    Espresso Martini
    Traci D.

My favorite place to dine at while in Banff! The people of Banff are just so nice and welcoming! We sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious espresso martini with tequila (personal preference) and shared a pizza and salad. We ordered the Simple Green Salad and The Local pizza. What can I say? When in Canada make sure you put some maple on it?! The maple toasted sunflower seeds in the salad was a nice touch *chefs kiss* and maple syrup on the fennel and bacon pizza *drool*! I wish we had time and an appetite to try all the pizzas. I would definitely recommend making this one of your dining stops! 10/10 would recommend!

Nice service and cute space but I was not impressed with the "local" pizza (meat and maple syrup). The crust tasted like it came out of a residential oven and I found the pizza dry. The "fried garlic bread" was far greasy for me (but my husband said it was just slightly too greasy).

Came for dinner after a day of hiking to a packed restaurant on Sunday night (about 30 min wait for a walk-in) and had a great experience. To start, we had the fried garlic bread with tomato sauce ($17, great) and the three cheese stuffed Arancini ($13, good), and for mains we had the pesto pizza with sunflower seeds ($27, excellent) and the gnocchi bianca ($26, great). Our server was very accommodating of substitutions we requested. The Earl's Pale Ale from Born Brewing was a nice beer to go along with the meal.

We ate here twice on our trip. Menu is marked gluten free. There is gluten free brioche, pizza and pasta. The gluten free pizza was good--nothing impressive and the edges were overcooked/burnt. They also forgot my vegan cheese the first time and when I sent my pizza back, I got my pizza back with barely any cheese on it. That's pretty disappointing when you're already paying an upcharge for gluten free crust and for vegan cheese. My husband got the gnocchi Bianca (substituted gnocchi for gluten free pasta) and he added Italian sausage. He enjoyed it. He also ordered the gluten free brioche. He liked it (3/5) but was a little dense. We really enjoyed the medjool date appetizer. Very small portion size (4 for $14). I ordered the gluten free bolognese on our second visit. I do not recommend. The red sauce tasted like tomato sauce out the can. It was not good. Service was okay. We had the same waitress both times and it often seemed like she was confused and we had to keep clarifying our orders. Our friend ordered the regular focaccia and didn't care for it. He said it was like eating toast.

The best pizza and the pastas that we ever had! Strongly recommend to enjoy it when you visit Banff.

After a beautiful round of golf at Banff, my parents and I grabbed some pizzas at Una. We decided one the Tiki and Margherita Pies. The pizzas we great and filled my parents and I. The service was solid throughout too. 4 Stars!

Cute trendy place. Gourmet pizza seems to be their item, we also ate their burnt Brussel sprouts and gnocchi. Both shared items and tasty- the table Agreed the Brussel sprouts were the crispy tasty yummy kind of best ever eaten. Mushroom pizza was rated as second most delicious item. Third was the white Sangria! I should have purchased a pitcher, seriously sooo refreshing, I wanted MORE. The supreme meat pizza while savory and salty- was soggy in the middle from the roasted red peppers - juicy- that's fine. I used a fork. I think at this point I ate so much already that I was just being picky now since I am full. Service delightfully knowledgeable, fast, friendly, beautiful and handsome staff! Everyone quick to smile and seem allll in good moods! Are all Canadians happy? I'm a foreigner from the USA and I just loved eating in Banff!!! Ingredients seemed so fresh! People seemed internally radiating sunshine even in the dead cold of winter February, and the service fast! One thing I did learn--- you can NOT sit at the bar unless you get seated there by a host! It is considered a table seat. In America it's like a waiting area for a table, we stand around and drink while we start a tab and wait for a table- but in Canada you must go outside and wait like a civilized person -- the bar is seating. I was embarrassing myself thinking I was allowed to get drinks and stand around in the warm of all these tall Canadians and wait... go outside and wait like a good tourist! When in Canada do as the Canucks do!

We ordered the bucatini special and the 5 cheese pizza with honey (forgot the name of it). It was delicious! We went at a non-peak time during summer and didn't have to wait. This is a solid safe choice for dining in Banff!

