So happy I got a reservation after being recommended to dine here when visiting. This place is amazing! My fiance and I are so impressed by the dishes. Upon entering, it's super aesthetic. You can walk up the stairs or take the elevator. The vibe is so cute and it's perfect for any celebration. Our server was great on recommendations, especially with drinks. Onto the food! Little gem Caesar: amazing. Perfect crunch and perfect portion. 5/5 Uncle Morty: wow... highly impressed. Pistachio on pizza? Game changer. We brought half home, cause we wanted to try it. 5/5 Carbonara: this was my fiancé's favorite. Texture was perfect and the ingredients. Fire ! so yes 7/5 I wish I had room for dessert cause everything was so amazing. I want to go back. Highly recommend!
I stumbled upon Lupo while searching Google for a nice dinner restaurant in Banff. Sorry Yelp, but, hardly anyone uses you in Alberta. They are located upstairs in the Cascade Shops. They seemed like they were separate from the mall with no direct access to the mall itself. Reservations were made about a month in advance. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. We ordered their seafood linguine and their halibut. The halibut was their fish of the day. The halibut was cooked in their Josper oven which kept the fish moist. The seafood linguine was full of shrimp, scallop, crabmeat and clams. My wife really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that their portions were a little small. Service was good. Our waiter was nice and tried making conversation with us. He kept our glasses full and checked up on us. It would be five stars if only they gave a little more.
We came here for our first dinner after we landed so of course we were starving! We got a gorgeous table with a beautiful view of the outside on the second floor- perfect table to celebrate my mom's anniversary! We ordered- Margherita 3.5- pizza is pizza, but the crust was good but the pizza was a little bit too salty for our liking. Pesto Campanelle 4.5/5- surprisingly this was so good! I didn't think it would hit the spot, because I'm very picky when it comes to pesto, but we were basically licking the plate! The sauce was so good and also paired perfectly with the complimentary bread! I understand why a lot of tourists say this is the place to go! Unfortunately we didn't get to try any of the cocktails, but I'm assuming they're just as great!
This place is wonderful! I'd 100% recommend stopping in the food is delicious and fresh. The ambiance is wonderful as well we sat on the patio but the inside is very nice as well, very clean. Pasta is made fresh everyday and you can taste it. The lamb is also excellent, though we hadn't order any the pizza looks and smells fantastic planned on getting one to go just to try it but physically couldn't fit anymore food. One critic I would as is maybe adding an option for chicken for a protein to add to pasta, etc.
The service was spectacular. I don't think I caught our server's name, but I just know she's from Montreal. She gave me recommendations for bagel places to try in Montreal, and she was attentive throughout the meal. Our hostess actually gave us great pasta recommendations. I loved loved loved the pesto pasta. Both pastas we got were made perfectly, and it brought me right back to Italy. I also don't usually like tiramisu. It's something I will try one bite and not touch again just because I don't like the texture. But THIS tiramisu was phenomenal. I had at least 4 bites of it and that's really a lot for something creamy for my taste buds. We also got one to go for somebody else at home. So it was just amazing. The ambiance and everything actually reminded me of Italy to an extent. All the attention to detail was great. Only thing I can say is, maybe make the elevator darker inside and not so bright to match the rest of the restaurant, and also decorate those sad white walls and even the decor would be perfect.

We started with the Caprese salad. The cheese was so light and fluffy. Tomatoes fresh. Excellent. Pair this with the focaccia bread and you get a nice mix of textures. Loved the warm and crusty bread. Next came our entrees. I chose the pesto Campanella and husband had the Roseline which was rolled lasagna. We loved our meals. The noodles were perfect in mine, holding a bit of pesto sauce (but not too much) and a few pine nuts in every bite. So good. We skipped dessert because we were so full after the entree but the caramel dessert was catching my eye. Service was excellent. Our server helped us with menu ideas as well as hiking and site seeing ideas. The place was super busy, loud and full of energy. A small outdoor deck hosted some seating. We sat inside near the front windows. I liked that the tables were far enough away from each other that you didn't feel like you were dining with your neighbor. Great stop.
Great Italian restaurant in the banff area. Our favorite dish was the rolled lasagna. You know the best parts of a lasagna are the edges? This made sure every part of the pasta was the best part. We also enjoyed the margarita pizza. Staff was super friendly and service was fast. I would recommend reserving just in case for dinners as it got pretty packed when we went. Interior was also super cute and added to the vibes.
Get the pizza here!! We made a reservation late at night but were able to get seated a tad earlier when we arrived. The inside is massive and well decorated, and the ambiance is super nice. I got the diavola pizza, and my friends got the caccio e pepe, carbonara, and sausage pastas. I must say the pizza was by far the best - the flavor was so perfectly balanced of spicy sweet salty and tangy, and the sourdough crust was probably the best I've ever had. It was crispy yet chewy and fluffy, and the flavor was so delicious even on its own. Amongst the pastas, they were all good but nothing stood out to me too much. We also got the focaccia which was pretty good, but the pizza crust was even better. This was probably one of my favorite pizzas ever hence the 5 stars, but everything else I'd probably give 4.
Came here to celebrate my birthday and a successful century ride around Banff. Located on a second floor, the interior is mid-century modern style. They also have an outdoor patio. We didn't make a reservation ahead of time, so we joined the waitlist and walked around town until we received the text to come back (took about 40mins). While Lupo has a full bar and plenty of cocktails and wine, I went for the local draft beer. Service was pretty slow as they were still packed after the official closing hour, but the food was worth the wait. We ordered the spicy rigatoni alla vodka, spaghetti & spicy meatball, and Uncle Morty pizza. The pastas were cooked al dente and both sauces were solid. We were impressed by the Uncle Morty pizza. The sourdough crust had a great texture and added to the taste. The savory, slightly salty mortadella with the sweetness of truffle honey and the crunch of pistachios balanced wonderfully. Definitely a solid Italian spot I'd recommend!

