. read more

Very good food! I had a regular size Farmers Market pizza (tomato, red pepper, onion, spinach, feta cheese, and basil past). The best pizza I ever have had was the one in New York, but their pizza was as good as it! My mother-in-law is celiac and they serve a decent gluten-free pizza. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I didn't want readers to think I was just whining. Was in town for a wedding, this place had good reviews so 5 of us went. We got there at 8:30 pm. I was worried because they closed at nine they may not want to take another table. They did seat us, but refused to put his seat on an end of the table so five of us could sit together. The hostess who was cold and aloof said that the server wouldn't be able to get through, now I don't know what the codes are in Canmore but the wait staff could've easily gotten around with a chair in between two tables. We sat at different tables and when another table left we just moved over. Before my husband and I moved over to join our family we had a very nice waitress, not so with the one at the other table. My complaint would be that when you tell people that they can have and infused oil and some other things for dipping with their pizza that you should mention what cost extra and what is free. Since it is a tourist town a comment that it stated on the menu does not suffice when you get your check and there's that six dollar and50 charge for a quarter cup of a dip. We had one flat bread pizza and two regular pizzas. The tomato sauce on the flat bread pizza had no seasoning in it it was flat in flavor. The other ingredients just did not have a lot of flavor or they don't know how to season food to bring the flavors out. The flavor of the flatbread itself was pretty tasteless, that's why I said yes to the creamy garlic dipping sauce, that's why cost $6.50 for a quarter cup. We started with a salad and what I can tell you is that the ingredients were at room temperature and I've never had a salad served completely at room temperature at least not a green leafy salad. I know I'm skipping around so bear with me, the waitresses and hostess, except for the initial waitress who waited on us who I remember had tattoos on her forearm, we're all pretty much not engaged or interested in us as a customers. We were there on Monday, June 18. So I would say the food was mediocre at best, they need to do some work on seasoning, and their waitstaff need to be talk to about just being friendly or even pretending to be a little bit engaged with the customer. read more

One of the best pizza I have tried. We picked this based on Yelp and were really happy we did. Ambience is low key and it was too crowded. However we got table quickly. Ordered various appetizers and pizzas. The best one was their Farmers Market pizza loaded with lots of fresh organic vegetables and beet roots. We arrived late into Canmore, so decided to do take-out and bring the pizza to our hotel. I had a GF Genoa which was perfect. Love the thin crust. One of the teens had a BBQ chicken which she enjoyed. The men had the meaty pizza, which they were disappointed it didn't have more meat. Flavours were delicious. Love the ethics of the company. My wife and I shared the large chicken apple flat bread and a hot brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. As delicious and perfectly wood fired as the pizza was the brownie over shadowed it. Worst service ever, and I didn't even eat here. I wish I could tell you how this place is but we never got in the door. After being told by a very rude employee we couldn't sit at the empty seats at the bar it would be an hour wait. My husband and I decided we would wait as this place had pretty good reviews. We take a 10 minute walk around the block to stretch our legs after a 5 hour drive to get there. Upon our return we are told that because we left they scratched our names off the list and we would have to put our names back on the list and the wait would be again an hour!