    The veggie with pepperoni

YUM! My boyfriend brought back a veggie pizza with added pepperoni and it was phenomenal! There was a very mild sweetness to some of the bites. I'm not sure what it was but I really enjoyed it. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us in one sitting.

Deep fried garlic bread w marinara dipping sauce and Quattro carne pizza for the win!

Quick service, amazing food and cute atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop when in Banff. Servers were very kind and welcoming. Deep fried garlic bread...yes please!

We had Friday lunch here, got a table after 20 mins of wait. The place is in Downtown and is full of tourists. Tried the house Rose wine, it was good. Arancini was tasty, soft, and cheesy. Perfect appetizer. I liked the sautéed prawns as well, the sauce was light. The mushroom pizza was okay, lot of arugula on it, made it little bitter for my taste. The gnocchi was soft and the sauce was fresh and tasted good with the cheese! Service was prompt and food came in quickly. Food is expensive though, premium Italian quality!

    Gnocchi, olives and white sangria.

Nice outdoor seating area. Tasty food. I enjoyed the olives, the gnocchi and a lovely white sangria. Service was prompt and attentive. No trouble getting a table.

El toro salad was pretty good but not a lot of beetroot, 4/5. The calamari was rubbery and too salty, 2/5. Main we got the veg fajitas. They come in a sizzling skillet. The vegetables used were clearly frozen, it had beans, zucchini, carrots, baby corn, and peas. It was spicy but also very salty. For 27 bucks quite underwhelming. This was our last restaurant that we had the pleasure of visiting in Canmore, and we definitely ended up saving the best for last. I chose this restaurant as the spot to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday because I wanted it to be special and it definitely delivered! First off, the service at this spot is impeccable. They truly hire professional, genuine, skilled, and crafty people here who really care about food and the experience. It was very telling and we wanted to highlight that observation. Secondly, the cocktails. During our trip, we were lucky to have Josh as our bartender and not only did he truly know the ins and outs of the liquor and the ingredients that he used, you can tell that he has really perfected the craft at creating a beautifully presented cocktail, and this was already noticed by the way he cuts an orange. The cocktails here were basically like an art piece and had some of the most creative presentations I've ever seen. My cantaloupe island cocktail even had an herb popsicle in it and the after noon cocktail had mint sorbet incorporated into the presentation too, which was none like I've had before. Food-wise, they start you with a complimentary palette cleanser, which was a mini donut topped with fennel and caviar, which was exquisite and enhanced the experience. We then chose the foie gras, root salad, and mackerel as our smaller dishes and the duck and cod as our main course dishes. I swear to you.. each dish that we tried, we looked at each other in awe because we were baffled that something could taste that wonderful and look so aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Our favorite was the cod main course, which happened to be the newest menu item at the time. We also got the baked alaska for dessert since we wanted to complete the entire course, and that was beautifully presented and flavorful as well. The main chef/owner, Danny Beaulieu, and his team absolutely killed everything on this menu, and we were even able to meet with the owner and to speak with him during our visit here. It was a truly lovely experience and we are big time rooting for the restaurant's success. We are really thankful that we were able to experience Ankor and appreciate the love, care, and effort put into this spot. We will definitely see you again and hope to be back soon! :)

The wait staff was pleasant knowledgeable and accommodating. We were in a large party so we had a semi private dining area. Their specialty cocktails were great and very appealing to the eye in regard to the presentation upon delivery to the table. Very well put together flavour notes hit. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect for socializing so no complaints there. We did have a large party which probably pushed the kitchen staff a bit because some of the plating of a few dishes came out and were not complete ( 2out3 dishes came missing some plating components) when we made a comment to the waiter he went to investigate. They realized the issue and made a course correction on our bills which was appreciated. I hade the pork chops and I'll say the plating presentation was good but the quality of the the chops not so much, now I've worked in the industry in the past so I usually give a wide birth when it comes to the doneness of my proteins. But these were over cooked or seemed to have been cooked from a frozen state because they were dry as an Alberta summer. Not to mention tough and for that reason is why I'm only giving a 3 out of 5. Pork chops should be cooked through but full of juice these definitely missed the mark. The other components of the dish were great cooked proper with a perfect balance of seasoning. I'd come stop in again if I was in town but I'd probably wouldn't get the chops again.