For seating, you can sit outside or inside. Both have different vibes and you can't go wrong with either or! Spicy Rigatoni Alla Vodka 4/5 Has a nice spicy kick and the pasta was cooked perfectly! The pasta had a slight tarty tomato taste sauce. I wish it was a bit more creamy Herb Crusted Beef Tenderloin 4/5 the potatoes were super yummy! Potatoes were cookies smashed with a crispy edge. Mushroom sauce was a great addition to the dish. Only downside is the beef was a bit dry inside. Rigatoni Carbonara 5/5 the bacon brought the right saltiness to the pasta. Can't complain here! Service was a bit slow, we got seated at the same time with a couple next to us. The couple beside us got their food first, finished eating, and paid their bill. Whereas we were still waiting for our food to come out when they paid out. Our server paid more attention to other tables around and didn't fill up our waters etc. Each time we needed something we had to look and ask a different server for water, togo boxes, and the check.
We dined in at Lupo for my wife's birthday dinner after a long day in Banff. We didn't have a reservation so our table took roughly 40 minutes; we spent that time walking around downtown. The interior on the second floor is a typical modern casual Italian ambiance. Service was very friendly but the food took quite a while to get out and it took a long time between visits from our server to order and to get our cheque. We ordered the Uncle Morty pizza (5/5, the sourdough crust was great and the toppings were quality), spicy rigatoni alla vodka (4/5), and spaghetti and meatballs (4/5). The food was honestly all fairly solid; the pasta was cooked correctly, the sauces were tasty, and the pizza was better than expected. Value wise, it's on the more expensive end of food options in downtown but we overall enjoyed our meal.
This place was one of the key takeaways for food on our Banff trip! Order the Seafood Linguine and Caesar Salad with a Espresso Martini for a drink. You are very welcome! We came here on a whim to find a nice place to eat as we were on our way to Lake Louise. We walked around town to find a place to eat and my wife loves Italian, so we tried to walk in at about 6pm. Luckily for us, there was an open seat (reservation are highly recommended.. it was packed). We were greeted by the waiter who gave us the choice of sparkling or still water. Fancy schmancy. We got the still house water. The place was packed, full, and a bit loud, but also romantic given the atmosphere and the views. Good place to take a date, but not a good place if you wanted a private booth/moment. I ordered the seafood linguine, and my wife ordered the spicy rigatoni alla vodka. We also ordered the little gem caesar to share, and she also go the coffee martini for her drink. I got soda. The caesar came out and it was one of the best caesars I had. It was presented by having two baby heads of romaine lettuce covered with caesar dressing. Very tasty and creamy. Very very good! Next time, I am going to order one for just myself! Only eating one baby romaine head left me wanting more! After the salad, the pastas came out and the seafood linguine was remarkable! Presented as a bundle of linguini with seafood on the sides, all covered in white wine/clam sauce. One of THE BEST seafood linguines I have ever tried! My wife's spicy rigatoni was spicy and had a kick (I am Thai so take that for what it's worth). My wife thought it was a bit too spicy for her, but overall the dish was meh. Reminds me of the pasta alla vodka at Cheesecake Factory, but without the sausage. I do believe if there was an option to add sausage, the dish would've been 100x better. The dish just got bland the more you ate it. And because of this, I ended up eating the rigatoni, and my wife ate the linguini lol. Just kidding.. kinda. We shared our plates :) I highly recommend this place. The rigatoni was nothing special, but everything else was spectacular. We were even contemplating going back there on our drive home, but it opened at 4pm that day, and that was too late on our schedule to wait. Nevertheless, we'll be back again! read more
Came here the night before the Banff half marathon and we were very pleased with the food! Service was great even though they were disappointed we didn't order drinks. Great views upstairs, too. We got the focaccia and a salad to share, my friend liked her Agnolotti, and I loved my Mafaldine. Great flavor and quality. Large portions. Would be back. read more

