This February while in Banff, we decided to try Farm & Fire, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the classic breakfast with a side of fruit. The plate featured two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, sourdough toast with blackberry jam, crispy potatoes, and the best bacon I've ever tasted. The fruit bowl was just as fresh and vibrant, with oranges, Granny Smith apples, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. They even took the time to get me gluten-free bread to eat with the beat hummus since I couldn't eat whatever bread that is served with it For me, it's important that since they already have gluten-free products that they could just substitute it that way so I could enjoy my meal and not get sick I found them to be exceptionally accommodating for me Everything was delicious I like the fire pit outside good place to wait for your table to open I like that they take your cell phone number and you can walk around and they'll text you when your table is ready so this way you don't feel like you're wasting any time My nephew got the duck that was delicious my sister got the steak sirloin. It was also delicious and had little tiny mini salt crystals on it which gave it a lot of flavor. My only slight disappointment was the choice of background music. It had too much of a 12345678 up beat to it. When they play music with this kind of a tempo, you can definitely see all of the waiters and waitresses walking to the beat of the music, but I think it also rushes people in eating and digestion. It makes people hurry up because you could literally see people chewing to the beat of the music I don't even know if the Restaurant realizes the psychology behind the choice of music But overall, I enjoyed everything I came there to eat and everything tasted good for me. This lovely restaurant was connected to one of the hotels in Banff. It's was very nice inside we had great service by Camilo. We came for happy hour and it was perfect. We got two pies, which was more than enough. We ended up not finishing and basically took a pie (half of each pie) back to out hotel. The drinks were delicious too. read more

My friends and I were looking for healthy late lunch spot and stumbled upon this place online. Four out of five of us ordered the winter salad and my fifth friend ordered the wedge salad. Overall the food was very delicious especially considering salads or some times pretty simple plates. This was our first lunch stop after settling down in our hotel, and it was so delicious! We came just in time for happy hour, and everything was delicious. I ordered a blackberry mule, and it was refreshing and well balanced. My friends and I also got espresso martinis, and they were objectively delicious but too strong for me (I'm a baby when it comes to the taste of liquor). We had a great time munching on their salad, Parker rolls, and pizza. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the town, so I highly recommend you stop in for their happy hour as well! While we were in Banff, we decided to check out Farm and Fire since it was a restaurant that was recommended online by some others. The location is pretty convenient since it's just in the middle of Banff, so it was pretty easy to get to. We decided to make a reservation beforehand as well, so we were able to be seated pretty quickly after we arrived. The interior is quite cozy and nice, which can be a good contrast with the weather outside when it's cold. We decided to get a few items like fish and chips, a brisket pizza, and some ribs. The food here was all great, everything was well-made and I don't think I had complaints with any of them. This was our last day in Banff, and we came to town to get some lunch. It was raining outside, so we didn't spend a lot of time searching for a lunch spot. The bus dropped us right outside of the Farm Fire, so we checked it out. It's inside/adjacent to the Elm + Avenue Hotel. Lot of big windows and a spacious dining area. We put our name on a list, but only had to wait 15 minutes. It was late morning and the dining room was already full. We had a group of 4. Got settled in right away with waters, and menus. After putting in for our beverages we were able to order right away. Our service was a friendly young man, and did a very nice job of taking care of us. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and some braised bison. My partner got the burger. We also ordered a side of the roasted chicken. For being so busy, it didn't take that long to get our food. Everything was hot, and good portions. My avocado toast was just okay. I expected the bison meat to be more flavorful. The roasted chicken was amazingly good, and very moist. The smashburger was also a hit. Nice place for a lunch. The bread with butter was a good starter for sharing. The summer squash pizza was flavorful with a thin crust. This place is part of a trendy tourist hotel but the food is pretty good. I came during brunch time that lasts until 2pm. I got the salmon lox and was expecting the usualy salmon, capers and a bagel. Instead, there was no bagel but had fingerling potatoes instead. It was pretty good but the salmon felt lacking volume for the price paid. But then again, this is in a touristy hotel so it is what it is. The people here are very nice and I enjoyed the easy going feel of the entire establishment. Stopped here for an early dinner on the way from Moraine Lake. Daughter and I shared a wedge salad and a gluten free pepperoni pizza, with a glass of rose wine. The salad was delicious with cheese croutons , roasted corn and a mild chipotle ranch dressing. Three wedges were plenty to share. The gf pizza crust was thin and tender in the middle, crispy at the edges. This place filled up quickly, so come early! The service was very good too. ONE THING TO NOTE: we had a dog with us. I stopped first to ask if the dog was okay on the patio. The host said yes. However, there was no way for the dog to enter or leave the patio . My daughter and dog had to go through the bushes and into a flower garden and jump down to the patio. Same in reverse getting out. Maybe look elsewhere if you have your dog! read more

We also had the summer Salad and the Grilled Broccoli - both were excellent and enough for 2 people. The flavor of all 3 dishes were excellent. I had the Holy Cow bowl which was a combination of beef brisket, poached egg, coleslaw, and potatoes. What a great combination. REALLY disappointed in this restaurant. We were staying at the hotel attached, and wanted a late night dinner and they were full and could only sit us at the bar, which is fine!! Except service was AWFUL! Staff was rude and they served the people next to us first, even though we were there first and waiting longer. I don't mind the wait, it was just the obvious neglect and ignoring us. We watched our food be made, and sit under the "heating lamp" for 45 minutes. Our food had turned cold, and we just sat there watching the kitchen staff and waiters standing around ignoring us. The atmosphere of the place is great, not too noisy and loved the decor and the workers were very accommodating and attentive. Their drinks are phenomenal! Big servings and full of flavor. We had 4 drinks and were very content. We had their soup and one of their pizzas it wasn't all that that left me saying wow, but the dough was delicious and different. This place is upscale but casual with food that is homey but really fresh and well executed. I'm a huge fan and will definitely return next time I'm in Banff. At first, I was worried because most reviews are about their brunch, but we went for dinner, which I'm pleased to report was also excellent. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was warm, homey, and inviting. Favorite dishes were: - Bread with honey butter. Wow the bread was perfectly golden brown with all the Maillard flavors on the crust (almost like a pretzel) that perfectly complement the sweetness from the honey and the richness of the butter. The inside of the bread was nice and plush. So good - Rainbow trout. Again, the fish just tastes so fresh like it just came out of the water. My least favorite meal of our trip. Duck confit- super underseasoned, the texture of everything was good, but they forgot to add salt somewhere along the way. On today's menu, I ordered a vanilla latte ($6.25) and a bison Benny ($27). I was really excited because the photos looked amazing and the menu looked appetizing. But honestly? My favourite thing was the coffee. This latte was rich and deep flavoured, I honestly should have got some beans. Unfortunately that was my favourite part. Was my Benedict good? Yes, but there were some missed marks. The platting was messy. While I understand it was busy, I felt let down by the pretty, organized advertising. Our server never checked on us either. Again, it was busy, but it was a missed mark. While the potatoes tasted good, I feel like whole baby potatoes are... lazy? It was called "House potato", and they were offered on 4 of the 5 breakfast plates. I was disappointed because I'm a huge fan of crispy and/or fried potatoes for breakfast. Hollandaise sauce tasted great and eggs were poached medium, but I couldn't taste any freshness in the toast. I also couldn't tell at all that the meat was bison. I expected a gamey taste, but it tasted like plain shredded beef. If someone told me I was eating bison, I would literally not have guessed. And yes, I've eaten a lot of bison, there's a distinct flavour that game meat has. This meat did not have it. All in all, the dish was way over priced for what you get. People might say "well that's just Banff" but I'll say "I expected more because IT IS Banff". But hey, at least the latte was amazing. read more
