I went here twice with friends during our Banff trip because we just loved their drinks and vibe so much! They have a great cocktail menu, and you're bound to find at least one that you just want to keep ordering. They're open probably the latest out of most bars, so my friends and I stayed out really night trying out a bunch of drinks from their menu. Their service is great--I highly recommend!

Food was great all around, I loved the rotisserie chicken burger, definitely recommend! Server was very nice and also hilarious! Cool multi floor restaurant with multiple bars and lots of different seating options (booth, table, bar, and even picnic tables inside?!) This place is pretty highly rated and id say it's well deserved!

Great service, tasty flavorful good with a good portion, a nice selection for kids option. Dining area can be loud when it gets busy. Prices are reasonable. First time here in Calgary and it is just right across from our hotel so we can walk home if we had a few drinks without needing to catch a ride back to our hotel with kids. They have a free distillery tour as well.

Was able to book this on OpenTable. The doors open to allow fresh air and light to come in. This added to our dining experience as you can see the cars/buses and people just walking around outside and you can hear the commotion. I enjoyed the atmosphere it created. Now, the drinks here are pretty good and they use their own spirits. But what I really liked was the Annex rootbeer they served. It was so good that I am still thinking about it til this day. Unfortunately, it's only available in Canada so I'm a little bummed. It doesn't give off that sugary processed aftertaste you get with most root beers. A must try if you come. Just keep in mind that it's not free refills. We ended up ordering the rib eye 16oz. and in about 5 minutes, the food came out and I was like, that was really quick. Then I saw that they actually gave me the prime rib instead. I spoke to our server and she messed up the order and she kind of sold us on keeping the prime rib. We are glad we kept it because it was really good. The smoke flavor really put this one up there. Although I would have been happy with the ribeye, the smokiness really helped enhance the flavor. I was still a bit hungry afterwards because we planned to share the 16oz. ribeye, but the prime rib was only 12oz. and it did have an ounce or so of just fat that wasn't edible. Our server was great and I also noticed how personable their wait staff was because they all were engaging with their tables. We were able to ask for advice on what to do and what to avoid and that really helped us plan the rest of our time in Banff. This is a definite bookmark for the next time.

This place was recommended to us by a tour guide. We got the bison burger and the gnocchi. The lemon flavor in the gnocchi was good and it was very strong and lemon forward, and the bison burger (which is what they are known for) was good too. Personally the fries that came with the burger was the best part of the meal. The service was also a little slow but the restaurant was not busy (we were on a time crunch). So if you are on a time crunch I might recommend going somewhere else because they took their time. I would recommend coming here if you're looking for something safe and basic. It looks like they have typical bar food and some of the wood fired dishes such as the chicken or ribs sounded good. They do have sports displaying on the televisions so if you wanted a place to watch sports and take your time this might be the place!

Had a Buffalo burger and loved it. My girlfriend got the park burger and it has sauce that's made from horseradish which my gf can't stand. We traded our main courses and I thought her burger was good too. We both loved the fries. Had some cocktails made from the whiskey, vodka, and gin made here and we enjoyed the maple whiskey the best. The spinach dip was great. Server was good and friendly. Sat outside it was a little chilly but still nice. I would have gave this restaurant five stars but as my girlfriend pointed out in the description and ingredients for the park burger they don't say anything about horseradish which to me is a big no no.

Okay definitely do the free distillery tour and gin tasting!! I'm not a huge fan of gin but it was so fun to hear how they make it and sample different flavors of vodka and gin. Anna was an incredible host and was really knowledgeable about the full gin making process. I loved the tour she provided and the gin recs as well. It's a tad warm in the distillery space so prepare accordingly. I will definitely be back for more drinks and food next time as well!

Excellent dinner!! I enjoyed my Campfire Beef Tenderloin. Perfectly cooked steak and the loaded baked potato was amazing! It came with broccoli and carrots too so it was a well balanced dish. Everything was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. I loved my cocktail. Freshfields Sour was the featured cocktail and was delicious. I'm so glad I ordered it. I had the S'mores dessert and it was so good! Gorgeous view of downtown Banff and the mountains. Excellent and friendly service.

Came here just for drinks. Friday night 7PM place was only 60% full. These are based on Personal Preference! Lost Word feature cocktail - 7/10, a little too strong for me. Grand Sentinel - boyfriend got based on recommendation from waiter, way too much like a Old Fashioned for me. Got better once the ice started to melt. 6/10 (not my thing). Floral Fizz - 8.5/10. Light, refreshing.

This one was our first stop in Banff, the patio caught our eye so we decided to swing in. We started by making a reservation for the distillery tour then sat at the bar to grab some drinks. The bartenders made some fantastic cocktails. I wanted to try every single one on the menu. We happened to be there during the end of happy hour too so we got to try a couple discounted options, they have some great recipes here. The tour was pretty cool, it's a very small production area and it was really awesome to see everything. They keep the groups small and you can ask a lot of questions which was cool. They ended it with a tasting and we got to try everything we were interested in, they have some really awesome craft liquors that they obviously put a lot of love into. It would be amazing to try all their small batch flavors because what we did get to try was fantastic. Such a cool spot to try when you're in the area.

My running group that I was traveling with brought our party to the Elk & Oarsman for a quick dinner. This place is a lodge-style sports bar that is located in the heart of the Town of Banff. There are TV screens all around that show live sports and a large fireplace. You can see the beautiful mountain scenery from the rooftop patio. It was nice of Elk & Oarsman to accommodate our large party. The service was great here. Elk & Oarsman is a sports bar that serves good food. The menu has a variety of pub fare favorites like bar snacks, sharables, salads, flatbreads, elk dishes and burgers. I was starving and ordered the Buck Hunter because I wanted to try something with elk in it. This elk & bacon burger patty comes loaded with condiments on a brioche bun. I really liked the tasted of the smoked mayo on my burger. I also got a Broccoli Cheddar Soup on the side. Banded Peak Brewing is a popular beer made in Alberta that is named after a mountain in the Canadian Rockies. I grabbed their Amber Lager to pair with my dinner. There is a fun lively atmosphere here at Elk & Oarsman. I was only here for brief time, but enjoyed it. This is a solid place to check out if you like sports and good food.

The place was pretty busy when we arrived for dinner. Things we tried: - Agedashi Tofu: fried tofu with a warm dashi. It was light and the dashi had nice flavor. (3.5/5 stars) - Karaage Chicken: the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. (3.5/5 stars) - Edamame: the edamame arrived at the end of our meal which was odd. It was also not cooked well and tasted like it could have been frozen and then warmed up. Disappointing. (1/5 stars) - Shoku Roll: the roll was pretty good with the salmon on top and negitoro inside. I wish they used less of the sauce and mayo on top or put it on the side instead, because it was a lot and was overpowering the fish. (4/5 stars) - Salmon Oyako Bowl: I liked the raw salmon and salmon roe part, however the cooked salmon was overcooked. The bowl also lacked flavor and required soy sauce, though I wish there was a different sauce to add to it. (4/5 stars) Overall for the food, it's okay. I'm from California so we have better food so I'm trying not to be too critical knowing it's in Banff. It's nice to have an izakaya spot in downtown Banff though. Service: mixed. The waiter was nice, however they seemed under-staffed. He had too many tables so service was slow and we struggled with flagging him down when we needed a refill or the check.