The ambience here is absolutely stunning! It was easy to get a reservation through Open Table and there was a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Below are the dishes we ordered: scallop crudo -- absolutely delicious! The scallops were so fresh and the sauce was so yummy. Loved the crispies on top (potato?). This was my favorite dish from our visit! winter squash pizza -- this sounded so unique so we had to try it! It was flavorful, and the star was definitely the crust!! The pizza crust is the best I've ever had; it was perfectly airy and light! rigatoni carbonara -- the rigatoni was a bit undercooked and the guanciale was overcooked. Overall, we did not enjoy this dish and would not recommend it. We were a bit disappointed about the pasta but enjoyed the other two dishes we ordered! read more

Wow! Swept away in romance from the entrance to the desert. The baked oysters were the best I've had in my life. Crunchy top with a buttery sauce almost made me ordering a second plate. Pasta was phenomenal. A must, even if just for a drink at the bar! read more

Seemed like my carbonara sat under the heat lamp a little too long as the noodles and pork (bacon bits) were quite hard. Pasta was still very good even with that being said! Margherita pizza was great! Not much to say there! Service was great, very nice server! Restaurant is on a second floor like most restaurants in Banff, and has a nice patio with a good view! Overall I'd give this place a try if you're looking for good pasta! read more
Meeting the parents is always nerve wrecking but your parents meeting his parents? Double the nerves. But Lupo was the perfect setting to do so! We came for the happy hour that had lots of choices from pizzas to pastas and lots of yummy drinks. Service was excellent, ambiance is very lively, lots of other patrons, not the place of you wanted a more intimate/quiet setting. We were still able to talk and hear each other. Food was scrumptious, we shared everything family style! A huge shoutout to the manager at Lupo for helping me with my reservation. I only remembered to call in the day before and they did not have a reso for the time I initially wanted but they kept in touch with me if there were any cancellations and we got lucky! read more

Absolutely beautiful spot to eat at, but I wish I got to actually to eat in it. Unfortunately, you must make reservations in advance!! Try to book as EARLY as you can, and I don't mean days in advanced - WEEKS. I ordered ahead, walked there, and picked up my food within 15 mins of ordering, which was just perfect. I love getting in and out quick! The peeps who helped with my order were sweet. Pasta was bomb. It's the best seafood pasta I've ever had! So many pieces of seafood, each bite felt different. Definitely try it!! Not pictured, but mozzarella sticks are not worth it. They are good, but it's $14 for two big ones, but eh, I rather have a hotdog, fries, and a drink in the USA for less. Get the focaccia instead! read more

After a full day of touring and hiking around beautiful Banff, all we wanted was some amazing Italian food, and Yelp led us straight to Lupo. What a fantastic find! We were seated quickly despite not having a reservation, and everything from that point on was smooth, fast, and delicious. We shared the Squash Blossom (vegetarian) pizza, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Mafaldine Al Limone pasta was a standout -- rich, bright, and creamy, and we added broccoli for an extra crunch that worked beautifully. Every bite hit the spot. The drinks were equally impressive. The sangria was fruity and refreshing, and the Negroni was perfectly balanced. Service was warm, efficient, and just what we needed after a long day. If you're craving high-quality Italian in Banff, don't miss Lupo. We left happy, full, and already talking about coming back! read more

The service was amazing from the moment we got here. The background of Banff was amazing also. The food was amazing. You must get the Mozzarella Sticks, they were amazing. The main dishes were also awesome! We had the duck 5 star, the seafood linguine was also amazing, with a little kick on the spice. Everything was homemade, and you could taste it. Will definitely come back when we're in town!!! read more
We came here during happy hour from 4 to 5 PM since we couldn't secure a reservation online. They do take walk ins and have a waitlist for anyone who is flexible with their schedule. There was a line when we arrived as many people had the same idea but we got a table right away. During happy hour, they offer three different pasta dishes, five pizzas, and two antipasti dishes/salads. There was a great selection of discounted alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. I like the restaurant's decorations and ambiance. We ordered the frozen peach Bellini, vesuvian blossom, caprese salad, Roseline, and rigatoni Bolognese. The caprese salad was okay that needed a bit of salt. The happy hour pasta dishes were quite salty and both tasted almost the same to me. I saw some of their pizzas at other tables and they looked amazing. I would like to try one next time. The drinks were amazing, especially the frozen peach Bellini. It was fruity without being too sweet and didn't have a strong alcohol taste. read more

