Aardvark saved my life when I was dying from hunger. I flew in from the United States for my annual trip to Banff. This time around, I didn't get to Banff until about 11 PM. Seeing several restaurants open on Google Maps, I walked to each one, down the line. They were all closed. I didn't eat since breakfast that day and with the local grocery store closed too, I thought I was going to pass out. The hostess from Canadian Brew House down the street mentioned my choices were Aardvark, Domino's, and Subway. No offense to Subway or Domino's but when I travel, I don't eat at chain restaurants. I'm so glad Aardvark was open! I ordered a 9" Aardvark pizza (pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and black olives. They made it fresh to order and I got it within 10 minutes. It definitely hit the spot!

We were recommended to check out this place for an easy quick bite by our driver, who is local to the area. As we were waiting for our food, a lot of locals came in and the owners knew them by their name and their regular order which for me, says a lot about the service and the quality of food since they keep coming back. Our poutine was very fresh and delicious. We came back a few times to try their pizza and sauces which were also delicious.

While the quaint little town of Banff might not be the right place to take your five young grandchildren that have been stuck in a car for hours, we needed to find them some lunch. Aardvark pizza to the rescue !! Had a delicious hot pizza ready in no time to feed the crew. They were ready to see the beautiful National Park with full bellies. Thanks again !!

I got food poisoning from the veggie pizza, so beware! I'm still giving this place 2 stars because I enjoyed my slice of pepperoni pizza and I love the convenience of this place's hours. The slice of veggie pizza was probably sitting there for far too long and it was the only slice that my friends didn't try. (I was the only one that ended up getting food poisoning). Their made-to-order pizzas were delicious though, so I'm willing to give this place another shot for something that hasn't been sitting the in "Hot" section haha.

Great food and friendly staff. Premade slices don't look the best but the made to order pizza and house made ranch are great. Nice look inside but very limited option to dine in.

I ordered a small pizza from this place and it showed up to my door looking like what's in the picture. I would not even take a bite of this the way it was delivered. Can't comment on the taste as I didn't even take a bite.

This is GOOD pizza. Love the thick crust- fluffy and crispy. Sauce was good. Bacon pieces were real bacon. Fast & free delivery. Good prices. Ordered a few times while here.

It's 1am and you're feeling f'n hungry...this place is pure heaven. It's an oasis for the late night eater. Honestly I'd eat there any time of the day but it was the greatest thing to hit my lips in that moment. Just go there...eat anything. It's all freaking good!

The plate featured two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, sourdough toast with blackberry jam, crispy potatoes, and the best bacon I've ever tasted. The fruit bowl was just as fresh and vibrant, with oranges, Granny Smith apples, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding; an ideal way to start the day in the mountains.

They even took the time to get me gluten-free bread to eat with the beat hummus since I couldn't eat whatever bread that is served with it For me, it's important that since they already have gluten-free products that they could just substitute it that way so I could enjoy my meal and not get sick I found them to be exceptionally accommodating for me Everything was delicious I like the fire pit outside good place to wait for your table to open I like that they take your cell phone number and you can walk around and they'll text you when your table is ready so this way you don't feel like you're wasting any time My nephew got the duck that was delicious my sister got the steak sirloin. It was also delicious and had little tiny mini salt crystals on it which gave it a lot of flavor. My only slight disappointment was the choice of background music. It had too much of a 12345678 up beat to it. When they play music with this kind of a tempo, you can definitely see all of the waiters and waitresses walking to the beat of the music, but I think it also rushes people in eating and digestion. It makes people hurry up because you could literally see people chewing to the beat of the music I don't even know if the Restaurant realizes the psychology behind the choice of music But overall, I enjoyed everything I came there to eat and everything tasted good for me. I just would've had a different choice to music preference

We ordered to share: Bison carpaccio: 8/10, the large pieces of black salt(?) was overwhelming the bison, but otherwise very unique and worth trying Burrata salad: 100/10, super refreshing and unique palate of thinly ribboned squash covered with tarragon vinaigrette and burrata. Smoked trout doughnut: 8/10, interesting combination of sweet (donut, lemon glaze) and savory (smoked trout, herbed Crème Fraîche, everything bagel seasoning, pickled shallot) Individually: Strip sirloin: I didn't have this one but 10/10 for work of art presentation. Huge piece of steak though. Roasted chicken: 9/10 myself and one other got the chicken. Tender and well seasoned with sweet and spicy harissa honey glaze and chili crisps. It looked like they gave half a whole chicken to her and the other half to me, huge portions. Probably could've been 3 meals. Peyto's ribs: 9/10 had to get it for the touch of maple paprika. Seared ling cod: 9/10 it's the only portion that remotely made sense for a single person and didn't end with leftovers. The dimly lit atmosphere at Brazen is perfect to unwind in after a long day of hiking and exploring. The portions are generous and flavor profile recommendations between appetizers, mains, and drinks well explored. Highly recommend making an advance reservation to try!

The assistant manager/host was so awesome and attentive. My mom struggles with GI issues and is intolerant to a lot of things -- he did his best to communicate with the chef and our server to create a dish that would be more akin to what my mom could eat. I got the beef & bison meatballs and a side of cornbread. As well as an unleaded espresso martini. Delish! Interior is swanky and dim, but has great big windows that give a lovely view of downtown Banff.

We then shared a Waldorf salad, which was refreshing and nice. Then we both selected red wine varietals grown in Canada. I had a Cabernet/Merlot blend which was super great. Would've never guessed it was from Canada. Next, My wife enjoyed a Pinot Noir that was light and complimented our entrée perfectly. Our entrée was the fillet and prawns served over a garlic mashed potato. This is an absolutely extraordinary dish. We shared it and it was just enough for two people. It is a full meal for one person. The filet temperature preparation was perfect. The prawns were extraordinary, and the garlic mashed potato made you curl your toes! Then we closed the evening with the melted chocolate soufflé, which was divine. Here's the one thing that they missed and to me it's an important miss. They use an automated system for taking reservations. And it kept asking for my name to which I said "Chris" and the automated system kept asking me what's your name!? So it asked hey fourth time and in my frustration I got playful and I said "Big Daddy." And it happily received my name and took my reservation. And then asked if there was any special occasion and I said yes my wife and I are celebrating our anniversary. I get that it may not seem normal to say "Big Daddy party for two". So I'll kind of let that pass because neither front door or upstairs Host was willing to ask. But what I don't like that was missed was our anniversary wasn't acknowledged. I was a server for years, and every host gave the server some type of chit or note to let them know if there is a special occasion. We specifically selected a higher end restaurant for anniversary. So somewhere in there, even if you weren't brave enough to say "Big Daddy for two." Someone still should've checked if you were celebrating any special occasion to which we were. Our anniversary. Our server was fabulous. She was super kind helpful and shared about her experience being in Banff. She made us feel great. My overall experience, the Mapleleaf is a great restaurant. But I'm scoring you an A- because you missed our anniversary. and that's why we chose you. So if you're going to use AI, you can't miss special occasions. Chris & Trisha from Long Beach, CA