WOW. Lupo is a MUST try when in Banff! Their pasta and pizzas are so fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed some of their feature cocktails and wines. We did not expect to find amazing Italian food on this trip but Lupo delivered. read more
The restaurant is besutifully decorated and the service was great! I really enjoyed all of pasta that we got. It was seasoned perfectly, flavorful, al dente, and a good portion as well. The drinks were also good but a little too sweet in our opinion. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend for anyone visiting Banff read more
This place had the most amazing food. We had mixed reviews on it from locals, but decided to go check it out anyways. Thank God we did! Get the Caprese as an appetizer. One of the best I've had. Also, anything you order, add Burratta to it because their Burrata is so good and makes everything even more better! I added it to my spicy rigatoni pasta, and my mom had the pizza. When we first came in, they set us at a high top and we requested a low top which they were so gracious to let us switch tables. I felt bad because it also switched our waitress, but both of our backs were very uncomfortable on the high top tables. Atmosphere is OK. They do have a balcony that you can eat on, but it was really hot that day so we sat inside in the AC. If I went to Banff again, I would go here again. read more
The best happy hour around. A fab pizza with a unique and super flavorful sourdough crust, good (strong!) drinks, and one of the best Caesar salads I have had to date. We were too full to eat more but wish we could've because tables near us had an amazing looking vodka pasta and steak. I mean wow. One suggestion: give us a decent knife to cut the Caesar! This may have been the best Italian meal we've ever had anywhere, perhaps a top 5 meal of all time. We started with the spicy meatballs and caprese and both were excellent. The caprese was so fresh and light and the meatballs the perfect contrast, not too spicy. For the mains we had the agnolotti and roseline and both were out of this world. Kept going back and forth on what we liked more. Flavor explosions, creamy and rich filled pasta with the agnolotti; thered sauce in the roseline, with extra cheesy goodness, kind of like a sideways lasagna with ham...so good. And even though we were too full for dessert we had to try the tiramisu because we assumed (rightly) that it was going to be amazing and it was. Best we've ever had! Will make this a stop anytime we're in Banff, must visit! read more

I am so blown away with how many great restaurants Banff has and Lupo is no exception! This was some amazing Italian food. Very similar to the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. I had the sun and blood cocktail which was EXCELLENT. I highly recommend this if you like mezcal. 9.5/10 Our party of 6 had the following starters: -caprese salad: this was probably the low point in the meal for me. The burrata could have been better quality and the tomatoes could have been more flavorful. 6.5/10 -garden salad: this one floored me! This is one of the best salads I've ever had! It had a bright vinaigrette that really popped! The almonds were a lovely accompaniment. 9/10 -Cesar salad: the Cesar was anchovy forward which I like, my table did not like having to cut up the lettuce. But this was a very salads Cesar 7/10 -focaccia: the focaccia bread was great. Nice and light and airy. Well seasoned. Served with well seasoned olive oil. 8.5/10 -mushroom pizza: this was great! I love mushrooms so this was right up my alley. Great thin crust, great choice of cheeses. It was a lovely umami bomb. 8.5/10 I ordered the agnolotti and it was heavenly. The potato and raclette filling was very rich, and the truffle butter sauce only added to the richness, but it was the perfect dish to warm me up. I made several people try it at my table since they had never had agnolotti and they all said it was really good. 9/10 I also ordered the josper beets which were delicious. They had a smoky flavor that paired well with the pesto sauce. 8/10 We finished the dinner with tiramisu which was divine. Definitely recommend this dish! 9/10 Our server was very sweet, she was very attentive. The restaurant itself has a lively, nicer-casual vibe. It was a treat to eat here! read more

What a place. Fairly new spot. Beautifully crafted place. Server was so fun and kind. This was our first dinner spot, it was too good to not wait. Had Negronis to start then wine, had 3/4 apps, 2/3 pastas, carbonara could have had some more flavor. The dessert was also super yummy. Well established place. 100000% coming back. I'm so happy they could squeeze us in after Christmas so I can't really say anything about the service because it was super busy. It was insanely hard to get a waiters attention though. We got the seafood pasta and steak holiday special. The steak was horrible and $250. It was perhaps one of the worst steaks I've ever had in my life. It was chewy and the side had this unchewable tendon part. It was also insanely salty. The lobster fries were fried mac and cheese. I hate mac and cheese so I probably would have asked for a replacement or not gotten it if I had been told it was fried lobster mac and cheese to look like fries. The winter salad was amazing. I loved the arugula and squash together, sweet and salty. The seafood pasta had WAYYYY too much cheese. Like so much you the pasta was hard after about 3 seconds and it had this coating that sat at the back of my throat. It was also salty in a veryyyyy bad way. read more
